2 FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE April 1 st, 2016 Meet Joy! She lives in Riley s head along with Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. When Riley moves to San Francisco, her life turns inside out. Accidentally Joy and Sadness get sucked out of Headquarters. They will have to go through Riley s mind to get back, but the hardest obstacle maybe be each other. While back in Headquarters Anger, Disgust, and Fear are left in charge to make decisions. Come travel with us into Riley s mind and find out how Sadness and Joy become best friends and that the most important things you never really loose. Meet us under the Big Tent at 7:30pm. Make sure to bring chairs, blankets, and anything else you might need to be comfortable. We will be serving pizza and drinks before the movie and popcorn will be served during the movie. BOCA HELPING HANDS It is estimated that 50,000 families in Palm Beach County go hungry every day. The Town of Lake Clarke Shores is once again joining forces with Boca Helping Hands to bring food to local families in need. We are asking for residents to donate non-perishable food items while attending the festivities over the BBQ weekend (Family Movie Night on Friday, To-Go Order Pick-up on Saturday and/or the actual BBQ on Sunday). You can place your donations in the large wooden crate that will be in front of the Police Department Friday April 1 st through Sunday, April 3 rd. The Town appreciates the generosity of its residents. Remember- your donations will help to end hunger in Palm Beach County. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED The BBQ is the biggest event in Town. We need volunteers to help on FRIDAY, SATURDAY, and SUNDAY. Supporting and giving back to your community by volunteering strengthens your self-esteem, your spirit, and your community. When adults set good examples for giving back, we bond with our children as well as the community. Don t stop with just the BBQ, see inside for all the ways you can volunteer in the next few months, independently and as a family. TENNIS COURTS & BASKETBALL COURTS WILL BE CLOSED Friday, April 1 st at 4pm & Re-open Monday, April 4 th.

6 SHARING THE ROADS As all of our residents know, Lake Clarke Shores is an active residential community. Sergeant Howell, from LCSPD, would like to remind you of some great ways to stay safe and some legal reminders for activities during dawn, dusk, and evenings: Wear bright colors so that it is easier for drivers to see you while walking/running/biking/etc. Wear a flasher or light to draw attention if you are walking or running and especially if you are pushing a stroller. Bicyclist MUST have 2 reflectors on their bikes -1 for the front and 1 for the back of the bike. IT S THE LAW. If you re a runner or walker, REMEMBER to GO AGAINST TRAFFIC so that you can see what s coming towards you. If you re a bicyclist, you are a vehicle by LAW. REMEMBER to GO WITH TRAFFIC. DRIVERS: The speed limit in town is 25 mph. This is enforced for the safety of the public. Citations will be issued. REMEMBER to SHARE THE ROAD for EVERYONE S SAFETY! TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT INITIATIVES Palm Beach County APRIL 1 ST, 2015 MAY 12 TH, 2016 JUNE 6 TH, 2016 JUNE 24 TH, 2016 AUGUST 5 TH, 2016 SEPTEMBER 19 TH, 2016 OCTOBER 28 TH, 2016 DECEMBER 9 TH, 2016 SATURDAY 31 ST, 2016 The goal of the Enhanced Traffic Enforcement Initiative is to keep our roads safe by educating drivers on what could happen while driving distracted, impaired, and/or aggressively. Citations will be issued. Use Waste Management Dumpsters Only Waste Management Inc. is the exclusive solid waste removal provider. If you have a project that requires a dumpster you must contact Waste Management at Final inspections are required for all Building permits. The work performed must be completed and pass a final inspection. If a final inspection is not completed within a reasonable amount of time, the property owner may be issued a Notice to Appear before the Code Enforcement Board. Inspections must be called in Monday - Friday between 7:00am - 3:30pm. Inspections will take place the following business day. Permit and plans must be posted on the job site or the inspection will fail. A $75.00 re-inspection fee for failed inspections may be imposed. Please call Joan Perron at (561) ext. 14 to schedule inspections.
7 RAILROAD CROSSING SAFETY Trains and cars don't mix. Never race a train to the crossing even if you tie, you lose. The train you see is closer and faster-moving than you think. Be aware that trains cannot stop quickly it can take a mile or more to stop once the emergency brakes are applied. Never drive around lowered gates it's illegal and deadly. Do not get trapped on the tracks; when you need to cross train tracks, go to a designated crossing, look both ways, and cross the tracks quickly, without stopping on them. If your vehicle ever stalls on a track with a train coming, get out immediately and move quickly away from the tracks in the direction from which the train is coming. At a multiple track crossing waiting for a train to pass, watch out for a second train on the other tracks approaching from either direction. We are updating our waterway signage. We request your patience and ask that you please remain attentive to NO WAKE ZONES & ALWAYS have PROPER SAFETY EQUIPMENT on your vessel!!! ALWAYS EXPECT A TRAIN! The purpose of Code Enforcement is to improve the safety, health, and welfare of all citizens living within the Town. Effective code enforcement also ensures a positive effect on property values. Adherence to codes is the responsibility of every Town citizen and property owner. The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for making sure that the residents, property owners, and businesses comply with Town codes. Residents can report possible violations by completing an online violation concern form or calling Code Enforcement: (561) ext. 23 Go to the Town website at: for additional information on Town Codes CODE ENFORCEMENT Common Code Violations Maintaining your property below minimum standards such as having a dirty roof and/or driveway or fence in disrepair. Landscaping problems such as allowing grass, hedges and/or weeds to grow too high or bare areas in your lawn and/or having dead grass. Having debris in your yard including trash, building materials, litter, etc. Failing to obtain garage sale and/or capital outdoor sale permits or building permits for construction / renovation / repairs. Setting out garbage, vegetation, and trash too early or on the wrong day. Having a motor home, boat, trailer, or other recreational vehicle parked in the front yard or on the side yard in front of the building line.
