Natural harbours mean picture-postcard fishing villages and seemingly never-ending roads cross the region, providing beautiful sweeping views. Fjarðabyggð" is an association of villages in the Eastern fjords of Iceland. It includes the towns of Eskifjörður, Fáskrúðsfjörður, Mjóifjörður, Neskaupstaður, Reyðarfjörður and Stöðvarfjörður, all tiny fishing villages with steep mountains towering just behind the houses. In this area you will see some of the features that make Iceland a unique place in the world: spectacular fjords with a rich sea life, a great variety of birdlife, and countless breathtaking hiking paths. You will explore the area during your stay in the east. Work: Our teenager s camp aim is to provide fun and educative time for the young participants. During the 12 days program participants will have the chance to get to know Icelandic nature, history and people. The Team leaders of these camps will be trained on how lead teens of this age and oriented them into how to be a part of the daily community life in a camp. The young volunteers will follow a program which is a mixture of environmental voluntary work and games. We will also go for hikes to discover the fantastic landscapes in the East of Iceland. The volunteers will also help with renovation and environmental work in the area. Since the the camps is located in the east of Iceland our young volunteer will have the opportunity to enjoy a round tour around Iceland with the extra fee for bus ride of 150 euro for both ways.

Leisure: We will visit several places in the area and enjoy the nature while travelling. We will play different kind of sports together will local teenagers. There is a free access to the local geothermal-heated swimming pools in the area. Traditionally, natural pools have played an important social role in Icelandic culture. Most Icelandic pools offer indoor and outdoor swimming, as well as hot tubs and saunas or steam rooms. Accommodation and Food: We will stay in a fully equipped house in the village. Beds will be provided and everyone is asked to bring his/her own warm sleeping bag. Wi-Fi Internet connection is available. Food is included for the duration of the workcamp, however everyone is expected to do their fair share of the cooking and cleaning. Since it is always nice to try new and different dishes, volunteers are encouraged to bring along their favourite recipes from home! Language: A basic knowledge of English is required for this workcamp. Terminal: Intl. Airport: Keflavík (KEF), Reykjavík. The closest national airport to the camp site is Egilsstaðir airport which is 40 km away from the project s site. Flights arrive at Keflavik International Airport (KEF), just south of Reykjavik. WF Iceland will offer a minibus trip from Reykjavik to Eskifjörður for a fair price (150 for the round trip which is almost km in total). On the way to the camp we will go through the South to the East of the island. After the camp we will go through the North and west to Reykjavik. This trip includes unique Icelandic sights such as glacial lagoons, waterfalls, volcanic and geothermal areas, glaciers, lava fields, hot-springs, rhyolite mountain ranges, steam-vents, or even icebergs. Additional Information: There is an Extra participation fee of EUR 250, for this workcamp. Practical information about Veraldarvinir Worldwide Friends Iceland Veraldarvinir - Worldwide Friends (WF Iceland) was founded in 2001 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization promoting peace, friendship and international understanding. We host short-term voluntary work camps, mid and long-term voluntary projects (3-8 months), seminars (suitable for both young people and adults), youth exchanges, educational programmes and campaigns in Iceland. We also send abroad Icelandic volunteers who wish to have similar experiences. We are also active in the Erasmus+ program. Veraldarvinir/WF Iceland aims at: Promoting inter-cultural learning, exchange and awareness Preserving Icelandic nature and raising awareness about environmental issues Promoting voluntary work and a culture of volunteering

Our headquarters are located at the following address: WF Iceland / Veraldarvinir Hverfisgata Reykjavík Iceland Website: General information about our International Workcamps: Age limit: In general, volunteers should be at least 18 years old in the adult camps. There are no maximum age limits in the majority of our workcamps. We also host camps for teenagers years old. Work: Workcamps typically last 11 to 14 days. Working hours are usually about hours a week (five to seven hours a day, five days a week). Any exceptions will be noted in the project descriptions. Accommodation: In Reykjavik, WF Iceland provides several shared flats and houses located in the heart of the capital for accommodations. Elsewhere in Iceland, volunteers stay at local community centres, schools, Youth Centres or other houses owned by the communities. The accommodations offer basic sleeping and cooking facilities, and include a shared kitchen and bathroom. In some cases volunteers have to take a shower at the local swimming pool. Food: Food will be provided, however volunteers are expected to do their fair share of the cooking and cleaning. Camp Language: English is the language spoken in our camps. Volunteers are required to have at least a basic knowledge of the English language. Should the language requirements be higher, this will be specified in the workcamp description. Camp Leaders: There are always one or more leaders for each camp, depending on the size of the group. Leaders represent the link between the hosting community and the group of volunteers. They coordinate the work, organize free time activities, and plan excursions, shopping, and cooking sessions. Apart from these additional responsibilities, they are equal to the other volunteers. Most of our camp leaders are from other countries, and we are very open minded in hosting international leaders from other organizations. Extra Participation Fee: This year we are charging an extra participation fee for all of our camps. Volunteers are expected to pay the workcamp fee in cash (EUR, USD or Icelandic Krona) upon their arrival to the camp. WF Iceland charges a participation fee for the following reasons: a. Lack of support from the government and other sources b. In many of our workcamps WF itself has to supply food which is quite expensive in Iceland compared to other European countries

c. In most of our workcamps located in Reykjavik, WF itself has to cover both food and accommodation costs d. Most of our partner organizations in other countries cover their administration costs through the fees they charge to the volunteers they send abroad. We do not send enough volunteers abroad in order to cover our administrative expenses so we need to charge a participation fee from the volunteers we receive Insurance: Veraldarvinir provides a third part liability during the duration of the camp. WF Iceland does not provide volunteers with a medical insurance. Therefore, we strongly recommend that the volunteers purchase insurance for their stay here in Iceland. European volunteers should bring their European Health Cards (former E111). Some practical matters We highly recommend that volunteers bring a sleeping bag, basic work clothes, hiking boots, and swimming suits, as well as warm and waterproof clothes. Volunteers are also encouraged to bring information about their country such as photos, music, songbooks, games, or musical instruments. Volunteers with special needs: Our camps are open to everyone. If you have volunteers with special needs, please contact us. We will do our very best to find a way to host them. Information Sheets We will send out detailed information sheets with practical information and camp details the same day we accept the volunteers. All our information sheets are also available online. Our website: We encourage all our partners and volunteers to check out our website for more information about our projects. There you will find more detailed information, videos and photos from our workcamps. Arrival and departure The first day of the camp is arrival day and the last day of the camp is a departure day. If the camp is in the North, East or West of Iceland the volunteers should arrive the day before the camp starts and departure the day after it ends. If the camp is in Reykjavik it is enough to arrive the first day of the camp and depart the day that the camp ends. Getting to the campsite: Iceland s public transportation is expensive and not very efficient. We will arrange a minibus trip from Reykjavik to most of our workcamp locations outside of Reykjavik. The participants can choose the minibus option to reach the workcamp location or traveling independently using public transport (e.g. buses, flights). The minibus fee will be published in the information sheet. However, beware that traveling with our minibus is usually the most convenient option. Every participant who wishes to take the minibus needs to inform us by (bookings@wf.is) several days

BELGIO CBB ABOUT CBB Main facts The Association des Compagnons Bâtisseurs, aka CBB, is a non-profit, non-political organization recognized and financially supported as Youth Organization by the Brussels-Wallonia Federation since It is member of the ALLIANCE of European Voluntary Service Organizations since In Belgium, CBB is member of the federation of the pluralist and independent youth organizations. As Youth Organisation, CBB is managed by young volunteers. 7 Board members out of 9 and 81% of the members of the general assembly are bellow 35 years old. Values, principles and objectives CBB recognizes itself in a value of active pluralism. The participation in our projects always leave the participants free to make their own choice and decision concerning their personal, cultural, political or philosophical orientation and involvements so far that these orientation and involvements respect the personal situation and the dignity of any other members of the society and respect the corevalues of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. All the actions of the organization are based on the principles of non-formal education (in the French meaning of Popular Education). Our projects aim to support the development of active citizens, able of sense of responsibility, criticism and solidarity. They offer a space for interaction and expression of people from diverse origins and abilities, with the objectives to encourage their awareness on societal challenges (from local to global level), to raise new links of solidarity between them and between their communities, and to support their full participation in the society. In that sense, any project or activity in CBB encourages: - The empowerment of free, autonomous and responsible individuals. Our projects encourage processes of social and cultural emancipation, which means that they invite their participants to reflect on the place they occupy in the society and on the role they can and they want to assume in it. - The meetings beyond the differences. Our projects encourage the awareness to the richness of human diversity and the creation of new social links. - The practices of active citizenship and the promotion of volunteering: by taking part in our projects, people should experiment new ways of participation and to be encouraged to take responsibility in their communities. - The informal and non-formal learning processes: the participation in our projects must permit the acquirement and development of competences such as self-confidence, autonomy, intercultural competences, leading skills, manual, social or linguistics abilities Our programs and activities CBB mainly develops its action with 5 permanent programs of activities: The international workcamps (short term volunteering projects in international group) The week-end workcamps (volunteering projects for local groups during the week-end)

The mid and long term volunteer projects, which include European Voluntary Services. The leisure time activities (of one evening, one day, one week-end, one week ) for mixed groups of volunteers and people in situation of disability which are oriented on the meeting and collective action of these people with different abilities. The leaders trainings (for volunteer projects and also for kids camps) Our public and human resources Our activities are developed thanks to a network of 425 members (members list 2013), 180 international volunteers during the summer and a team of 8 employees. We are a Youth Organization and most of our public is aged between 16 and 25 years, even if there is not upper age limit to integrate our groups of volunteers. Our public is diverse. Around 30 nationalities are yearly represented in our projects. We also implement strategies to facilitate the participation of people from disadvantaged economic and social background as well as of people in situation of disability. A clear result of this strategy is that, among our 425 members, more than 70 people are in situation of disability. Our level of action CBB is based in a semi-rural area. The unique office of the organization is located in Marche-en- Famenne, a inhabitants town at 110 km from Brussels, the capital from Belgium. We organize our projects in the territory of the Brussels-Wallonia-Federation of Belgium, which means that our projects take place in the French speaking part of the country. In the frame of our international projects, we maintain partnerships with more than 70 organizations and 49 countries from Africa, Asia, America and Europe. ABOUT OUR WORKCAMPS Local hosts All our projects answer the needs of the local communities and are organized for the common good. They are organized in collaboration with local non-profit organizations or with local authorities. Our local partners recognize themselves in the values and goals promoted by CBB: active citizenship, richness of the interculturality and human diversity, importance of youth empowerment and youth participation. The local hosts are deeply involved in the preparation and the implementation of the projects. They are in charge to organize the work and to accompany the volunteers in their tasks. They are also responsible to facilitate the meeting between the international volunteers and the community. It is the local hosts who cover the lodging and food costs of the volunteers. Campleaders One or two group leaders, prepared by CBB, participate in each camp and are responsible to facilitate the community life. These leaders are volunteers, with previous experiences in volunteering projects and who are prepared to lead a group. The campleaders in CBB have a volunteer status, but they receive a little money from our organization (100 /week) in order to cover their costs. The amount provided to the leaders of the teenage camps is more important than for adult camps and could be compared to paid labor. Every year, CBB organizes a specific training (3 days long) for its workcamps leaders. We are also happy to host leaders trained and recommended by our partners.

The group leaders share all the aspects of the workcamp with the international volunteers. They participate in the volunteer tasks as well as in the daily life and in the leisure time activities. In every project, there are also one or two technical leaders who are in charge to organize and to facilitate the work. These technical leaders are workers or volunteers from the local host. They are mainly present during the working days and do not participate in the residential life. Teenager projects CBB proposes every year workcamps for teenagers (15-17 years old). Teenage camps are seen as usual volunteering projects in CBB. They are a tool used to foster the non-formal and informal learning of the participants. There is no difference with an adult camp for what regards the organization and the duration of the work. Like in any camp, the volunteers actively participate in the management of their group life. They decide together about their cultural visits and leisure time activities. They organize their menu and share all the daily life tasks. A participation fee of 150 is charged by CBB for its teenage projects. This is the main difference with the adult camps, which are always free of charge. The money from the participation fees is used to cover: - The extra allowance given to the qualified campleaders - The leisure time activities of the group A parental authorization and medical facts sheet are requested from the volunteers who want to participate in a teenage camp. The volunteers need a personal insurance to cover possible injury or disease costs.

CBB is deeply committed in the ALLIANCE Access for All campaign. We are convinced that the international volunteering projects represent a great added educational value for those who take part in them. This is true for anybody and that s why we do our best to make our projects benefiting to everybody. Beyond the politically correct statement, there are acts to be undertaken. We must recognize that, because of economic, social, educational or geographical difficulties, or because of a disability, some have fewer opportunities to benefit from the learning experience our projects offer to the volunteers. That s why CBB fully subscribes with the ALLIANCE A4A policy. Several places are booked in our projects for volunteers with fewer opportunities. When needed, we can also implement a differentiated registration and follow-up process (using the A4A tools). We reserve places for Access for All placements in the camps where: - Our leaders are experienced and enough prepared to provide the extra-support needed by the volunteer. - The local host is experienced in working with disadvantaged publics or has a long experience in hosting international camps. - Our staff is able to visit often the project and to ensure a reinforced mentorship. We must advertise that it is not because a place is booked for an access for all placement that we will automatically accept a placement request. We must feel able to offer safe hosting conditions and to provide the support needed by the volunteer. On the other hand, an Access for All placement should be requested only if a specific support from our side is necessary. If there is no need of extra support from our side, we do not want to know if you consider, or not, that the volunteer has fewer opportunities. We will just be pleased to host a volunteer. We ask the sending organizations to use the A4A pre-departure form and to provide us with the information we need to know in order to orientate the candidate to a suitable project and to ensure him/her correct hosting conditions. It is a pioneer organization in the field of international voluntary service in Estonia. Our objectives to increase international understanding and solidarity between countries and people; to promote continuous dialogue between young people all over the world; to enable young people by living and working together to learn from each other, discover the variety of cultures, broaden horizons - thus building bridges over differences; to promote international voluntary service in Estonia as a tool for local development and powerful method of non-formal education of the population; to help finding solutions to actual problems in Estonia by means of international voluntary service; to promote global education as one of the solutions for young people in the globalised world. Our activities organize voluntary camps in Estonia and send Estonian volunteers abroad; send Estonian volunteers to mid- and long-term voluntary services abroad; host volunteers from abroad on mid- and long-term projects in Estonia; participate in EVS program as sending, hosting and coordinating organization; 16

organize and run youth cultural exchanges of different kinds, study visits with various themes for youth foreign groups in Estonia and for Estonians abroad; take part in conferences, seminars, trainings abroad and organize those in Estonia. Target groups EstYES works with EstYES works mainly with young people 15 30, but not only with them. Actually EstYES voluntary projects are open to people of all ages without limits. Young people with fewer opportunities are the group of special consideration of EstYES. Our partners From 1994 we have exchanges with branches of SCI (Service Civil International) and from with members of Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations, YAP (Youth Action for Peace) and their partner organizations. In 1996 we established cooperation with ICYE (International Cultural Youth Exchange). In October 1997 EstYES became a member of Alliance. In 2007 EstYES became a member of Coordinating Committee of International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) by UNESCO. Most of our partner organisations belong to the above mentioned networks. Over last 3 years EstYES has been intensively developing cooperation with youth and voluntary service organisations in South East Asia and China. Sources of income EstYES income consists of contributions and subscription fees from the participants of our programs. EstYES also receives grants for the projects from foundations like ASEF, Youth in Action Programme, European Youth Foundation, EuropeAid, etc. EstYES does not receive any support from the state. INTRODUCTION TO ESTYES INTERNATIONAL WORKCAMPS Although there were few attempts to organize workcamps in Estonia in the very beginning of EstYES existence in the first real workcamps took place in There were only 2 of them. Twenty years after in 2014 EstYES plans to host 34 adult projects + 10 teenage camps, offering places to nearly 500 international volunteers and we plan to send more than 100 Estonian volunteers to workcamps abroad. Work Usually our workcamps last about 2-3 weeks and take place from May to September. The number of international volunteers in the camp varies from 3 to 15 on adult projects and can be up to 30 on teenage projects. We try to avoid having more than 2-3 people of the same nationality in the camp. Usually English is a camp language, but there are 2 linguistic camps where common language is French or French, German and Spanish. As a rule volunteers have to work 5-7 hours a day 5-6 days a week for the benefit of local community. Hosts provide food and accommodation as well as social and cultural activities in return. Conditions for participation Volunteers should be over 18 years old, except teenage camps where participants are years old. For the work with kids the minimum age of volunteers is usually 19. There is no maximum age limit. Usually there are no special skills required from volunteers, except camps dealing with kids. Participants should be motivated to 17

do voluntary work, be ready to meet realities of local life and have enough flexibility to accept it, be tolerant and open for the new experience. In some camps (usually work with kids) a motivation letter is required from the volunteer. Camp leaders Usually, in the camp there is one leader, whose task is to be a coordinator and a link between the participants and the host. Leader participates in daily life equally with volunteers. EstYES does invite camp leaders from abroad. In some of the camps the local host takes the leader s role and there is no other formal leader. Insurance In Estonian camps insurance is not provided, therefore volunteers have to bring their own insurance against illness, accident and third party risk. Participants from EU countries should bring EU health insurance form. Some practical matters For the majority of camps volunteers have to bring sleeping bag, work clothes and gloves, summer clothes and swimming suit, but also warm clothes and rain-gear as weather in Estonia is very changeable and really unpredictable. It is vital to have a mosquito cream on project taking place in the country side! Volunteers are also asked to bring information about their country, photos, music, games, etc. On request EstYES is happy to help booking inexpensive hotel to spend some days in Tallinn before/ after the camp. Infosheets Information about our camps provided for TM is already quite detailed. More details like practical information, travel directions, etc. will be sent to partners 3-4 weeks before beginning of the camp as latest. However if accepted participants need any specific information to organise their travel, they may turn for the information to EstYES earlier. International workcamps have been taken place there since During past summers volunteers helped to build sport facilities for local school, cleaned up the school park, and did some renovation jobs at the old graveyard. Besides practical help, the volunteers made a significant impact on community life bringing new dynamics, intercultural exchange and international contacts to local youth. Being inspired by the years of international volunteering experience Kopu Municipality authorities continue hosting international camps and invite international volunteers this summer again. This year international camp will be combined with the national teenage work- and leisure camp taking place in Kopu at the same time. Work Kopu Primary School occupies old German manor house surrounded by the large park. There will be various jobs in the school park, around the school building and other important places in the community - mainly clearing and tidying up of the park as well as other objects such as public playgrounds, local graveyard, surrounding of newly opened visiting centre etc. Another important work is preparing woods for the school 20
