Reported: 10/25/13-8:02 am Location: ADAMS BL & FIGUEROA ST Report #: Occurred: 10/25/13-8:02 am to 10/25/13-9:16 am TRAFFIC Traffic Collision With Injuries DPS officers responded to a traffic collision involving three vehicles, two of which were driven by students. One of the students complained of pain to her neck, so an LAFD RA unit was requested. RA Unit #810 responded and examined the student, then transported her to California Hospital for medical treatment. Reported: 10/25/13-8:48 pm Location: 37TH ST & CATALINA ST Report #: Occurred: 10/25/13-8:40 pm to 10/25/13-8:55 pm Cleared Arrest WARRANT Probation/Parole Violation A non-usc male reported that he observed several suspects arguing near the location then heard what he believed to be the sound of a gunshot. DPS officers responded and detained two of the suspects, but they found no evidence of a gun being fired in the area. A check of the suspects' names revealed that one of them was in violation of his parole and he was subsequently arrested by LAPD officers who responded to the scene. The second suspect was questioned and released. The student remained unconscious when contacted by the officers, so an LAFD RA unit was requested. The student flagged down passing DPS officers and two of the suspects were detained as they fled on foot. A witness stated that he observed one of the suspects drop the phone prior to being detained and it was subsequently recovered. The student positively identified the phone, then the suspect who had it in his possession was arrested and transported to MDC for booking. The officers observed that the male had a bump on his head, but he could not recall how he sustained the injury. An LAFD RA unit was requested and Unit #15 responded. The RA Unit examined the male then released him at the scene. 18 Reported: 10/27/13-4:27 pm Location: PERTUSATI UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE Report #: Occurred: 10/27/13-4:22 pm to 10/27/13-4:22 pm Cleared Arrest THEFT-PETTY Plain Retail Unit officers monitoring surveillance cameras observed a suspect pick up a hat and a pair of socks and place them in a backpack he was carrying. The officers detained the suspect when he exited the store without paying for the merchandise and he was taken into custody by DPS officers who responded to the scene. The suspect was then arrested and transported to 77th station for booking. The officers were unable to locate the owners of the bikes to determine if a crime had occurred and they were subsequently impounded at the DPS office. A check of the suspects' names revealed that one of them had an outstanding warrant, then he was arrested and transported to S/W station for booking. The other two suspects were determined to be juveniles and they were released to their guardians after being cited for curfew violations.
