Innovative solutions, like the use of high-strength steels for the chassis, or the intelligent honeycomb technology used in furniture manufacture, allow for signifi cantly lower tare weights of Tabbert caravans. The legislator requires the provision of weight data in terms of mass in travel-ready condition and permissible laden mass of a caravan (Directive (EU) 1230/2012): Mass in travel-ready condition is defined as: Mass of the unladen vehicle + liquid gas bottles (100% full) + fresh water tank (100% full) + toilet water tank (100% full) + fresh water boiler (100% full) = mass in travel-ready condition Permissible laden mass defi nes the max. permissible weight of a vehicle (vehicle incl. optional extras/accessories/packages, as well as gas, water, luggage, and load, etc.) on the road. For you as user of a caravan: From the user s point of view, the key value is the maximum payload (luggage, load, gas, water, etc.), which is the difference between the permissible laden mass and the mass in travel-ready condition. Example: Mass in travel-ready condition 1,090 kg Permissible laden mass 1,400 kg Maximum payload 310 kg (luggage, load, gas, water, etc.) The mass of the unladen vehicle is determined by weighing it with its standard equipment (without optional extras, accessories, or packages). Please note that optional extras, accessories, and packages may reduce the maximum payload of a caravan when added to the mass of the unladen vehicle.
