1 LSYC Cruises Lake Erie July 9-15, 2006 Sunday & Monday July 9-10 Pelee Island, Scudder s Marina, Scudder Marina 351 North Shore Rd. Pelee Island, ONT Public washrooms, shower facilities and a picnic area It can be difficult to get in and out of the harbor and docks in strong north or northeast winds. Docks are reserved based on RSVP s to LSYC. Customs/immigration Once you land, your passengers are supposed to stay aboard. One representative of your vessel goes ashore. Most marinas will provide a phone, or at least a payphone with the customs number nearby (888-CAN- PASS) Once you get the conf. number, you're all clear. Canada makes the customs/immigration issue simple. If you've ever entered Canada on your boat before, you'll typically just need your boating registration numbers and the names of your passengers. As long as there aren't any flags for firearms or excess alcohol/tobacco, you'll have a confirmation number in minutes. If you've never called in before, they may ask for the description of your vessel, registration numbers, names, citizenship, DOB of your passengers etc. It's no big deal.

2 The best part about Pelee Island is going to the winery. Do the tour/wine tasting in the afternoon. Then purchase a bottle or two of your favorites, head over to the 'deli hut' (on their property) and buy a couple of steaks, chops, burgers, sausage or chicken, some cheese and freshly baked bread. Enjoy the wine and cheese while barbequing on the provided BBQs and then enjoy a nice dinner. The winery will usually provide transportation to and from Scudder's. Thursday & Friday July Put-in-Bay Returning to the U.S. Customs/immigration (Our customs/immigration don't keep a database, don't communicate with each other and do nothing to facilitate reporting, so you will need the boat registration number and names of all on board available and a list of items purchased in Canada. You will be given a clearance number, which should be recorded in your ship s log. Everyone on board without an I-68 will need to use the videophone located at the Dockmaster s building at Put-in-Bay (in the park by the bathhouse.) Put-in-Bay's downtown public marina has three large docks. The Village of Put-in-Bay leases dock space on A and C docks. DeRivera Park, where the village's bathhouse is located, leases docking space on B Dock. The DeRivera Park Trust uses the revenue from B Dock for the maintenance of the park area downtown. All three public marina docks have mandatory rafting rules and watercraft may be required to raft off up to four vessels abreast.

3 For the Village of Put-in-Bay (A & C Docks) Monitor channel 9 basis. Put-in-Bay Township Port Authorities Mooring Buoys also offer dockage to boaters. Most do not accept reservations and availability is on a first come Put-in-Bay Mooring Buoys: 81 mooring buoys in the downtown harbor are maintained by the Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority and are available for rent to watercraft 52 feet and under for $27 per day during the week and $35 per day on the weekend. The Boardwalk Water Taxi (see below) provides unlimited shuttle service between the buoys and the Boardwalk dock. Harbor Taxi: The Boardwalk Harbor Taxi provides shuttle service between the mooring buoys and the Boardwalk. Water taxi hours are 8 am to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 7 am to 1 am on Friday and Saturday. Call No tours. Monitoring channel 10. Public Bathhouse: The village operates a public bathhouse with restroom and shower facilities in DeRivera Park across from the downtown harbor and public marina. Be sure to bring quarters for the shower. DeRivera Park office is also located within the facility. 5 o o Call the number listed on the phone and follow the oral instructions. o o The video phone at Put-in-Bay is often not working. If you run into this problem, make a notation in your log with date and time that the call was attempted. You will have fulfilled your requirements. All family members must be present at the time of application o o Each applicant must have the following: 3 1 ½ x1 ½ inch passport photos. These can be done with digital cameras and home printers ID and proof of citizenship A current or old passport Picture ID and birth certificate Payment in check, cash, money order, or credit card (only at airport) Passports will be required for all boarder crossings as of Jan. 1, 2008 (current proposal, can change) Nexus cards now available for Lake Erie crossings.
