4 Tim and Jill put their house up for sale. They bought it six years ago for 96, 000. Three houses similar to Tim and Jill s house are already up for sale on their street. Here are their sale prices: 3 Oakfield Road 144, Oakfield Road 149, Oakfield Road 139, 500 Tim wants to put their house up for a sale price which makes them at least half as much again as the amount they paid for it Jill thinks they should put their house up for a sale price which is no more than the mean price of the other sale prices above. 10 Tim and Jill s house is now worth 145, 000. The estate agent wants them to put it on the market for 140, 000 so that it sells quickly. Tim thinks that it will take at least six months to sell the house. Tim thinks the sale price of his house will follow exactly the same trend over the next six months as in the previous graph. He will put the house on the market for 140, 000 but only if there is a chance the house will be worth less than this after six months. Task 1f If this trend continues, how many months would it be before Tim and Jill s house is worth less than 140, 000?
