We develop and manufacture core relief items, longlasting insecticidal nets, solar products and male latex condoms for the humanitarian, public health and development sectors. Enlight A better life Enlight develops and manufactures solar solutions for the developing world. From entry-level lights through to solar home systems, its products bring power, light and connectivity to households and communities struggling to thrive with unreliable electricity supply. Ulinzi Latex Ulinzi Latex will manufacture high quality, totally reliable and affordable reproductive health products for the institutional market. 5 Our approach to business All under one roof Over the past four decades, NRS International has developed an enviable product range designed specifically for the humanitarian, public health and development sectors. You can rest assured that whatever product we offer, it is fully compliant with the highest industry standards. We manufacture what we sell We fully control our supply chain and manage the entire product development process from manufacturing through to final delivery. Our products are manufactured exclusively by H. Sheikh Noor-ud- Din & Sons (HSNDS) in Pakistan, our factory that employs 7,400 skilled workers. After leaving the factory, our expert logisticians facilitate the transportation of our products by air, sea and land to wherever they are required, and also maintain strategic stocks in Dubai and Lahore. We never stand still Innovation is in our blood. We work hand in hand with our clients, suppliers and beneficiaries in order to design new solutions and to continually improve our existing products. 28 Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease. Yet every two minutes a child dies of malaria and more than a billion people remain at risk. TANA Netting is committed to improve the lives of people threatened by malaria and other vectorborne diseases by providing cost effective and high quality preventive products. DawaPlus 2.0 is a long-lasting insecticidal net (LLIN) recommended by the World Health Organization Pesticide Evaluation Scheme (WHOPES). Expertise and partnerships We have an extensive understanding of the needs of our end-users and recognise the importance of quality products and solutions. We provide reliable logistical support to our clients from our Dubai head office to ensure the nets reach the beneficiaries as quickly as possible, even in hard-to-reach destinations. We are actively involved in global programmes and partnerships for the improvement of vector control tools, policies, advocacy and programme implementation. In addition, we have recently opened a cut-to-pack facility in Nigeria, as part of our commitment to fulfil the DawaPlus legacy of producing nets locally in the world s malarious regions. 28 NRS International catalogue

29 Field testing and performance Field testing Malaria Consortium in Uganda performed field tests on DawaPlus 2.0 nets for a period of three years. In 2012, the Consortium published the final results. 42 Innovation in action Jerry Bucket The all-new, life-saving Jerry Bucket is the result of our collaboration with Oxfam s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) team. The design of the 14L bucket has been upgraded so that it serves as a stackable safe water container rather than a multi-purpose bucket. Its new features include a HDPE lid that is tightly-fitted to the body of the bucket through an improved rim lock design, and a larger 100 mm lid opening with a clip-on cap to allow easier cleaning and filling from hand pumps.
