8 WENONAH POLICE DEPARTMENT Chief William J. Rogers ext 117 The Wenonah Police Department would like to remind residents that you are our eyes and ears of the borough. I strongly encourage the residents of Wenonah to call in all activity they feel is suspicious by dialing 911 and providing the Gloucester County dispatcher with the information. The reporting of incidents should be done as they are taking place, or soon thereafter. Assisting and apprehending is more effective at the time the incident is occurring rather than in hindsight. Residents may call the office at any time at /6263. For immediate emergencies dial 911. William J. Rogers Chief of Police

24 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS The Public Works Department, under the supervision of Ken Trovarelli begins their day at 7:00 A.M. handling a wide variety of tasks within our borough. Depending on the season, they take care of snow removal, mow our municipal grounds (including the park and ball fields), and prepare the beach and playground at the Wenonah Lake for the member s summer fun. There are also the bulk leaf, branch and containerized yard waste collections throughout town. Other duties include emergency tree removal, water and sewer backup emergencies, curb and sidewalk installations, and water testing. In addition to all of those tasks, Public Works collects your metal products (appliances and scrap metal) for recycling, and re-arranges the council room set up for meetings and elections. Please refer to the guidelines printed in this calendar for information on branch, yard waste, bulk leaf pickup, recycling and snow removal. BULK LEAF COLLECTION Beginning the week of October 15th and ending on the week of December 10th Please DO NOT put leaves in bags or containers. Where should I put my leaves? During bulk leaf collection, please place leaves in the street. Place leaves far enough from the curb line to allow water to flow past the storm water catch basins. Leaves should be placed a minimum of 10 feet from all storm water catch basins. Please DO NOT place leaves near a parked car. Adequate space is required for borough large leaf removal equipment. Can I put other material with my leaves? Do not mix large shrubs, limbs or branches in with leaves. If these items are mixed in, or are on top of the leaves, they cannot be picked up. Pine needles may be included with leaves. See Branches for Chipping and Yard Waste guidelines. When will my leaves be picked up? Leaves will be picked up on a continuous rotating basis throughout Wenonah beginning on the week of October 15th and ending on the week of December 10th. These dates are dependent upon the weather, Public Works schedule, and in-town emergencies. SNOW REMOVAL GUIDELINE When snow is expected, please make every attempt to park your vehicle in a driveway. If you must park in the street, use the odd-even system to facilitate snowplowing: If the storm is expected on an odd numbered day, park on the odd-numbered side of the street. If the storm is expected on an even numbered day, park on the even-numbered side of the street. Please clear your sidewalks within 12 hours of snow fall. If possible, wait until the borough plows have passed before shoveling your driveway.
