7 Camper Health & Well-Being At Camp NAC, our main concern is the health and well-being of our campers. Take a look at the variety of ways we create an incredible experience for each and every camper s health. Medication Policy Our medication policy is primarily established to accommodate the administration of medications commonly prescribed by physicians for the treatment of short-term illnesses. 1. Keep all medication in the original container with prescription and direction label attached. 2. Label the medication with camper s full name, name of medication, dosage amount and time(s) of administration. 3. Hand all medication to the camp manager or camp front desk. The medication will be kept in the camp office and administered at the appropriate times. Medicine that may need to be administered instantly will be kept with your camper's lead counselor. Sunscreen Procedures Parents or legal guardians are responsible for applying sunscreen prior to the start of the camp day. All campers must bring their own sunscreen to camp each day. Sunscreen will be re-applied in the afternoon for all campers. TIP: Label all sunscreen with your camper's name. TIP: Spray on sunscreen is preferred, as it is the easiest and quickest to apply. TIP: We recommend that fair-skinned campers who burn easily should pack a hat and an extra t-shirt to wear in the water for additional protection. Medication is not allowed to be kept in campers backpacks or lunch bags. Medication will be returned each Friday at the end of the week. ALLERGIES Please make sure your camper s allergies and their reactions are updated in their health history form. This can be accessed in your online Parent Login Portal after completing registration. Please provide all necessary medication in case of an allergic reaction. EpiPens: If your camper has an EpiPen, please place it in a plastic bag, labeled with your camper s full name and camp for the week. This can be given directly to your camper s counselor at the beginning of each week and returned on Friday. Camp NAC is a nut-free camp! Swim Test All full day campers will have recreational swim for an hour each day. Unless otherwise noted, half day campers will not swim. Each Monday, all campers will be required to complete a swim test, conducted by a Red Cross certified lifeguard. Campers who are absent can take the swim test the following day. Campers who pass the swim test: Are recorded and receive an ankle band to wear at the pool each day they are enrolled in camp. (Ankle bands are $5) Campers who DO NOT pass the swim test: Are provided a floatation device, which they must wear during their time at the pool complex or they are not permitted to swim.
