(If Reeds Spring schools close due to weather, we do not have meetings.) Membership dues are $15 for an individual and $18 for a family. Dues were due in August. Lampe, MO Weekly Carve-Ins Kimberling City Senior Center Every Tuesday at noon (come for lunch) MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING February & March, 2017 The February and March meetings were called to order at 2pm by president Andrew Mease. There were only 6 members in attendance in February but we had a larger group in March. Unfortunately the secretary had to leave so I don t have all the details. Please read the rest of the newsletter to get the details of what was discussed during the meeting I am not repeating the information here. OLD & NEW BUSINESS: Facebook Andrew Mease has created a Facebook page for the club. You can access it through the following link. Andrew has started posting OMW on Face Book and needs pictures and profiles of members. Please go on and like the page, share your comments and send Andrew pictures to add to the page. Mountain Home The North Arkansas Woodcarvers Woodcarving Show is May 6 & 7 in Mountain Home. Once again the club will sponsor ½ of your table fee if you should choose to attend. You can get your own table or share a table with a fellow carver. This show is always a lot of fun. Registration forms can be found on their website. 2 Club Classes Two classes were scheduled during the Tuesday carving sessions. March 21 - Tool Sharpening by Gerry Gerhart March 28 - How to Carve Eyes led by Denny Villwok (based on Stu Martin s DVD) If you would like to (or are willing to) teach a class let Andrew know and we will get it scheduled New Members We have 2 new members: Bruce Biersborn Bruce is from California. He decided to join the club after attending Izo s class in Lampe so he would be aware of what is going on in this neck of the woods. Mike Brown Mike is a returning member from Shell Knob. Please join me in welcoming Bruce and Mike to the club. Bruce Biersborn Mike Brown Izo Becic Class Several members along with out of town carvers attended Izo Becic s class Mar in Lampe. There was lots of carving, lots of conversation and lots of food. It was a great class. We plan to do it again next March 12 16, This year s attendees have first right of refusal for the class next year and there are 5 on the waiting list so if you are interested in attending let me know soon. If you can t get into the March 12 th class Izo will also be at the Ozarks Woodcarving Seminar in Springfield the following week. Here are few pictures from the class. 6 Show & Tell Denny s noodle cutter was the only Show & Tell entry in February. Unfortunately we don t have a picture of it. We had 3 entries in March.
