3 DISMISSAL PROCEDURES AND POLICIES: Drop off: Summer campers will be dropped off between 7:30am-9:00am at the doors which lead directly into the Ravenswood Elementary School gym. You can find these doors facing Montrose Ave located in the front courtyard (near the school s Marquee). If you must drop your camper off late to camp, please come to door 6 in the back of the school where you would normally pick them up. If no one is there, please call (312) and a staffer will let your child in and escort them to their respective summer camp group. Pick up: Please go to Door 6 in the back of the school at Ravenswood Elementary. You will see garden planters and a basketball hoop near these doors. Ring the doorbell to the right of the doors and someone will let you in. Students will be dismissed through a Walkie Talkie system. When picking up your student, please tell the front desk attendant your child s name and grade. Your child s safety is paramount and therefore will not be released to any non-guardian unless their name is on the list of your child s approved pick-ups. Anyone on that list must present a photo I.D. to the attendant before they are allowed to pick up your child. Approved pick-ups are not transferred from previous school years so please make sure to include all approved pick-ups on your account registration form. Changes to your student release information (i.e. adding to your approved pick-up list) must be ed to the Resource Coordinators. Students must be signed out of camp daily. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide copies of any relevant court documents regarding custody to the YG program office. Late pick up fees: A $1 fee is charged every minute for late pick-ups past 6:05pm for every family (full-time enrollment) or past 3:35pm (part-time enrollment). For example, if a child is picked up at 6:06pm, the family is charged $1. Extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration for late pick-ups. OTHER CAMP NOTES: A cold breakfast and lunch is provided each day. Campers must bring their own afternoon snack. Campers must bring a labeled water bottle and sunscreen each day. Sharing food is not permitted at camp. Campers who require a personal aid during the school day are also required to have an aid (provided by the student s family) during camp. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide information on any relevant medical conditions to the Youth Guidance program office, if special accommodations are needed. Youth Guidance is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
4 PROGRAM FEES: The cost of our summer camp is below. Cost is dependent on number of weeks, the grade of the camper and the enrollment option. The full 8 week option reflects a 5% discount. FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT (7:30am-6:00pm) PART-TIME ENROLLMENT (7:30-3:30pm) A separate, non-refundable registration fee of $100 (per student) is due at the time of registration. Should you qualify for assistance, you will still be responsible for paying the registration fee and completing the regular registration to be eligible for Summer Camp. For more general information on CCA, please visit the Illinois Action for Children website. To see if you are eligible to apply based on financial need, please visit the Paying for Child Care section of the website. All CCA applications must be signed by the Resource Coordinator and sent in by May 16th. Proof of submission must be given to the Resource Coordinator. CAMP BEHAVIORAL POLICIES AND EXPECTATIONS: Students are expected to follow Youth Guidance at Ravenswood Elementary School s behavioral expectations at all times. This includes being safe, responsible and respectful to all students, staff, and administrators. Campers must uphold the following expectations: 1) Campers are NOT permitted to bring or use toys from home, trading cards (Yu-Gi-Oh!,/Pokemon, etc.) or electronic devices during programming, including but not limited to: portable music players, smart watches, cell phones, handheld gaming devices, personal computers, ipads, etc. Cell phones must remain off during programming hours. Calls must be made to/from the program office line with program staff s permission. 2) Unauthorized items that are out during program hours will be confiscated by program staff and returned only to a parent/guardian. More than one violation will result in a write-up and a conference with parents/guardians. 3) At no point should campers be wandering the hallways unsupervised. 4) Campers may not leave the school building for any reason while in attendance at Summer Camp, except when accompanied by an instructor on a field trip. If a camper leaves the school grounds and returns to Summer Camp without proper permissions, they will receive an automatic two day suspension from Summer Camp. 5) Campers may not leave the school building to buy lunch or order lunch to be delivered. 6) Campers may not refrigerate or microwave food. 7) If a camper is signed out of Summer Camp, they may only return with parent/guardian permission. 8) For safety reasons, once a camper leaves the school building, they cannot remain on school grounds (playground, outside building) without adult supervision. 9) Campers must wait inside the school building to be picked up. 10) Finally, campers must adhere to instructions given by their camp counselor. Excessive disrespect toward other campers or program staff along with physical altercations will result in an automatic write-up. For a more comprehensive list of expected behaviors, please refer to the CPS student code of conduct available on the CPS website: Should students not follow through with the set expectations, they will receive a write-up. Once a student receives three write-ups they will be suspended from the Summer Camp program for two days. A fourth write up will result in expulsion from the Summer Camp program for the remainder of the summer. Please note that tuition is non-refundable.
