2 Marquee notes Peg & Pole Marquees vs Framed Marquees Peg & Pole marquees are a traditional marquee with internal centre poles and guy ropes around the perimeter and can only be erected on grassed areas. Therefore, if you wish to erect a marquee on concrete, a deck, or other hard surface a Framed Marquee is required. Framed marquees are completely free standing and have no internal centre poles or guy ropes around the outside perimeter. They can usually be appended to a building or garage or be used to extend your house or venue. Frame marquees are sturdier in the event of high winds, however as frame marquees are more expensive, peg and pole marquees are usually used on grassed surfaces. Silk lining is highly recommended for weddings and other elegant functions, it is truly worth the additional expense. A cost effective way to enhance your marquee is to include clear or bayview-arched walls, which look great and have the added benefit of allowing natural light into the marquee. Best Appearance Package Quality with Value for Money The Best Appearance Package includes one of our high-quality white marquees, erected and dismantled in Christchurch, complete with internal silk roof lining and a split between silk walls and bayview-arched walls. Cartage and council permit fees may apply. Being equivalent to a 10% discount on the hire, this package offers exceptional value for money and is therefore highly recommended for weddings and other functions when quality and presentation is paramount. This package does not include lighting or other equipment inside the marquee (see wedding reception package ). Council Building Consents Marquees over 100m2 must obtain a council permit before being erected. This is the responsibility of the hirer however Party Warehouse can obtain this permit on your behalf if requested. All prices include GST and are correct at the time of printing. Prices are for our standard hire period of 1-4 days, some exclusions apply. A cartage fee applies for deliveries.
