1 HOSTEL ALLOTMENT POLICY FOR SENIORS : GENERAL HOSTEL ALLOTMENT FOR : GENERAL INFORMATION 1. The Hostel Allotment Process for Senior students for will start from 01 February, The link will be operative on the Front page of MU Website/ION Login page with effect from 01 February, The process of Hostel Allotment will involve the following steps:- 1 ST STAGE OF ALLOTMENT : (For All Senior students of MIT/FOA/DOC/SOC/SOIS/SOM/ ICAS/DOS/SAP) Registration for allotment & issue of Password - 01 February 15 March,2017 Online Application for Hostel Accommodation - 16 March 16 April, 2017 Check individual Hostel Allotment in hostel.manipal.edu - 01 June 25 June, 2017 Online Payment (mandatory). System generated receipt will be the Hostel Allotment letter. (Online payment is preferable) - 01 June 25 June, nd STAGE OF ALLOTMENT: (26 June 05 July, 2017) For students who registered but could not apply earlier/did not register & apply earlier - 26 June 05 July, 2017 Check individual Allotment and pay online. System generated receipt will be the Hostel Allotment letter July 25 July, 2017 Hostel Allotment of the Students who do not make the online payment before the stipulated date will be cancelled. 2. Hostel Allotment Procedure for seniors is given as under:- CRITERION & PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION IMPORTANT DATES & DATA PAYMENT PROCEDURE

2 CRITERION & PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION 3. ONLY ONLINE APPLICATIONS will be accepted from eligible students (Batch 2014 to 2016). Students Debarred on disciplinary grounds will not be permitted to apply. 4. All 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th year FOA students may apply for Seniors hostel accommodation. For opting to move out of Hostels, students need to seek permission from their Parents in writing duly endorsed by respective HODs and forwarded by Associate Director (SA) and Chief Warden for Director s sanction. The forms are available in the SA Office, MIT. NO (No) postdated refund applications will be accepted at a later date. 5. With effect from onwards, full details of Students Residence Addresses will be maintained by CW office for Hostelites and SA Office for Non Hostelites. NRI student details will be kept by the District police authorities. 6. CRITERION FOR ALLOTMENT Discipline/Watch List Cases will not be considered for AC Accommodation. 13,14,15 NIH - C Blocks (AC) - CGPA > 7.5 Deluxe Single AC in 19, 20, 21 Blocks - CGPA > 7.5 Single Attach Rooms in 10 th Block - CGPA > 8.0 8, 9, 21 Blocks (Non AC) - CGPA > 7.5 Medical Cases - (Relaxation of 0.5 in CGPA) NRI Students - (Relaxation of 0.5 in CGPA) Balance Blocks will be in descending order of CGPA (3,4,10 & D Blocks) In case of joint application by 2 or 3 students, average of CGPA will be considered. In the case of 2016 batch, only the GPA of 1 st semester will be considered.

3 In a joint application NO benefit of NRI (0.5 CGPA) or higher CGPA can be claimed by the student separately. MEDICAL CASES with KMC certification only (NO ASTHMA CASES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR AC ACCOMMODATION). No other medical certificates will be considered. Submission of Medical certificates will be done latest by 15 April NO certificate will be accepted after 15 April 2017.The medical cases are also required to select the option in online application. Note : Regency Hostels will be Blocked for B.Arch. students only. 4. IMPORTANT LISTS : Debarred/ Review list will be uploaded 1 st time in Dec.2016 and subsequently updated in Jan, Feb & March Watch List (But not Debarred) will not be considered for AC accommodation. 5. IMPORTANT DATES & DATA : 1 ST STAGE OF ALLOTMENT: Registration for online application & - 01 February 15 March, 17 Issue of passwords (By ) Application by students - 16 March 16 April, 17 Checking individual allotment and Online Payment. (In the link hostel.manipal.edu) - 01 June - 25 June, 17 (Students who do not pay will be removed from the Allotment List. The payment will be considered only on the day of confirmation by the Finance Section of the receipt of the amount in their account. Hence, students are advised to make payment by online method only.)

4 2 nd STAGE OF ALLOTMENT Registration of Online Application - 26 June - 05 July, 2017 (For students who could not apply earlier or whose names were removed from allotment due to non-payment of hostel fees) Checking individual allotment and Online Payment July, 2017 EARLIEST DATE OF HOSTEL OCCUPATION PERMITTED - 01 st Aug IMPORTANT NOTES : 1. In the Hostel allotment details all details of the payment required will appear. After online payment, a system generated receipt can be printed and saved by the student. The receipt will be the Hostel allotment letter and the student will be permitted entry to allotted hostel only on production of the downloaded receipt to the Caretaker. To avoid delay or Non communication, students are advised to pay by Online method only. Details of RTGS/Draft will be considered as confirmed only on the day when the finance section confirms receipt to the Chief Warden Office. This usually takes upto 10 days & in the case of Non-confirmation of payment, the allotment of affected students will be cancelled. Finance Department will confirm the names of the students (Who have paid the hostel fees) by 30 June The students who have not paid their fees by 02 July 2017 will be removed from the allotment list. 2. Students who have not applied on time during 1 st Stage may apply after 25 June, 2017 in the 2 nd Stage. Online application form will be available from 26 June to 05 July, 2017 only in the link : hostel.manipal.edu
