2 About Ronald McDonald Camp Each August, over two hundred campers pack their bags and head to Ronald McDonald Camp. Located in the beautiful Pocono mountains just three hours outside of Philadelphia Ronald McDonald Camp looks like a traditional summer camp, but as anyone who has been there knows, it is so much more. Ronald McDonald Camp is a place where kids with cancer, and their siblings, can enjoy just being kids. It s a week of fun and friendship, and freedom from being different. It s a chance to experience new activities and acquire new skills in a supportive, nurturing environment. It s a time when kids can talk openly about cancer and everybody else understands. Camp welcomes children ages 7 to 17 who are currently undergoing treatment or who have been treated for cancer. One sibling per camper also has the opportunity to attend. Senior Camp is specially designed for teens ages 13 to 17 and gives them the opportunity to choose their own activities in a structured environment. Junior Camp provides age-appropriate camp activities filled with fun and challenge for children ages 7 to 12. 3 A Camper Story: Thea Danze was four months old when her parents, Jeff and Trisha, noticed her eyes wiggling and that she was restless. They had her evaluated by doctors, who discovered a brain tumor and recommended immediate treatment at the Children s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The Danze family spent an entire month at CHOP that year and since then, Thea has undergone continuous chemotherapy treatment, which has created inhibiting side effects for her, including mobility issues, visual impairments, and the need for a feeding tube. Trisha shared that despite these obstacles they, have always tried to find a way for Thea to experience as much as possible and have as normal a life as possible. For that reason, the family was ecstatic to hear about Ronald McDonald Camp (RMC) from their social worker at CHOP. Thea is unable to attend other summer camps because of her medical needs but Ronald McDonald Camp allows her to do so because of the medical staff that also attends. It was very exciting that Thea could have the opportunity to experience sleep away camp, just like any other kid, said Trisha, adding, However, it was also nerve-wracking! It was the first time that she would be away from us and it is hard entrusting your child to the care of others. The staff really put our fears to rest they were able to give her all of her medications and do her tube feedings we knew she would be in good hands. Thea s first year attending Camp was in Trisha said, Since attending Camp, Thea has definitely matured and become a little more flexible. She is learning that trying new things can be fun and that there are lots of people who love her, care about her, and can keep her safe. RMC aims to provide patient campers and their siblings the independence to experience new things in an environment where everyone understands. Trisha said, It is such a fantastic experience for the kids to be around other kids who are similar and can share their experiences. It s a great time for parents to let them spread their wings and learn to fly without mom and dad. The staff is really wonderful and takes care of each camper as if they were their own. It is a great experience for kids and parents to be able to conquer their fears. And, let s face it, we all went through a cancer diagnosis, we can do anything! Trisha shared that although Thea is now old enough to understand that she experiences life differently from other kids, RMC helps her relate to other kids and feel more included. The Danze family plans to have Thea attend camp again in 2017 and they are very excited to have her younger sister, Lilly, attend with her once she is old enough. When asked what she would tell potential RMC campers, Thea shared, Camp was amazing and I loved being able to go zip-lining!

4 About the Program The Adopt A Cabin partnership program allows you, your company, or organization to be the sponsor of one of the 27 camp cabins at Ronald McDonald Camp. Your funding will sponsor all of the campers and volunteer counselors who call this cabin home for the entire week at camp. Your Partnership Impact By partnering with us for our Adopt A Cabin program, you are doing much more than making sure our campers have comfortable and safe place to sleep each night as important as that is. You are providing a place for campers to gather and meet new friends. A place for campers to retreat to when summer rainstorms pass. A place for bedtime stories to be told, and friendship bracelets to be made. And most importantly, you are providing a place for campers to gain strength, confidence, and form friendships that will last a lifetime. Last year, we had a record number of 245 children at Camp, with 69 new campers. Of these campers, 65 percent came from within Pennsylvania and 33 percent came from New Jersey. Camp hosted 165 campers who were previously treated, or were in the process of being treated for cancer and 80 camper siblings who were excited to spend quality time with their brothers and sisters. Because of donors like you, 97 percent of parents feel that attending Camp has had a positive impact on their child s well-being. In addition, 96 percent of parents report that attending camp has helped their child build confidence, and become more independent, and 99 percent of parents would also recommend Camp to other families with children with cancer. With your help, we can have an even greater impact.

5 Sponsorship Levels Exclusive Cabin Sponsor $5,000 tax deductible gift Donor will have exclusive sponsorship over one cabin for the period of one week. Shared Cabin Sponsor $2,500 tax deductible gift Two donors may be assigned to the same cabin for the period of one week. Paired donors will not be in competing industries. Adopt A Cabin Benefits Prominent Signage Outside Your Adopted Cabin There will be signage outside of each cabin listing you/your company or organization as the proud sponsor of that cabin. Signage will stay on the cabin throughout the entire week of camp. Name Placement On High-Visibility Recognition Banner Your or your company/organization s name will be listed on our Adopt A Cabin banner, located in the cafeteria during the week of Camp, then hung for August and September in a highly trafficked area within the Chestnut St. House, frequented by hundreds of people every year including families, staff, visitors, and guest chef groups who provide meals for our families every day. Logo Placement On Website Your logo will be placed on the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House website, recognizing you or your organization as an Adopt A Cabin sponsor. The logos will link to your website, allowing increased visibility and traffic to your site. Permanent Reminder of Your Service to Campers You will receive a photo and message from the campers who will call your cabin home for the week. Since there are limited Adopt A Cabin partnership opportunities available, you will have first right of refusal for the 2018 Adopt A Cabin partnership year. In addition, all sponsorship levels will receive the following recognition: Inclusion in the Messages of Hope newsletter; Listing in the 2017 Annual Report; Social media mentions during the course of and/or following the week of camp.

Signage Displayed During Camp All Adopt A Camper donors will be listed on a sign prominently displayed throughout the week of Camp. Permanent Reminder of Your Service to Campers You will receive a photo and message from the camper that you have adopted for the week.
