Required Language: English Spoken Language: English Description: Kipepeo Community Resource Centre is a community learning and empowerment resource that has been established under Kipepeo Community Empowerment program organization to offer capacity building training to community members, women, youths, children and older people with the much needed technical skills to enable them gain knowledge to be used in creation of income generating activities, projects to support their livelihood needs. Type of Work: The volunteers will assist in the offering of computer lessons to youths, women and orphans. Carry out village technology forums for community empowerment. Carry out social technology learning skills. The volunteers will participate as a team in the whole duration of the camp. Volunteers can share and exchange different cultural forms during the workcamp. The orientation for the workcamp is scheduled at KCEP offices for the day before the workcamp start.

2 Accommodation: KCEP provides accommodation that is shared by all the volunteers. Volunteers must bring their own tents, sleeping bags, mosquito nets or repellants, spot light, cap, sun cream, personal effects i.e. toiletries. Internet, supermarkets and banking are available in Luanda town, which is 20 minutes drive from KCEP offices. Requirements: Commitment of volunteers; Project or work camps are not just cheap holidays; hard work and full participation is required. Volunteers should be self-driven, adaptable, people oriented and tenacious. Also bring sun cream, mosquito repellent, boots/shoes, light working clothes during working hours, warm clothes at night, as it may turn out to be cold, flash light, personal effects (toiletries) and materials for the cultural presentations about your country, camera. Approximate Location: KCEP is located around 30 km west of Kisumu and 400 km west of Nairobi, capital city of the Republic of Kenya. Notes: As a matter of fact the orientations shall be held on one day before the workcamp begins. Our main purpose is promote youth employment and information exchange among Kenyans and international communities (voluntary work-camps, short and long term volunteering) youth mobility, social inclusion, community development, promotion of peace among our diverse communities, understanding and unity of purpose. To empower the community, KCEP is constructing a multipurpose community resource centre building that will create space and platform for community empowerment, the volunteers will be involved in brick making, landscaping and leveling and tree planting. Required Language: English Spoken Language: English Description: Kipepeo Community Education Centre is a community educational school is aimed at empowering children from resource poor and needy families in Luanda sub-county, most of which are from families affected by HIV AIDS, death of their parents, vulnerable and poverty stricken families. The centre provides primary education trainings to enable them become educated, self reliant and in the future proceed to higher level of learning and institutions like high school. Kipepeo Community Education Centre is a project of Kipepeo Community Empowerment Program, which is a community based organization that empowers needy community groups through various integrated activities to enable them achieve quality livelihood and be self sustainable economically. The Education Centre is located in Kima, along Kima Emusutswi Road, opposite Kima Mission Church of God. In Luanda Sub-County, Vihiga County, Western Kenya.
