GARDENSONG REVIEWS The owner of this place has put tons of TLC into the look, evident from the moment you pullup to the historic home to the look of things inside. We stayed in the Nat King Cole Suite on the first floor, so I can't speak to the property's upper chambers, but that suite was large, luxurious and ever so comfortable. The luxury bathroom was enormous and the king sized four-poster bed was amazing. Check out the "electric" toilet, too. Crazy! You choose breakfast the night before (7:30 or 8:30 a.m. - your choice), leave a paper on the dining room table and the house chef shows up the next morning and gives you a wonderful send off to your day in Natchez. We had great little omelettes. In general, people couldn't be friendlier in this town and that goes for the owner/chef combination here. Location-wise, it's possible to stay closer to the river and therefore be closer to the promenade. But honestly, everything there is to see in Natchez is rather spread out and you're probably using your car to get to all of it, anyway. And with all the free parking around town, it really doesn't matter much where you stay. This is on a quiet street with plenty of parking, a nice neighborhood in which to stroll, but also only a few minutes' drive to the river (you could probably also walk there if the weather was nice, without much trouble). A beautiful property with a nice grand piano in the sitting room, comfy sitting area, a nice little garden and within minutes of Melrose (the Park Service mansion), Longwood (highly recommended) and the waterfront. Natchez is beautiful and this place is one of its jewels. PA Birds, A Trip Adviser Review, October 2017 Such a wonderful experience!! You simply must stay at Garden Song! Didn't get to meet Dan but Kevin was such a delight and blessing to meet!! I will definitely be coming back...and staying a day or two longer. Melissa, October 2017 Friendly, comfortable, historic, and unique. Natchez has a lot of B & B's, but this place has the atmosphere and feel of coming home. Leonard, October 2017 This B&B exceeded our expectations. Clear instructions on check-in, amazing location and beautiful home/grounds! I loved that there was a bottle of wine waiting for us! Dan was so hospitable even though he couldn't be there in person. It was a real treat feeling like we owned the home as we were the only ones staying there that night. Kevin was a gem the next morning serving us a tasty breakfast and exuding pure and honest hospitality and showing us a love for the area. I can't say enough good things about this B&B! Anna, October 2017 It s not often that I can say that all our expectations were exceeded, but that s exactly what we experienced during our GardenSong stay. Accommodations were fabulous, comfortable, and convenient, but Dan s hospitality was beyond measure! In addition to being a knowledgeable historian and storyteller, his musical talents were amazing! Kevin, in addition to being a great cook, was a very welcoming and engaging co-host who just made us feel so at-home! Don, October 2017
Awesome stay, fantastic host. Highly recommend. Diane, October 2017 It's hard to put into words what you will experience at Garden Song. The best way I can describe it is with the words of the hymn "Surely the Spirit of the Lord is in this place". Dan is a warm, talented and knowledgeable host and shares these talents with all who stay there. And our chef, Kevin, is not only a wonderful cook but when he is not cooking he is a pastor and counselor with a real genuine love for the Lord and all the guests. What a dynamic duo this is! You will not find this in many other places and don't miss it if you are visiting Natchez! Joel, October 2017 Thoroughly enjoyed staying at Garden Song! The room was lovely, the sitting areas are very nicely appointed with wonderful antiques, and Kevin makes the most scrumptious breakfast! Overall, a wonderful experience! Will be back!! David, October 2017 Perfect downtown B&B, awesome king bed, close to everything within a short drive. The southern breakfast served made it worth the trip. The gardens are so peaceful and we enjoyed the front porch rockers. We will try to come back! Beverly, October 2017 The breakfast that Kevin prepared was amazing. Patrick, October 2017 Dan's place was fantastic and all that we envisioned for our stay in Natchez. The master bedroom and bathroom were perfect for us. The bathroom was awesome and HUGE! The bed was amazingly comfortable. While we were unable to meet Dan (he was out of town at a conference), his friend Scott helped us with questions and made us feel right at home. The sun parlor had a small fridge that was stocked with cold beer, wine, and drinks---a very nice touch! Breakfast in the morning was deliciously fantastic. Kevin, the chef, was one of the nicest people we have ever met; a real storyteller and gentleman. We'd highly recommend Dan's house for anyone traveling to Natchez, which itself was an amazing town filled with history. Sandra, September 2017 Unforgetable. My family and I stayed at the GardenSong for a week. We were evacuating from Huricane Irma and my husband had work in Natchez. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It is more than a bed and breakfast, it is a home away from home. The house is as beautiful as the people who own and run it.the rooms are spacious and cozy, the neighborhood quiet and friendly. It is close to everything within walking distance. Dan is amazing, a very talented musician who plays piano and sings. Taking our minds off the impending storm. My son enjoyed him very much. Watching him do his woodworking and teaching him all about the history of Natchez. Kevin is more than an amazing chef, he is someone you can talk with and learn from. Being in this home is like something out of a movie. The people make it so full of life. Robert the gardener and his wife Cookie also add to this experience with great
conversation and helpfulness. Shirley gives great hugs just when you need one most. A lot of the time when you are traveling you can feel a little alone, but not here. This house couldn't be more comfortable complete with new friends and a family. We will defiantly be back and wouldn't stay anywhere else. A TripAdvisor Review, September 2017 Awesome stay in a beautiful home. Our bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was out of this world. I'm so happy that we chose GardenSong. Such a great place to stay! Chris, September 2017 Beautiful home! We just stayed in this lovely B & B. We loved every minute. The rooms were very comfortable, the owner, Dan, was so personable, and the chef/manager, Kevin, was amazing. He cooked delicious breakfasts and was so friendly and gracious that he made us feel so welcome. Dan told us some great stories about the home and even played a little piano in the morning while we waited for breakfast. Shiree T, Marshall TX, A Trip Advisor Review, September 2017 There were so many nice extra touches at Gardensong. The house is beautifully decorated, clean, and the gardens are gorgeous. If you can, take a stroll at sunset through the neighborhood on out to the river. It is a lovely walk amongst the historic homes and the sunset over the river is beautiful. Then be prepared to enjoy a tasty and nutritious breakfast in the morning prepared by Kevin. :-) Tracy, September 2017 A Most Satisfying Stay. Our three couples LOVED our overnight stay. One problem. It was too short. To fix that we will be coming back again. Kevin's breakfast was fabulous. Dan's piano playing and tour were exceptional. All the rooms were very interesting and inviting. Lovely visit. We know God will be blessing this place. PonyMimi, Texas, A Trip Advisor Review, September 2017 What gems Natchez and Dan's house were! Lovely neighbourhood, very close to everything and amazing hosts - very friendly and knowledgeable. Should've planned more than a night in Natchez for sure! Lavinia, September 2017 Awesome place to stay. Comfortable beds, clean and welcoming rooms. The breakfast was very good. Parking right in front which made easy in and out. Patricia, September 2017 Dan's place is second to none in beautiful Natchez! Our stay was one of the best we have ever experienced through Airbnb. We highly recommend! Adison, September 2017 Garden Song is a wonderful home. I highly recommend it to everyone. Dan is a graciuos host. Chef Kevin creates wonderful breakfast.
Albert, September 2017 We loved our stay. The house and grounds are lovely and comfortable. Dan is very gracious as a host and Chef Kevin's breakfast was out of this world! Dan entertained us on the piano and gave a wonderful history of the house and area as well as great sightseeing tips. We will definitely be back! Rebecca, September 2017 Words cannot possibly express the amazing time we had at Garden Song!! Dan was a great host and a great musician and historian! We enjoyed all the music at the piano and listening to the story of this beautiful home. Our room far exceeded any expectations we could have had, and Kevin fixed a breakfast fit for royalty! If you are ever in Natchez, don't miss this fantastic place to stay!! Judy, September 2017 Amazing house! Quite an experience to stay there, and Dan's hosting were outstanding. A really historic building with interesting, somewhat eclectic decor and fantastic to hear Dan tell its stories and entertain with some songs on the piano. Dan was also really helpful with recommandations. Beautiful garden, beautiful view and beautiful street. Our room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Common areas were inviting, and it was a fine thing to have breakfast together at one table all five guests. Kevin's cooking was great, and delicious, rather heavy meal. We found Natchez itself very beautiful, although rather deserted on a Saturday night - however the view over Mississippi river is outstanding. Also, the town also has a lot of history to explore. Anne Sofie, August 2017 Didn't want to leave! The location is ideal, in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. We stayed in the Cole Porter Suite. It is spacious and cozy with very comfortable beds. I can't say enough about the hospitality extended to us by Dan and Kevin. We met as strangers and I feel we left as friends. Although Dan was busy preparing for a photo shoot for a local magazine, he took the time to play the piano and sing for us as well as give us a tour and history of the house. He stayed with us until we were ready to leave for the day. After serving our delicious breakfast, Kevin, too, took time to sit down and talk to us. I feel we were meant to stay at Garden Song and I know the experience will stay with me. Jeshelman, Akron, OH, A Trip Advisor Review, 2017 We stayed two nights in Natchez at Dan's historic airbnb. The house is downtown Natchez, and you can walk almost anywhere in under 20 minutes. The breakfast that is provided is amazing, and you most likely won't be hungry until well after lunch time. Kevin and Dan were very friendly, easy to talk too, and knowledgeable of the area. Danielle, August 2017 We had our vow renewal here and it was everything we hoped it would be and more. The house and garden were perfect to host a small ceremony. We woke up the next day to an
awesome breakfast with our wedding party. We've stayed here before the ceremony and it's the experience was just wonderful. Thank you Dan! Daniel P., Madison, MS, A Trip Advisor Review, August 2017 The Garden Song is amazing! Everything was better than we expected. Breakfast was delicious. Meeting Dan was such a privilege. He is a wonderful host and we hope to visit again soon. Teri, August 2017 Singing the praises of GardenSong What a beautiful, quiet, enjoyable place. The room was incredible, the bed so comfortable, and the gardens so peaceful. Kevin ministered to body (amazing breakfast!) and soul (caring heart and encouraging words.) Was so sorry to miss Dan. Everything was five-star good! Can't wait to return. J.A., August 2017 B&B owner and staff are off the chart with hospitality. This is an outstanding B&B and has it all. The location is Great, The services was exceptional. The bed was beyond comfortable. Breakfast was better than you can imagine. Lovely Home and beautiful grounds. They make you feel right at home. Could not have been more impressed. A Barnes, Jackson, MS, A Trip Advisor Review, August 2017 This host goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. We stayed in the downstairs room. The bed was comfortable, everything was exceptionally clean and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay again and recommend it. Carrie, August 2017 Garden Song is a lovely home and the hospitality extended by Dan and Kevin was wonderful. It was a stay I will long remember. I didn't want to leave; but hope to return. Julie, August 2017 Our stay at Dans will long become one of the most memorable and beautiful experiences of our trip. True Southern hospitality. Amazing historical house, the food and of course the music truly a masterpiece. Joanne, August 2017 Beautiful place, like you stepped back in time..but with modern amenities. Loved waking up to the sound of the piano, getting in a little history tour, and ending my stay with a delicious breakfast and lovely company. Diana, August 2017 Dan's mansion is the place to be if you're looking for a luxurious break of your average daily life. It has everything we could wish for. The house is magnificently renovated and decorated, makes you feel like your living in a decoration-magazine. Every single table, tile and wallpaper has a story to tell. The rooms are large and clean, with beautiful beds and views on the streets. The veranda is perfect for enjoying a drink and just laid back for a while. The garden is
authentic, with a very friendly gardener. The breakfast is the best we've had in USA, thanks to kevin, which is an inspirational figure! Last but certainly not least we have enormously enjoyed the host Dan, who has lots of interesting stories to tell about the history of the house and of America in general. He plays the piano, makes great recommendations and can answer all your questions. I would recommend it to everyone, it is so much more than just an amazing place to stay, it really makes you feel at home:) It's worth (much more than) every penny. Thank you for having us! Irene, August 2017 Great stay - the pictures don't do it justice. Stay here - you won't be disappointed. Enjoy the record player and great record collection in the sumptuous room and huge bathroom. Julie & Ben, July 2017 Wow, what a blessing! Best sleep and breakfast I have ever had. I will be coming back to live if they will adopt me! Friends forever! Christy, July 2017 I have found my second home! My friend and I spent the evening in the Vivaldi suite and we absolutely loved it! Absolutely the most darling little room and sooooo cozy. Our host, Dan Gibson, was an absolute doll and did his utmost to make us feel at home. We enjoyed a DELICIOUS breakfast and visit from the fabulous Chef Kevin. His food is made with love and it is PERFECT comfort food. We cannot wait to visit again. We feel like we have found friends and family at Gardensong. Patience C., Hattiesburg, MS, A Trip Advisor Review, July 2017 Wauw... Everything was perfect and wonderful. Dan was a wonderful host and Kevin made the best breakfast. Natasja, July 2017 Garden Song is very well situated, just a few walkable blocks into town and very quiet and relaxing if a rocking chair calls your name. The breakfast was a full one and well presented as well as delicious. Dan and Kevin, his right hand, could not have been more helpful or friendly. The garden is lovely and a wonderful retreat to read or just sit for a while. Lynn, July 2017 Southern Hospitality. My husband and I spent two nights at the Gardening B&B in Natchez, and what a treat it was! The antebellum home is so quaint, perfectly decorated and very inviting! Our suite was on the first floor (there are three floors) and quite spacious. The bedroom has a canopy bed, a delft tile fireplace, built-in bookcases and a writing desk. The gigantic bathroom has a shower, a separate w/c with a sink, and a large counter in the main bathroom with a sink and large mirror. Breakfast is included in the stay, and chef Kevin prepares delicious breakfasts! Each room has a menu from which to select a breakfast from five options and two breakfast times - 7:30 or 8:30. Since I'm not a big breakfast eater, I ordered the gouda grits and sweet potato muffin. The grits are creamy and perfectly seasoned, and the
muffin quite tasty. My husband ordered the traditional breakfast consisting of two eggs, bacon, sausage, grits and sweet potato muffin. He ate every morsel on his plate and was fortified for most of the day. Breakfast beverages include juices and help yourself coffee in the back parlor. The house is clean, inviting and in a perfect location - near the river and main Natchez attractions. The owner, Dan, is very friendly and accommodating as well as quite an accomplished pianist. Cangibson, Cantonment, FL, A Trip Advisor Review, July 2017 We loved staying at this BNB! The history of the house was very rich. It felt cozy! Dan and Kevin just felt like family. The breakfast Kevin made was out of this world! The room delightful! I cannot say enough about the hospitality given! And Dan is an amazing piano player! Filled my soul with joy! Thank you for these great memories you have given us! Love love this place! Will be back for sure! Angela, July 2017 Beautiful home, private, great location, delicious food!! Kathy, July 2017 The place was beautiful and clean... breakfast was excellent! Thank you so much! David, July 2017 This beautiful Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of Natchez and is centrally located to everything! Super friendly and easy to communicate with. Breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed a great conversation with the Chef. I'd stay here again! Scott, July 2017 Step Back in Time. Garden Song was a very special experience. Kevin, the general manager and chef, and owner Dan could not have been friendlier -- and the breakfast was WONDERFUL. We were made to feel like family; Natchez itself is extremely friendly and open, in addition to being a large part of Southern, pre Civil War history. A fun, informative, thoroughly recommended experience. Thaliabaker, New Orleans, LA, A Trip Advisor Review, July 2017 Great Place.Wonderful old home in the heart of Natchez. You can walk around the whole downtown area from there and it's pretty cool. Our host was outstanding and the breakfast was incredible. If you are going to be in Natchez you need to stay here. Dennis H, Little Rock, AR, A Trip Advisor Review, July 2017 Garden Song is a lovely, special experience. Natchez itself is a step back in time and Garden Song facilitates a weekend of gracious hospitality seldom experienced in the hustle and bustle of the 21st Century. The breakfast is amazing, the friendliness of everyone is unmatched -- altogether a memorable moment! Thomasine, July 2017
Wonderful!! Great house, great location, great history. Chef Kevin made the best shrimp and grits ever. Dan was extremely hospitable and gave a wonderful history lesson and tour of his incredible house. Highly recommended!! Beth M, A Trip Advisor Review, July 2017 A beautiful, historic home in a lovely town. Our bed was comfy and our breakfast...delicious! Otis, June 2017 GardenSong was absolutely lovely! The home and amenities were exactly as described. Dan was the perfect host and we so enjoyed talking with him. Breakfast, provided by Kevin, was divine. I highly recommend GardenSong for a quick weekend getaway to Natchez! Meghann, June 2017 Warm southern charm in spades, Dan and Kevin were great hosts. Breakfast best we have had on air BnB, hope to return for longer one day!! Justin, June 2017 Treated like family! Where to start? From the helpful and friendly phone conversations for reservations to the heart felt goodbyes with Dan and Kevin when we left, our experience with Gardensong was truly wonderful. I and all of our party felt like family. We stayed 3 nights over the Memorial day weekend and our party had all three of the rooms booked which meant we had Gardensong to ourselves or so we thought. Our stay turned into a family get-together with our new family of Dan the owner and Kevin the chef. The breakfast prepared by Kevin was a great start to each day. We enjoyed the sun room with complimentary sodas and wine during the early evening. And throughout the day when our party wasn't seeing the sites of Natchez, Dan played tunes on the piano by request and impromptu. We all shared stories of our families and Dan shared the history of the home and of Natchez itself. Our last night at Gardensong we had a special evening meal prepared by Kevin to celebrate wedding anniversaries and milestone birthdays in our group - what a memorable time. Kevin led us in grace prior to our meal and Dan played the piano with tunes fit for the occasion. The meal was delicious and the memories will last forever. When we departed later Monday morning, we left as family and promised to return. Thank you again Dan and Kevin for such a special weekend. Jim G., Fairview, A Trip Advisor Review, June 2017 I don't think it was an accident that we came upon this lovely B&B! It was meant to be! We found Dan, a wonderfully talented and kind host, beautiful rooms and memorable gardens. We were treated to a detailed account of the history of the home and its gardens. Breakfast was prepared and served by Kevin, who is not just the cook. He is, I'm sure, an integral part of the success of this outstanding B & B. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say - don't miss it! Loretta G, Lake Charles, LA, A Trip Advisor Review, June 2017 We liked it so much we stayed a second night! We felt at home from the minute we stepped inside. The house is so charming and laid out in such a welcoming way. We really enjoyed the complementary drinks and wine on the veranda in the evening. The breakfast served by Pastor
Kevin was amazing and he gave us some great tips for things to do and visit in the area. We definitely recommend this place! Ines-pot, Bilbao, Spain, A Trip Advisor Review, June 2017 Southern Hospitality at its best! I just can't say enough about this gorgeous home and the sweet staff. Dan greeted us as we were pulling up to the curb. He absolutely made us feel at home. The Cole Porter suite was just perfect for our family with it's extra sleeping area. Dan was so sweet to our daughter and played piano for us. Where else can you go & be serenaded in the evening?? Breakfast was just awesome & Chef Kevin is a wonderful person as well. Dolldockrisneal, A Trip Advisor Review, June, 2017 Anniversaries and birthday celebrations. Spent the most amazing weekend in Natchez, the best part being GardenSong. Dan, Kevin and staff could not have been more gracious. Beautiful grounds/ home. Dan is the most amazing pianist. Played for us during our entire visit. Welcomed requests and could play anything. He is quite the historian as well and gave us so much information on Natchez and his home. The most gracious host. Kevin is not only an amazing man but also the most incredible Chef. Food was 5-star quality. We will be back and have already recommended GardenSong to others. Migchicks, Allen, TX, A Trip Advisor Review, May 2017 We will definitely be back to this lovely town & this beautiful bed & breakfast. May, 2017 Dan's house is lovely. While we were there, he even played the piano and sang for us as well as being very helpful with recommendations around Natchez. Jen, May 2017 Great visit to Natchez. The epitome of Southern hospitality. Great host/owner Dan Gibson provided a spectacular anniversary weekend for us (40 yrs) and our close friends (45 yrs.) He is a wealth of historical knowledge, a wildly talented pianist, and a world-class host. Kevin Deason prepared amazing breakfasts, and a phenomenal last-evening dinner that was a highlight, and Cookie and Robert were fantastic as well, describing the history of both the home and gardens. Can't say enough good things about GardenSpring - add it to your bucket list! Dad2sizmicks, Allen, TX, A Trip Advisor Review, May 2017 We only stayed 1 night at Dan's mansion and only wished to have stayed longer. From the moment we checked in, we could feel the history of the house. Dan made us feel welcome and shared with us the history of the old days of Natchez and the house. Such an elegant and loving man. Being a frequent traveler, I don t remember staying in such an historical and confortable and peaceful environment. A special thank you also to chef Kevin for an amazing breakfast, great gospel service recommendation and kindness. Thank you, wish I can come back some day. Lise and David, May 2017
Southern Charm...Not To Be Missed! The previous reviews are amazing & did not disappoint! Dan Gibson is the most amazing Southern gentleman host and the best historian of his home & Natchez! We learned so much about this first settlement on the Mississippi River in the early 1700's! We happened to be there during the Festival of Music (month of May), Dan suggested we attend "From Mississippi to Motown" and found it "top notch". We shall return! Occasional Saturday night dinner is offered, so ask if you are interested. Kevin presented a marvelous selection of hot breakfast entrees to choose from in the morning! From the coffee & tea selections to the restful night & piano concerts during the day by our host, our stay was superb...we shall return! Gb7ihla, Gulf Breeze, FL, A Trip Advisor Review, May, 2017 The highlight of our trip. Our stay at Garden Song is one of our favourite memories from our entire trip across the south. Dan couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome, and we thoroughly enjoyed his fabulous piano playing (look out for his version of Louis Armstrong's 'Miss New Orleans'), and his tales of historic Natchez. Kevin's cooking is as delightful as his company, with his menu tailored to the carnivores and veggies among us. The house and the rooms are beautiful and we couldn't recommend GardenSong more highly. Mark D., London, UK, A Trip Advisor Review, May 2017 A Hidden Gem!!! A hidden gem in Natchez!!! Located within walking distance to town, the Garden Song does not disappoint! It boasts all of the southern charm you seek when visiting Natchez without feeling like your lost in a giant house. Dan Gibson is a brilliant host! He is a born entertainer, be it with his natural hospitality or by sharing his gift of playing the piano. One could close their eyes and feel like you've stepped back into the 1800's! The home itself is charming! I just love all his attention to detail! I left not as a guest but with a new friend. Kelgeorgie, Monticello, MS, A Trip Advisor Review, May 2017 Excellent B&B!! My Husband and I, have stayed here about 3 times already, the rooms are great and the breakfast is wonderful!! We love everything about this place, the location is great for walking around, to see the other homes. The hospitality is top notch!! A must see and stay!! The Smiths, Collinsville, MS, A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 GardenSong B&B in Natchez MS exceeds expectations. At Garden Song B&B we experienced such warm hospitality with gracious southern charm from Dan. The location is great being easy walking distance through the historic part of town to the commercial core where historic sites and good restaurants can be found. This historic home's bedrooms and sitting rooms were very comfortable and the garden charming. The true highlights were the fantastic breakfasts created by chef Kevin and his insightful conversation. We ended our bike ride down the Natchez Trace Parkway on a high note when we stayed at Garden Song B&B. Wisener_lee, Eden Mills, Canada, A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 It feels like home at Garden Song B&B. We went to Natchez to visit the beautiful old homes during the Spring Pilgrimage. We were celebrating our 35th Anniversary. Staying at Garden
Song B&B, which was in the middle of all of the homes we were planning to visit, felt like we were part of Natchez history. We feel like we have made new friends, with Dan and Kevin. It was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Garden Song B&B. Gloria, Sandy Springs, GA, A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 Beautiful, Cozy, Historic, Welcoming. This B&B couples beautiful and welcoming with historic and comfortable. With gourmet breakfast (Thank you Chef Kevin), serenades by owner/host Dan, and pleasant company, this was just what we needed for a perfect weekend away. Natchez is beautiful throughout, but make sure to pick this as your home away from home. Relax in the gardens with serene fountains and gorgeous blooms, and sip on complimentary wine. My mom and I had the best time, thanks Garden Song! Serena, Maryville, MO, A Trip Advisor Review, April, 2017 Wonderful Visit at GardenSong B&B. The GardenSong B&B was a real treat for us. It had been recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. Not only was the house very pretty and tastefully decorated, but the garden was also beautiful. The owner, Dan, was very attentive and accommodating and the chef/manager, Kevin, was a wonderful chef. The included breakfast offered 4 choices, and the shrimp and Gouda grits was a hit! I would definitely go back to GardenSong and I have already recommended it to friends. Lynn, Pine Mountain, GA, A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 Excellent B&B. We went here for our anniversary and had the best time. The owner Dan is so friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the home and Natchez. The breakfast we had was delicious. We had a group of ladies staying at the same time as us and i think we all enjoyed it so much. The home is beautiful and well preserved. You can come in and make yourself at home. There is so much to do whether it be tour Natchez, relax or walk the grounds you will enjoy yourself. This is a great place to just unwind and relax. Vickie R., A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 My wife and I traveled to Natchez for the Spring Pilgrimage this April We were looking forward to several days of tours of the antebellum era homes and history. We looked at several BnB options in the area. We enjoy small formal gardens and the charm of the GardenSong home photos and its gardens appealed to us. Through Airbnb we booked the small suite upstairs. That began a complete new level of enjoyment and rich experiences for our trip. First, we received an almost immediate welcome from the home s owner and host, Dan Gibson. We also had a phone call with Dan that was like talking to a good friend, not just courteous but genuinely warm and gracious. Next, once we arrived, the home and gardens were even more charming and enjoyable than we expected. The moment we walked in the door, the home itself was welcoming and relaxing. The front room included a baby grand piano that Dan played and sang for the guests several times during our stay (no hotel or simple room rental comes close to that extra charm). The small suite of rooms we stayed in was very spacious, period furniture and beds very comfortable, and the house areas so enjoyable that we could easily envision this being a retreat for a much longer stay. In addition to the photos on the GardenSong website, there was much more of the manicured gardens and landscaping behind the home. We enjoyed
this added dimension of environment every day. We know from experience that it s easy to book some hotel room for a stay but if you want to add an unexpected level of enjoyment for your Natchez visit, GardenSong will introduce you to 2 of the finest people my wife and I have met. Dan, the owner, was the epitome of genteel graciousness. There were several times he gave us and other guests a historical background of the home, which dates back to It has been featured in a number of national travel magazines and books. He also played the baby grand and sang several times for the guests as we relaxed with evening wine or after breakfast with our morning coffee. Dan also plays and sings during weekend evening dinner at one of the major antebellum townhomes/restaurants in the area, Monmouth. Kevin Deason, the chef at GardenSong, prepared 4-star breakfasts each morning that would easily have been a part of any fine dining establishment s menu. We enjoyed a choice of 4 different breakfast options each morning. Each one was what you would hope for on a special vacation trip. Kevin himself is one of the most positive, personable people we have met. He is completely about your comfort and satisfaction as a guest in the home. I can only rate Dan, Kevin and GardenSong at the highest level in a review. Jim, Atlanta, GA, April 2017 Historic Natchez! The garden song house is simply beautiful and the whole experience is so wonderfully quirky and Dan the host couldn't be more welcoming. I'd highly recommend the Saturday night dinner and piano evening, yummy food and great music played by Dan himself. Pankyvoodoo, Tonbridge, UK, A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 Beautiful space, amazing host, impromptu cabaret! A beyond beautiful old home. But the highlight is Dan and how marvelously accommodating, kind, and generous he was. And best of all, after dinner, Dan played piano hits and show tunes, and he and all the guests sang and drank. What a remarkable experience. My girlfriend and I loved our evening there!! Room Tip: Attic room is remarkable. Big, really cute. Nice views out dormer windows. Sean E., A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 Dan the Piano Man. What a magical stay at GardenSong B&B. Thank you Dan. He is so warm and full of knowledge about GardenSong history. Also Dan is an amazing pianist and vocalist-- what a treat to be serenaded as we got ready for dinner and then when we returned. A young couple staying there arrived after dinner also and they had amazing voices..truly a magical evening. Had to leave very early the next morning so missed Chef Kevin's food, but understand it is delicious. Close to everything you will love Garden Song B&B. Lisa, A Trip Advisor Review, April 2017 Overall a truly memorable stay! March, 2017 An up-to-date, formal, in-town historic house where one is made to feel very much at home. Lovely gardens and a walk around the neighborhood acquaints one quickly with the special place that is Natchez. Kevin, our breakfast chef, who served up a warmth not unlike that of the
southern biscuit he prepared, added a graciousness that will remain with us far beyond our brief stay. Frederick, March, 2017 A 7 Star experience!.the GardenSong is richly deserving of praise on many levels. This is truly a home and guests are invited to share in making it their home. The home has been lovingly restored and brings back memories of a calmer, quieter time when life was just a bit slower. Its location in central Natchez could not be more convenient. Sit on the front porch and before long someone will pass and stop to welcome you to Natchez and have a chat. Lounge in the rear courtyard among the wisteria while you enjoy a lovely glass of wine or your morning coffee. Walk through the beautiful gardens and restore your inner peace. Meet proprietor Dan, a warm southern gentleman, who may delight you with an impromptu piano recital and will treat you as the best of friends. Sleep in a comfortable bed outfitted with fine linens and come down in the morning to the enticing smells of Chef Kevin's amazing breakfast that is alone worth a trip to Natchez. Every thing about the GardenSong is gentille, welcoming and more than you could ask for. You will not be disappointed. Nana, Washington, DC, A Trip Advisor Review, March 2017 Staying at Dan's Bed and Breakfast was a delight! Natchez is a quaint historic town which we hadn't been to before and thoroughly enjoyed. The highlight was sitting on the porch with the perfect early evening night with the perfect weather, while Dan played and sang songs on the piano. One of those perfect moments. Kevin's breakfasts are divine. We loved walking all over and this place is a very nice location. Be sure to drive through both cemeteries. I highly recommend staying here because it is a wonderful old home and even more so because the warmth of the owner and chef make you want to return. Jocelyn, March 2017 A wonderful place to experience Natchez. This lovely bed-and-breakfast is elegant, yet feels comfortable and intimate. The owner, Dan, and chef/manager Kevin are friendly and solicitous. Breakfasts were amazing. The location is great - we walked everywhere. We look forward to staying there again. Susan, A Trip Advisor Review, March 2017 Charming. Was not quite sure when I arrived if this place was going to suit our needs. I quickly realized that it was a perfect place to stay while doing a road trip through the south with my grown son. The room was on the third floor giving us enough space and privacy for both. Charming older home with quirky frog wall paper in the bathroom. Clean and comfortable beds. The best part was our breakfast unbelievable cooked by Kevin who made the stay that much more enjoyable with great conversation and a true warmth. We felt like we were old friends. Thank you Kevin keep in touch. Jronis, Hollywood, FL, A Trip Advisor Review, March 2017 There was 3 adults and one child in our party. The cole porter suite was perfect for us. We sat in the living room during the evening and had a fire. Kevin the cook for breakfast, was friendly
and helpful and the food was excellent. But most of all this B and B was a great value. Thanks Dan! Nancy, March 2017 Our experience was second to none! The house was beautiful, lots of history and charm, it was definitely an honor to stay at the house. House was clean and comfortable and what a fantastic addition to the house - the amazing piano player, Dan! Nicole, March 2017 True Southern Hospitality. When you arrive to Natchez it is already a great experience. This is a unique City with a tremendous history which the locals have made sure to preserve and cherish so that all of us can also get to know it. When you are arrive to "Gardensong" you feel as if you were transported back in time but you also have all the great comforts. The real difference is that Dan and Kevin make sure you feel at home (if not better)! Thanks to our friends who live in Gulfport (MS) is how we got to hear about Natchez. They also booked our stay at the Gardensong B&B. The whole trip was magical and rewarding. Dan plays the piano and sings according to what he perceives are your tastes based on your origins, etc. In our case he was right on the dime!! We truly enjoyed his music and dissertations about the very interesting local history. Kevin makes great breakfasts and very discretely engages in conversations which are very rich in history and tradition. We could have spent hours!! We are very pleased to recommend both Natchez and "Gardensong". Together they will transport you back in time to this incredible part of the great Country that is the United States of America. Thank you can a Kevin. We will see you soon again!! Cargoharry, A Trip Advisor Review, March 2017 More than a B&B. Beautiful historic home in the center of Natchez. Dan is a warm and friendly host. He plays the piano beautifully and delighted my in-laws by having a sing-a-long with them. Kevin made what the eight people in my family deemed "The best breakfast ever!!!" His breakfast shrimp and grits are not to be missed. Dan and Kevin made our little family reunion special. GardenSong was a delightful surprise, well above what we have experienced in B&Bs before. Thank you guys!! Room Tip: The Cole Porter room will sleep four people in 2 separate rooms, the downstairs room has a king bed... Kimberly P, A Trip Advisor Review, March 2017 "GardenSong is great! Dan is a wonderful host, and his B&B has everything you need to have a great weekend in Natchez! You can easily park your car when you arrive and get most places in town by foot. The accommodations are top-notch, and the breakfast is delicious! I highly encourage anyone to stay here!" James, February 2017 Garden Song B&B: a hidden treasure in Natchez, MS. A hidden treasure lies in store for visitors to Garden Song B&B in Natchez. This historic old home, built in 1836 and restored to its current marvelous condition, is as charming as they come. The Nat King Cole Suite is large bordering on huge, with bathroom facilities worthy of the most expensive hotels. A roomy
shower, separate toilet/sink room with heated toilet seat and bidet and ample storage for everything you might bring with you make this an object of envy which you would likely wish you could transport to your own home. Amenities are provided in the form of beer or wine in the garden room (at no extra charge) and a sumptuous breakfast provided by Chef Kevin, who was also our pleasant host. The bed in our room was one of the most comfortable in which we have slept anywhere. And the hidden treasure? It may be beneath the trap door in the Nat King Cole room, although we did not explore beneath. Who knows what discovery awaits an adventurous guest? Julius T, Baton Rouge, LA, A Trip Advisor Review, February 2017 Wonderful, comfortable stay. Highly recommended! Kristen, February 2017 Garden Song is a delightful place to stay! We slept in the Nat King Cole suite. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, 2 areas with sinks and closet space. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed, TV and bookcases filled with reading material. This suite adjoins the back enclosed sun porch. The front parlor made me feel like I was at home with comfy over-sized seating, lots of windows with some looking into the garden and a grand piano which during our stay, Dan, the owner serenaded us with his playing. Kevin prepared the most delicious breakfasts and for myself, who is gluten sensitive, went to great steps to insure I had a tasty meal that was also gluten free. My husband ate the shrimp and grits both mornings! I was treated to a tomato, spinach and cheese omelet. Yum! The location of the home is perfect for walking through the beautiful downtown neighborhoods and just a few blocks from shopping and dining. We can't wait to go back with friends and family! Alisa, February 2017 "A beautiful home! Quaint B&B with spectacular rooms and well cared-for grounds. Breakfast was delicious and Chef Kevin was very friendly and accommodating. Complimentary beer and wine. Dan was very gracious and even played the piano for us. Definitely check this one out!" Mark, February 2017 "Garden Song is a delightful place to stay! 16 Perfect Birthday Weekend. My husband and I went to Natchez to celebrate his birthday and stayed at GardenSong. Everything about this B&B is perfect! The house is centrally located to downtown, the grounds are beautiful, the bathroom was well stocked with toiletry items, and Dan is a perfect host. He is also an amazing pianist/singer, which adds to the beauty of GardenSong. Also, DO NOT MISS Chef Kevin's breakfast!! Trust me - it's delicious!! Jenromich, Jackson, MS, A Trip Advisor Review, January, 2017 "We enjoyed our stay very much! The weather really tricked us, who'd have known Natchez would have snow and ice!!! The town was pretty much closed down, But Dan made us feel right at home! He had a fire going in the fireplace, and offered us wine. We braved the cold and walked a few blocks to get supper, but none of the restaurants were open! We debated staying an extra night because the roads were still bad, and Dan was quick to accommodate us!!!! We went ahead and left, made it home safe it just took extremely long. Chef Kevin was also great and the breakfast food was fantastic! Thanks for everything!" Noelle, January 2017 Romantic Weekend Getaway. Gracious host. Fabulous breakfast chef. Stunning gardens. Impromptu live music (from the aforementioned gracious host). Comfortable bed. A cool room and a warm fire. Welcoming atmosphere on a gorgeous street. A bit of Natchez history, and all at a great price: who could ask for anything more? Marianne G., A Trip Advisor Review, January 2017 "Without doubt the best place we stayed in during our road trip down south. The house and the room are beautiful and Dan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He even serenaded us on his grand piano while we ate breakfast. The food btw was excellent - and too much for me to finish. This probably sounds like one of those fake reviews you get but honestly, it was a lovely stay." Sam, January 2017 "This was a fabulous find. Great location, centrally located in Natchez and walkable to everything. The house itself is beautiful and so well appointed. Clean and exactly as described. Dan was so easy to communicate with and Kevin made a delicious breakfast. Cannot recommend this place enough!" Jill, January 2017 "To say this place is great would be an understatement! We stayed here on our first visit to Natchez and Dan and Kevin made us feel at home! The Master Suite was beautiful, cozy, and comfortable. We are already planning our next trip back to Natchez and will, without a doubt, stay at Garden Song." Shelbie, January 2017 "Garden Song is a truly beautiful home to stay in. Dan is an amazing host and very attentive. And the food!!! Oh my goodness! Kevin's got the moves in the kitchen! We will most definitely stay again. Highly, highly recommended."
Russell, January 2017 "We can't wait to return to GardenSong! The house and gardens are beautiful and located within walking distance to downtown and the river. Dan was a wonderful host and went beyond what I would expect from a bed and breakfast. Everything from the sunroom stocked with soft drinks and wine to the incredible breakfast Kevin prepared were amazing. You must try the homemade sweet potato biscuits!!!" Jennifer, Brandon, MS, January 2017 "Fabulous, this is the place against which all others should be compared. Dan went out of his way to accommodate a last minute schedule change on my part, everything went off without a hitch. Quiet area, beautiful home, easy walking distance to downtown. Rather than repeat the things I see in the earlier reviews, I'll just say my next trip to Natchez will include a stay at GardenSong!" Oscar, January 2017 "Gardensong is awesome! We stayed in the 3rd floor suite which was cozy and even had a record player and some records... the breakfast was out of this world - that's the main reason I chose this place over the others (I had seen a picture of the menu online) and it was a great decision! I had the Shrimp & Grits and my boyfriend had the omelet. Delicious. Kevin, the chef, was very amiable and accommodating. He mentioned as long as he has the ingredients, he'll make the guests anything they want for breakfast. The property was cozy and interesting, we even read some scary stories out of the Haunted Natchez book in the living room. Beautiful garden. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc. Very nice! Unfortunately the owner/host Dan was out of town, so we didn't get to meet him, but he was very communicative. Highly recommend!" Rebekah, Baton Rouge, LA, January 2017 Wonderful. What a great place. Our host, Dan made us feel very welcome. And goodness, Chef Kevin is a real hospitality professional. Kevin makes a beautiful and tasty breakfast. The first night we had the run of the house, which Dan has only owned about six months, but the operation was so smooth that seemed he had been in the hospitality business forever. Dan's cute girlfriend Sheila stopped by and the two of them gave us a beautiful mini concert. Talented!! Kevin was very helpful in helping us know what to do in Natchez. Both Kevin and Dan are very active in the community making it a better place. We stayed in the Nat King Cole suite and loved it. Very comfortable. Easy walking distance to downtown and the river. You will make a good choice to stay at GardenSong. Room Tip: Not a bad room in the house. Tom W., A Trip Advisor Review, January 2017 Great place to stay! This was a fabulous place to stay in Natchez. The Cole Porter suite was perfect for our family of four and our kids loved their own little annex. The house is clean, extremely well kept and charming. Perfect location within Natchez. Oh and delicious breakfast! Dan the owner is so easy to work/communicate with and Kevin made a fantastic breakfast. Can't wait to return!
JDFitz, Louisiana, A Trip Advisor Review, January 2017 "Girls Weekend Getaway. Let me start by saying us girls went to the Gardensong Bed & Breakfast for the weekend to celebrate Cindy's birthday. We had a great time. The place was clean, beds comfortable and hospitality was over the top. Kevin, the Chef has coffee early in the morning and wine in the evenings along with a warm fire and the best breakfast ever! He has a menu of breakfast choices but both days we chose the shrimp and grits because they were delicious along with with sweet potato biscuits with jam. He is such a friendly chef and we enjoyed visiting with him. Then there is Dan, the owner who plays the piano and sings beautifully. He entertained us with his talents and hospitality. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. If you are looking for a great place...stay at the Gardensong, you will love it." DKH, Rayville, LA, January 2017 "Beautiful. Wonderful place to stay! The location was perfect. Dan is an amazing person and a wonderful host. GardenSong was home away from home. Very cozy and the outside grounds were amazing. My daughters absolutely loved the home and Roscoe:) Kevin makes a fantastic breakfast! We can't wait to go back. Highly recommend staying here." Christa, Lake Charles, LA, January 2017 "Great B&B - Amazing Beds! Spent a night here and it was great! The master bed in the Cole Porter suite was SO comfortable, felt like sleeping on clouds. We didn't meet Dan but Kevin was very friendly and cooked us an amazing breakfast. The house is pretty and is located on a beautiful street, not a long walk to town. Would highly recommend!" SoccerDude, January 2017 "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Natchez and Gardensong. The house is in a great location and is full of character. Dan was a gracious host and Kevin's breakfast was delicious. We will definitely go back. Vicki, Monticello, MS, December 2016 Comfortable and friendly place in downtown Natchez. This place was absolutely lovely, very comfortable and spacious rooms with everything necessary provided by the host. Both Dan and Kevin the cook were also extremely kind and helpful and made us truly feel welcome. The house and garden are absolutely gorgeous. We'd definitely stay there again on future visits! Laura, A Trip Advisor Review, December 2016 "One of the best B&B my wife and I have stayed at. Our host Dan was very hospitable and made sure all our needs were well taken care of. The southern breakfast freshly prepared each morning by Chef Kevin was the highlight of our stay. Will definitely stay here again whenever we visit Natchez." Sam, London, UK, December 2016
