Kekuanaoa, witness, says he gave permission to Kaanaana and Kapena [w] to occupy this strip of land. March 31, 1848, T.C.B. Beckley/Claim 812 Asa Kaoo Eleele "I hereby relinquish all claims to the lot of land [the pahale at Punahoa, Hilo] in dispute between the ABCFM and myself, situated just makai of the Protestant Church in Hilo Hawaii and beg to withdraw the same from your further consideration." Beckley]is konohiki.. 2. the iii of Pualoalo, Ahupuaa Halawa, District KohaJa, the gift of. H.M. Kamehameha III since reverted to the Hawaiian Government, and sold to Kaihe.. 3. A houselot, situated on Ahupuaa Punahoa, in the district of Hilo, bought of Asa Kaoo. This lot was disputed by Kalakuaioha, now claimed by the Mission Board [See Ff above]. 4. Kanehailua, sworn, deposed: I know this lot a portion of land in kula ofwaimea Ahupuaa Kohala called Owahawaba [Waawaa]; it is enclosed by a stonewall, has one house on it belonging to Lakapu the man employed by William Beckley to take care of it, but he has no right in the soil. The gift of Kamehameha III A.D. 1845, it is bounded on all sides by waste land of Konohiki.. Kanakaole, sworn, deposed: That the evidence of Kanehailua was true. They knew of no counter claim. 5. James Fay, sworn, deposed: Knew the houselot of William Beckley to be situated on the IIi Waikani, Ahupuaa Waimea, Kohala, and that he bought it of Robert Robinson. I do not know the exact amount he paid for it. It.is surrounded on all sides by the waste or uncultivated land of the konohiki. I have never heard his claim disputed. [Filed with George Beckley'sProbate 147(1 CC; AH) is the. following document, which pertains to the above land: "I [A.H. Fayerweather, attny. for the heirs of Goo. Beckley] also claim as attorney for William Beckley a certain enclosure situated in Waimea...sold to said Wm. Beckley by Robert Robinson as appears by Bill of Sale dated 1840, built upon and uninterruptedly occupied since. "] BILL OF SALE: This is to certify that I Robert Robertson [sic, but signed Robinson] sold to [blank] Beckley all right and title to the premisesat Waimea n~woccupiedby me and from hence forth they are William.
