6 Trip Information 24-Hour Urgent Response Hotline: , dial 9 Hotel Information Radisson Resort Orlando 2900 Parkway Blvd. Kissimmee, FL Money for Meals Students will need money for: Lunch/Dinner on bus ride (or pack) Snacks in the park separate from meals Luggage 1 medium size bag (consider packing with your roommates!) 1 carry-on backpack/bag for bus right (include change of clothes for Sunday morning) Instrument/mallets Instruments on the plane Flutes/clarinets/oboes should be carried on bus with students in their luggage. All other instruments will travel under bus, so be sure to have hard cases/latches secure. Items to remember Instrument/all accessories/music (reeds, mouthpiece, mallets, valve oil) Driver s License/student ID Extra spending for snacks, souvenirs Snacks for the bus Refillable water bottle Phone charger Light snacks for bus ride Comfortable shoes for walking Jacket and warm clothes for bus Rain jacket in case Appropriate toiletries Sunscreen Hat/Sunglasses Earbuds/DVDS Pillow/blanket/sleeping mask for bus For the duration of the trip
7 Students must check in IN PERSON for every check-in. Students must travel in no less than groups of 4 at all times. Rules and Regulations 1. All School Policies apply. School policy and State law prohibits students from using alcohol or drugs. In the event that a student is found to be using, or in possession of contraband, parents will be notified, and the student will be sent home at his or her family s expense. All prescription drugs must be accurately labeled and recorded on medical release forms. 2. All students must have a medical release from on file with the directors. Please make sure you have the exact times on file for when medication (and dosage) is to be taken. 3. Students must be in the room assigned to them at room check and must remain there. 4. Students will be held responsible for any damaged property and must refrain from taking souvenirs from the hotel. 5. Be punctual. To be early is to be on time to be on time is to be late to be late is to be very sorry! 6. Chaperones are acting on behalf of the director and should be respected and obeyed at all times. No exceptions to this rule will be tolerated. 7. No visitors will be allowed without the director s permission prior to departure from Denton. Students will not be permitted to leave the group at any time, even to visit relatives. 8. The noise level in the rooms must be kept low as a courtesy to other guests staying in the hotel. 9. No boys in girls rooms. No girls in boys rooms. This is a zero tolerance policy. Parents will be notified immediately, and students in violation will be with a chaperone flown home at personal expense. 10. Proper attire is expected at all times in accordance with the school dress code. Refer to the Guyer Standards for Student Conduct. Directors and chaperones may ask a student to change at any time if attire is deemed inappropriate. 11. The director reserves the right to inspect the students room and luggage without warning if deemed necessary, and may charge a chaperone to assist. If an incident occurs that the directors determine warrants sending a student home, the student s parents will be responsible for all expenses incurred for both student and an accompanying chaperone.
8 Respect is gained through respecting others. Procedures and Flow Each room will be assigned a chaperone. You will need to check in with your chaperone any time we meet as group. If you have any questions or problems, go to your assigned chaperone. At no point is it acceptable to be in a group of fewer than 4 people, even when moving through the hotel. If not with your assigned chaperone, you must communicate which chaperone you are with (and only with permission of assigned chaperone) There will be designated check-in points/times each day at the parks. ALL STUDENTS must check in with chaperone in person at these checkin times, or risk losing time in the parks. Your safety and security is the priority! While at the hotel: You chaperone will distribute the room keys and do room checks at assigned times. Do no block traffic paths and doorways Speak in normal volume, and do not yell when indoors Us the stairwells as much as possible to avoid frequent trips to the elevators Students must NOT wear pajamas to any meals or other activities Students must wear appropriate footwear at all times Students are not to order pizza or other food to be delivered to their rooms No hotel meeting rooms are to be used without permission of directors No room or bus switches are permitted Lock, bolt and safety chain rooms every night After curfew, students are not to open the door for anyone other than a chaperone or director Students are not to make any local or long-distance phone calls on hotel phones Do not take towels or any other items from the rooms. Students are responsible for any extra charges to the room Students are not to play their instruments in their hotel rooms Your chaperone will do a room check of your room prior to leaving the hotel. Anything found damaged or vandalized will be reported, and your room will be asked to pay the fee. You will turn in your room keys to your chaperone at check out.
