10 Tim and Jill s house is now worth 145, 000. The estate agent wants them to put it on the market for 140, 000 so that it sells quickly. Tim thinks that it will take at least six months to sell the house. Tim thinks the sale price of his house will follow exactly the same trend over the next six months as in the previous graph. He will put the house on the market for 140, 000 but only if there is a chance the house will be worth less than this after six months. Task 1f If this trend continues, how many months would it be before Tim and Jill s house is worth less than 140, 000? Do you advise Tim and Jill to put the house on the market for 145, 000 or 140, 000? Explain your reason fully, showing all your working on the next page.
