Speaking of Potluck, A little more A little less If you have been one of the last tables called on Wednesday night potluck, you ll understand these requests. With so many now in the park, often there is slim pickins for the last in line. We have two requests to make this a more positive experience for everyone. We re asking if you would please consider bringing a larger amount of food to share, say enough to serve people. Also, those who go ahead of others, to consider taking a little smaller portion of food. Pancake & Sausage Breakfast Feb 23 rd 8 am Pancake Breakfast, includes sausage patty, coffee and juice. $4.00 per person. Bring your own personal place setting. Sign up on the food board if you plan to attend. 1 of 4
2 50/50 Split Fund Raisers The 50/50 fund raisers drawings are generally held after the 1 st and 3 rd potlucks. However, for the month of February, they will be held after the 1 st and 4 th potluck since we will have a program following the 3 rd potluck on Feb. 20. Remember the winner gets half and the Activity Fund receives half. The drawing helps fund free events and equipment needs. We need volunteers to sell tickets before the meals. See your block captain if you would like to help. Judy Tucker Indoor Activities Coordinator (jmtucker@q.com) Library A big thank you to Herb Polachek who keeps all the donated books and magazines in the Library labeled, shelved and alphabetized. 3 Anne Reslock Kitchen Coordinator As we remain in the high flu and cold season, I want to remind everyone who works in the kitchen that plastic gloves are to be worn when preparing food, handling food and serving food. These are requirements from Pima County Health Dept. Your cooperation with this requirement is greatly appreciated. Many thanks to Jim and Cynthia McNine for doing the Saturday Potluck breakfasts for the past months. Volunteers like Jim and Cynthia make this park a great place to live. Survey Coming Watch your mail box for a short survey coming to all residents in early February. The survey will ask for information on the various types of activities going on in the park. It'll pertain both to the things run by the Activities Committee members and also things organized by other individuals and groups. Please take the time to complete it with your evaluations and include any suggestions for the future. It'll also be a great place to volunteer to manage/teach new activities or classes you might want to run. If there are any questions, contact Glenn Erdmann, GVRV Resort Activities Committee. (glennlois2317@yahoo.com) Pat and Pat Williams will be doing the Potluck Breakfasts this month. If a sign up sheet is posted for the Saturday Potluck breakfast, it will be happening, no sign up sheet, no breakfast will take place. The other members address as follows: Beverly Yoki - Arts & Crafts Coordinator (lbyoki@q.com) Sonny Schneider - Outdoor Activities Coordinator (idealdonw@aol.com) Steve Lampey Publicist (slampey@msn.com) GVRV Car Rally & Poker Run Mark Friday, March 15th on your calendar for the 4th GVRV car rally & poker run. We have 3 different venues for you to visit and will then meet at the clubhouse at the end of the day for a catered dinner and present prizes for the best poker hands. The second venue you will visit is a great place for a picnic and we encourage you to take along a lunch and enjoy the scenery and serenity. Participation will be limited to park residents and guests who are staying with them until March 1st, at which time we will open it up to people outside the Park. Questions?
