2 Rendezvous XXV Event Packet Rev Org Page 2 of 10 Advance Move-In and Setup Available For Pre-Registered Troops Camp Suzanne is locked during the week however please note: troops assume all responsibility for property or equipment left unattended. You must be Pre-Registered with a campsite assigned and reserved to take advantage of this option. The Rendezvous staff member on site will not be able to assign campsites or accept payments. The camp will be open Thursday April 5 by noon for clean-up or trailer drop off. No Entry Until Noon Opening Interactive Camp Suzanne Map Campsite Information Available On-Line Pick the campsite you want this year on-line at The interactive campsite map will let you view a photo of the campsite, see an estimate of how many tents will fit in the site, the distance from water and toilet facilities, the current reservation status and the proximity to the program area. Please request your top 3 campsite preferences when registering. The Registration Chairman will attempt to assign campsites based on troop preference, taking into consideration the total number of participants in the unit being registered, and the current registration status of the campsite. Campsite assignments will be made after the pre-registration deadline and are subject to change. If you have a troop trailer in camp please move it far enough into the campsite to allow 1 vehicle to park in front of it, completely off the road and within the limits of your campsite. Special Note For Vehicles On Friday Night Move-In A Scout Is Courteous.. Traffic flow and literally hundreds of cars on a single lane camp road have always made Friday night checkin a nightmare for both troops and Rendezvous staff. The biggest problem is making sure that when a troop is unloading and moving into their campsite they do not block the road to every other campsite past them. This can back up traffic for ½ mile and cause frustration and delays for every other troop attending the event. This year, Rendezvous staff will be enforcing a strict 1-car per troop on the road at a time policy. Check-in will be done in upper field by council fire ring. Troops should plan on arriving as a group and then load all their gear into a single vehicle if necessary at the parking area. If multiple trips are required the first vehicle must return to the check-in before the second may enter camp. Parking in the upper field is restricted to Vendors, Staff, Emergency Vehicles, and special needs by permit only. Campsite Inspection Required Before Checkout When a troop is ready to leave, a member of the Rendezvous staff must inspect the campsite before the event patches will be given to the unit leader. Unfortunately, this is necessary after last year s event when some campfires were not fully extinguished. WEBELOS Camping At Rendezvous XXV 2 nd year Webelos are invited to Rendezvous if they are registered with an attending Troop and have 1 parent/adult per family. (Webelos Camping Rules). See the Trading Blankets section for special opportunities available for these Webelos on Saturday.

Once you attend a safety lecture during the day, all shooters will be given a plastic band to ware. If you come back later to shoot, you will not need to attend the safety speech a second time. We hope this will reduce frustration and allow more time to practice your marksman skills. As always, it is the determination of the people working the range as to if you are practicing safe shooting. They are in control of the range when it is being used. Please follow their directions. The range for black powder will be open through the morning session and afternoon session. It will be closed for lunch time to allow all the volunteers on the range to eat and get some rest. For the afternoon, you will need to wait till the range instructor s return Please do not bring your own rifle, powder or balls. Everything you need for the black powder shooting will be provided. This includes all the shooting sports. All the arrows, bows, sling shots and other items are provided. We are not allowed to let scouts or scouters bring their own for these events

9 Rendezvous XXV Event Packet Rev. Org Page 9 of 10 Rendezvous Trading Blankets Everything you wanted to know, and probably some you didn t... Rules for Blanket Traders Trading blankets have become one of the most popular events at the Rendezvous and here is what you need to know to become a Blanket Trader yourself! No money can be exchanged - Barter only. If you are observed asking for money, your blanket and all goods will be confiscated and you will be asked to leave the area. You items will be returned to your Scoutmaster after he/she is notified. No sheath knives, throwing stars, swords (wooden or metal) or other weapons not allowed by BSA regulations or your Scoutmaster - make sure you read the last word in the underlined sentence. Your Scoutmaster can impose other restrictions as needed. If any prohibited items are observed on your blanket you will be asked to remove them. If they are seen as second time, they will be confiscated and returned to your Scoutmaster after he/she is notified. Other than these two Rules you are free to trade whatever treasures you can bring with you. Rules for Traders Trading blankets have become one of the most popular events at the Rendezvous and here is what you need to know to make successful trades as a Trader! No money can be exchanged - If anyone asks you to pay money for an item, DON T DO IT. This is against the rules. Go immediately to one of the traders that are dressed in Native American clothing (regalia) and point out the person who asked for money. Any blanket trader or customer caught paying for a trade with money will be asked to leave the area and their Scoutmasters will be notified. Barter - Deal - And Deal Some More! - Bartering for something without money is an art. Trading blankets are not like a store. Someone may want something that you don t have, but since they are stuck at their blanket and can t find it, you have the ability to go to another blanket, find that item and trade for it, then come back and trade for what you originally wanted. This is what makes trading blankets so much fun! If someone says No to a trade, add items or ask What would you trade for that? If you see something that you want to trade for... keep trying and trading up with other traders until you can make the trade you want!
