1 August 15, 2006 Health First Network, Inc. Update Effective August 31, 2006, the contractual agreement between Health Options, Inc. (HOI) and Health First Network Inc. (HFNI) will terminate. This group contract represents approximately 550 multi-specialty physicians in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties. As the membership continues to increase in our new BlueOptions product, decreasing membership in Health Options (our HMO product, BlueCare) will result in increased risk for HFNI under a capitated agreement. Both Health Options and Health First Network want to emphasize that the spirit of this termination is one of cooperation between both parties. We are continually striving to meet the needs of the market and changing environment of the healthcare industry. In reviewing our contracting options, we endeavor to provide and maintain access to the most appropriate, costeffective quality care for our members through our provider network access. It is our goal to ensure a smooth contracting effort in order for this transition to remain transparent to our members, and to help make the process more efficient for physicians and their staff. We have allowed ample time for physicians to review the new contract information, agree to it and enable system updates before the termination date. Providers received individual HOI contracts to review and sign at the end of February. Attached is a listing of physicians who have not completed necessary credentialing and contracting requirements as of 8/11/06: "HFNI Phys.xls" While we are working hard to assist these providers in completing credentialing and recontracting efforts, these physicians are now in jeopardy of termination from the HOI network and member reassignment effective September 1st. Again, our Network team will continue outreach to these physicians in the next few weeks with the urgency to complete the process and maintain uninterrupted care management. Health Options Inc. is working with the HFNI group to support any transition of care services that may be required for our members. A communication will be sent out the week of August 28th to update you on our progress. We appreciate your continued support of this effort.
