July 24-Aug 2 Strider Learn to Ride a Bike Camp Ages 3-5 years (30-38 tall) The goal of the STRIDER Camp is to provide a solid foundation of balance and the ability to stride. Riding a bike is a major milestone and Strider camp will provide the tools to teach your child to ride on two wheels. STRIDER NoPedal Balance Bikes were developed specifically to help toddlers and young children of all abilities to learn balance and coordination BEFORE pedaling. Each day we will explore the trips, trick, recipes and techniques of summer cooking from picnics to barbeques basics. If so, sign them up for this fun and delicious summer exploration of French foods. These kid-friendly French dishes found in the countryside or along the coastline will incorporate summery produce and taste fresh and flavorful, zesty and hearty. : July My Kinda Town - Chicago! We will go on a culinary journey around Chicago. We ll be cooking up dishes that originated here, and ones that were imported by our friends from around the world! : Aug 6-10

Campers will spend their summers playing games outside, making new friends, participating in arts and crafts, listening to music and more.

Your child must attend the same three days for the entire three week session. Campers will swim on Mondays and Wednesdays and attend 2 Friday field trips per session.

Campers will be outside and play different games, participate in crafts, go to the pool and take a field trip once a week. The cost of the field trip is included in the fee.

$300/$390 June 25-July 13 Camp Heritage - 3 s a Week Grades 1st-5th (2018-2019 school year) Camp Heritage offers the flexibility to attend camp only three days a week.

3 CAMP INFORMATION Camp Fun...All Long! Kinder Kamp Summer Camp Parent Meeting Grade K ( school year) KinderKamp is a fun filled five day a week camp especially designed for students entering Kindergarten. Campers will spend their summers playing games outside, making new friends, participating in arts and crafts, listening to music and more. Campers will split their time between inside and outside activities. You can also attend camp three days per week, your child will participate in all of the fun as the 5 day a week campers. Your child must attend the same three days for the entire three week session. Campers will swim on Mondays and Wednesdays and attend 2 Friday field trips per session. $300/$390/five days $219/$282 /three days June 25-July 13 Camp Heritage Grades 1st-5th ( school year) Camp Heritage is a fun filled, all day, five days a week, camp. Campers will be outside and play different games, participate in crafts, go to the pool and take a field trip once a week. The cost of the field trip is included in the fee. Field trips are not optional. If your child is in attendance on the day of the field trip, he/she will attend the trip. $300/$390 June 25-July 13 Camp Heritage - 3 s a Week Grades 1st-5th ( school year) Camp Heritage offers the flexibility to attend camp only three days a week. Your child will participate in all of the same activities as the five day a week campers. Your child must attend the same three days for the entire three week session. $219/$282 June 25-July 13 Come have all your questions about Camp Heritage, Teen Camp, and KinderKamp answered, meet our Camp Supervisors, learn all about what you and your child can expect this summer and learn what we need from you to ensure a fun summer for everyone! All parents/guardians that have registered or are considering registering their child for either camp program should attend this meeting. Please note all campers must be registered the Thursday prior to the session start. June 3 SU 6 PM Camp Staff A qualified adult director supervises each camp session. Counselors at each session are a mixture of adults, and enthusiastic college and high school students. All staff complete a training program and are certified in first aid and CPR and each counselor carries a first aid kit at all times. Teen Camp Grades 6th-8th ( school year) Teen Camp offers the opportunity to work on developing leadership skills, responsibility, and new experiences. Teens will be an important part of making decisions on games, activities, crafts and more. You may go for long bike rides, go fishing, grill out for lunch and more! Teen Camp participants will also receive a 10% discount on the Friday Teen Trips that are held during the weeks that the teen is registered for. Friday Teen Trips can be found in the Summer Program & Service Guide on page 22. $255/$330 (see all payment options on next page) June 4-21 June 25-July 12* July 16-Aug 2 Teen Camp - 2 s Grades 6th-8th ( school year) Teen Camp offers the flexibility to attend camp two days a week. Teen Camp participants will participate in the same activities as the five day camp and will receive a 5% discount on the Friday Teen Trips. Campers must register for the same two days for the session. Friday Teen Trips can be found in the Summer Program & Service Guide on page 22. $129/$165 (see all payment options on next page) June 4-21 June 25-July 12* July 16-Aug 2 Register for swim lessons at the same time as Kinder Kamp, Camp Heritage or Teen Camp and receive 10% off swim lesson registration. Campers should sign up for the 10:15 am session. See pages of the Summer Program & Service Guide for the swim lesson schedule. Camp FUN includes: Swim at Tomahawk Aquatic Center twice a week Trip to Community Park once per session for bike day and splash pad Field trip once a week Trained and CPR/First Aid Certified Staff Fun games, activities, sports, crafts, cooking and more! Our staff can transport campers to other activities including swim lessons and sports camps. Register for Camp 1 of 2 convenient ways! Register on a per session basis by the Thursday of the week prior to the session beginning. Sign up for the entire summer of Camp before June 1 and you ll have the option of being put on an automatic weekly payment plan charged to your debit or credit card and you will be able to predetermine a one week vacation period that your child will not attend camp that you will not be charged for. Session 12:30-3:30 PM Baseball Hitting Camps Ages 4-12 years This camp is designed to instruct each participant on the proper hitting technique.

Video analysis will be used to develop proper hitting technique. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and snack for ½ day camps, and a water bottle, snack, and sack lunch for full day camps!

Our experienced instructors utilize sports equipment and large court/turf spaces to create a fun atmosphere for your child to get active.

The program concludes with basic fitness and nutrition tips aimed to improve overall health & wellness.

The program provides an opportunity for each child to develop motor skills and nurture his/her growth socially and emotionally through teamwork and good sportsmanship. Session 12:30-3:30 PM Baseball Hitting Camps Ages 4-12 years This camp is designed to instruct each participant on the proper hitting technique. Instruction and improvement of fundamentals for successful hitting includes: proper form/technique, grip, various stances, weight shift, stride, swing, and follow-through. Central Park Field #4 Session 12:30-3:30 PM Speed & Agility Camp This camp is designed to keep your child moving while activating numerous muscle groups and improving gross and fine motor movements. Our experienced instructors utilize sports equipment and large court/turf spaces to create a fun atmosphere for your child to get active. Participants push themselves physically and mentally while emphasizing the importance of healthy lifestyles. The program concludes with basic fitness and nutrition tips aimed to improve overall health & wellness. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and snack for ½ day camps, and a water bottle, snack, and sack lunch for full day camps! Three Rivers School Session 12:30-3:30 PM Total Sports Camp In this camp, children are introduced to the fundamentals of sports including basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, t-ball and other sports and group games. The program provides an opportunity for each child to develop motor skills and nurture his/her growth socially and emotionally through teamwork and good sportsmanship. Session 12:30-3:30 PM Flag Football League Training Camp This camp is devoted to preparing players for success in youth flag football leagues. Coaches emphasize offensive formations and plays, league rules, strategy and fundamentals. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and snack for ½ day camps, and a water bottle, snack, and sack lunch for full day camps! Central Park Session 12:30-3:30 PM Volleyball Camp Grades 3rd-8th Bump, Set & Spike your way to better skills and knowledge. Instruction, training and game play will be offered in this camp designed to teach and review fundamental volleyball skills. There will be instruction given at the beginner as well as the advanced levels. Sharpen your skills and get the winning edge! 10/45 $65/$ PM Scott Slocum s Summer Shoot Out Grades 1st-6th ( school year) This program is offered for boys and girls from 1st grade through 3rd grade and 4th -6th grade. This camp will coach dribbling, passing, shooting and defense in game situations. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Scott Slocum will be the instructor. 10/45 $45/$55 Grade 1st-3rd Aug th-6th Aug :30-11:30 AM 11:45 AM-12:45 PM Challenger Soccer Brazilian Soccer Camp Ages 6 years & up TetraBrazil camps and team clinics will inspire players to practice and improve their ball control, foot skills and moves that Brazilian soccer is famous for. Our unique TetraBrazil camp programs combine learning, playing, competing and fun and provides players with authentic Brazilian coaching right in their own community. The TetraBrazil curriculum has been designed by our professional coaches and staff to provide teams, coaches, and players with the same expert level of training received by professional clubs in Brazil! Each camper needs to bring a water bottle and snack daily; full day campers need to bring a sack lunch, also! 5 L.I.T Program (Leader in Training) - NEW! Grades 8th-12th The Leader in Training program will invest towards developing teens to be true leaders, build self-confidence, and empower them to inspire the same in others. During this unique camp we will engage in activities and discussions about types of leadership, communication styles and methods, service work, team-building and other leadership skills while still participating in camp activities. Teens will also learn important skills like filling out job applications, creating a resume and participating in mock interviews. Participants are asked to dress in appropriate clothing for working outdoors and to bring a sack lunch. Community service opportunities are provided during this program. Additional paper work is required to participate in the L.I.T Program. $180/$192 8/14 June 14 June AM-3 PM T.L.C - Teen Leadership Camp Grades 8th-12th The TLC program offered through the Channahon Park District is now the second step of our leadership development program. Participants can join us to study teaching styles and methods in activities as well as taking a CPR and First Aide training course. The TLC program is a 4 week session, with the T.L.C assisting with our Kinder Kamp and Camp Heritage programs. The program will run 3 days per week and will include an interview and pre-camp training. A T.L.C camper will participate in assisting with weekly lesson and activity planning, will participate and run group activities and will swim at the pool with the campers on pool days. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working with youth, leading programs and activities, and working with fellow staff in program conception, creation, and execution! Grades 4th-6th ( school year) Hone your survival skills to prepare for 21st century disaster in this 3 day camp for adventurous kids! You ll learn to build a shelter, find your way in the wilderness, and assemble the necessary tools to survive any situation. On the last day, you will test your zombie survival skills with a water gun war of humans vs. zombies. Pre-registration is required and all participants must sign the Zombie Survival Camp waiver before the first day of camp. Experienced Boy Scouts Wanted: If you are looking for a fun volunteer opportunity this summer we have just the camp for you! We are looking for Zombie Survival Camp Captains to help lead our zombie survivalist into the wilderness. If you are in grades 7th-12th and you would like to volunteer please call the park district at Community Park $45/$55 10/20 Deadline June M-W June 8 July 30-Aug 1 M-W July 27 We are looking for T.L.C participants who will be a good role model for our young campers and willing to have fun this summer!
