1 Dear Labor Day A La Carte Participant: We are delighted that you will be joining us at Camp Cavell! Please follow the signs to the registration table to check in. If you will be later then 0:00pm please call ahead and leave a message at and we will leave directions to your cabin/tent/rv area on the office door in the Lodge. Just a reminder we are a licensed recreational camp, not a campground... so we have a few policies to follow such as, swimming only when a lifeguard is on duty, campfires are only allowed in our group campfire circles at schedule times, also no pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or firearms allowed. See our "Camp Policies" for more information on the following page. You will need to be out of your cabin/tent/rv area by am, but are welcome to stay and enjoy the camp until after the last meal you have purchased. Make sure you leave time to sweep and straighten up your cabin/tent/rv area (this helps keep camp prices affordable when everyone pitches in to help) mind the kids getting really dirty if they go on a mud hikes. Even older kids decide to join in on the mud hikes when you never thought they would! They must wear long pants, shoes and a shirt! Plan on extra shoes for all the kids, the streams are known for soaking feet. Our heated cabins hold 8 to people. If your cabin is not full you may be placed into a cabin with a compatible group. If you would like to be with a certain family and did not note it on your registration form, please let us know. We have booster chairs in the Dining Hall for toddlers. We are located on beautiful Lake Huron and we will spend lots of time at the beach. You may bring beach toys and rafts. Our lifeguard will determine if it is safe to have them in the water on windy days. We have both shallow areas and a deeper area to swim in. All swimmers (including adults) must abide by camp rules. You may want to bring life preservers for toddlers, we do have some children s sizes. BRING: We will be decorating t-shirts so bring a t-shirt or other piece of clothing! Camp has some t-shirts available for sale. The trading post will be open with a variety of items for sale, support Camp Cavell and shop with us! If the number in your group changes, please notify us as soon as possible. Remember to call at least 8 hours prior to the program if the number in your group changes so you don t have to pay the surcharge! Dress at camp is very casual, so bring comfortable clothes and shoes. Past participants suggest that you also bring along shower shoes, a small floor mat for the cabins and your camera. Don t forget rain gear and flashlights for each person (keep them handy when you arrive). We don t have yard lights. It is very important to bring water shoes that will stay on your feet...there are lots of rocks in the lake! Also throw in a set of camp clothes that you don't Visit our Website! 4 General Rules - Camp Cavell Conservancy By registering to stay at Camp Cavell you and your registered guests or visitors are hereby agreeing to abide by all rules and regulations of the Camp Cavell. Thank you for your cooperation! General Check in time is :00 pm and check out time is :00 am (If you need a special arrangement please contact us or cavellstar@gmail.com) You must camp only in those places specifically provided or marked. In case of emergency call the camp office at and/or 9 if needed. Visitors All visitors must be arranged through the camp office, pay a day use fee of $ and sign in and out. Visitors hours are 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Visitors pass includes use of facilities and non-ticketed activities. Meals tickets may be purchased. You are responsible for the behavior and actions of your visitors. Sanitation Help prevent pollution by keeping garbage, litter, soap, shampoo, and foreign substances out of lakes, streams, and other waters. Trash can be disposed of at the dumpsters near dining hall or in garbage barrels. R.V. sewage should be drained only at a dump station (one is available at Lakeshore State Park-South of Camp on M-5/Lakeshore Road). Showers are available in your cabin or for tent and RV campers on Brookside (south side) of camp in the bathhouse. Campfires & Firewood Campfires are permitted only in designated campfire circles and at scheduled times unless asked in the Main Office. Fires should never be left unattended and must be extinguished (with water, not sand) after use to protect children from harm. Only dead firewood can be collected from the ground. Please no cutting trees. Vehicle Operation Parking will be assigned at registration. Use of any type of motorized vehicles within the camp is limited to entering or leaving on roadways. Speed Limit is 0 MPH. Children Parents are responsible for children at all times. Please do not leave children unattended. Coffee machine cannot be operated by children. Pets and Animals Pets are only permitted in camp on Brookside (southside) and must be confined or on a leash. Please prevent excessive barking and properly dispose of pet waste. Pets (except guide dogs) are not allowed in buildings or swimming areas. Camp Property Preserve and protect our natural environment by leaving natural areas the way you find them. Do not carve, chop, cut and damage any live trees or other parts of camp.

5 Prohibited Items The consumption of alcohol is not permitted on the camp. No person shall possess or consume any controlled substance which constitutes a crime under Federal, State or local law. No person shall have in their possession or control any slingshot, bow and arrow, firearm (including BB Guns, paint guns) or fireworks. No Peddling, hawking, soliciting, begging, advertising or carrying on of a business or commercial enterprise without permission of Camp Cavell. The use of inline skates, skateboards, bicycles, or recreational scooters are prohibited. Public Area Dining Hall and Lodge are open hours. Smoking must be in designated areas only. No Smoking in buildings or restrooms. Special use areas such as waterfront and tree climbing will have posted Rules and Regulations specific to the area's use and users conduct with an instructor present. Quiet Hours All children must be with parents at campsite by 0:00 p.m. Between the hours of :00 p.m. and :00 a.m. no person shall create or cause any noise, which unreasonably disturbs the use or enjoyment of the Campground (including generators). Radios and TV s should not be heard beyond your site. Behavior No loud gatherings or parties, or any violent, abusive, boisterous, loud, illegal, obscene or similar disorderly conduct, which unreasonably interferes with another person's use or enjoyment of a Facility. All persons using the facilities shall comply with the lawful commands, directions and orders of the staff or be evicted. Swimming & Boating Note swimming only permitted with Lifeguard on duty. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No glass is permitted on the beach, no pets permitted in the swimming area. Insurance & Theft Camp Cavell is not responsible in the case of theft, damage caused by natural causes (i.e., tree falling), or another guest. Recreational Equipment Watercraft may only be launched from designated boat launch areas and boaters must adhere to applicable regulations. Other personal equipment that might endanger other campers must be authorised for use on the site through camp office. (ie. archery equipment)
