In attendance were Pat and Don Nokes, John and Sandra Buckley, Bill and Brenda Gorman, John and Jo McCarthy, Greg and Diane Nelson, Bill and Marilyn Barquist, Harold Werley and John Hemingway. A meeting was held at the Pizza Ranch in Clarion, Iowa. Bill Gorman thanked John Hemingway, Gene Upstill, Bill Barquist, and Harold Werley for their input into this year s schedule of events. Harold Werley was congratulated on his award from The Professional Car Society and his great article published in the last Dynaflash. February 2015 we lost long time member Elliott Wilson. Elliott s family was gracious enough to donate Elliott s collection of Buick Bugles and Hawkeye newsletters to the club. Elliott s collection is almost complete from I have these in my possession, I would like have suggestions as to what should be done with them. John Hemingway suggested asking a library if they would be interested. Seven letters have been set, resulting in Kendall Reed, from West Des Moines joining the Hawkeye. Mr. Reed owns five Rivieras in his collection, we hope to meet him soon. Events: the next scheduled event, May 30 th, is joining the Fireball and Gopher Buick clubs at Lake Mills, Iowa. Their schedule is included in this issue. I will finish our plans soon and will have Ellen send them out to the membership. This event sounds like a lot of fun, join us if you can. BCA National s June deadline to register is May 25 th. I was also asked to mention that Jack Welch is looking for people to volunteer to work at this year s national. Jack can be reached at cartoys@comcast.net please consider volunteering. 2 Page 2 Director s message continued Heartland Regional is July in Green Bay, WI. I will not be able to attend this event, I m asking if a Hawkeye member is planning to go and if they would represent the club at the Regional Meeting. Please contact me if interested BCA Board of Directors ballot was included in the April Bugle. Your ballot is due June 1 st, please vote. The club is looking for members to help organize and plan the 2017 Heartland Regional scheduled for Iowa. We have had members Harold Werley and John and Jo McCarthy volunteer, please help plan a great event. Bylaws: It has come to my attention that the club has never had published bylaws. Gary Gleason and Harold Werley helped create a set of bylaws. We are submitting a set of bylaws for your review. I ask that all members read them and vote yes or no via or in person at the November meeting. Financial Report submitted by Harold Werley on page 3. The Heartland Museum in Clarion, Iowa is home to all kinds of restored tractors, big and small. One of the main attractions is the BIG BUD tractor producing over 1000 horsepower from a V16 diesel engine, the other attraction is the hat collection of Iowa s hat lady Alvina Tesdahl Sellers. Alvina collected over 500 hats of all types. There is a teddy bear collection and several recreated stores in the streetscape area. The people involved with this museum have put in a lot of work with great results. Bill Gorman, Director Hawkeye Chapter I recently received notice of the passing of Elliot Wilson, a member of the National BCA and of our local Hawkeye Chapter. The obituary can found at A sympathy card and memorial was sent to the family. Our new member Dr. Kendal Reed from Des Moines is the owner of five Rivieras including a 1964, 1965 GS, 1972 and 1973GS. We look forward to meeting him and seeing his collection.

ITINERARY & DIRECTIONS MAY 30, 2015 SPRING TOUR CADILLAC LASALLE CLUB, FIREBALL, GOPHER STATE, HAWKEYE and RIVIERA CLUBS BCA ITINERARY & DIRECTIONS USED IF YOU START IN MINNESOTA, ADDITIONAL HAWKEYE INFORMATION WILL BE SENT LATER IN MAY DEPART: 9:00 a.m. sharp from Starks Bar & Grill, 3125 Dodd Rd, Eagan, MN (Hwy 55 & Dodd Rd). Arrive early if You like and have breakfast at Starks before we leave. TRAVEL: Via caravan south on Hwy #3 to the Faribault Woolen Mills (41 miles), nd Ave, NW, Faribault, MN. It is right on Hwy #3. See Map Quest attached for specific directions. ARRIVE: 10:00 a.m. and tour the facility, including the Company Store where you can browse and many items are available for purchase. DEPART: 11:30 a.m. for lunch at The Wedgewood Cove Golf Club, 2200 W 9ih St, Albert Lea. Travel will be via Hwy #60 west out of Faribault toward Waterville, turning south on Hwy #13 toward Albert Lea. Distance is about 62 miles. When you cross County Rd #46 (at stoplight, just west of Albert Lea) continue straight ahead on Hwy #69 about one mile to W 9 th street. Turn right and go a couple blocks west to Wedgewood Cove. (Wedge Cove is not yet on Map Quest). Bathroom stop in Waseca if needed. CONTINUED NEXT PAGE.

8 Page 8 ITINERARY & DIRECTIONS MAY 30, 2015 SPRING TOUR continued ARRIVE: 1:00 p.m. for lunch at Wedgewood Cove. Order from menu. DEPART: 2:15 for Larson collection at 204 N. 2 nd Ave West, Lake Mills, IA. When leaving Wedgewood Cove, turn right on Hwy #69 (south). Distance is about 18 miles to Lake Mills. ARRIVE: 2:45 at Larson Collection, 294 N 2 nd Ave West (Toy Shed), see map attached. DEPART: Larson Collection at your leisure this is the last scheduled event on the tour. Return home by Freeway or two-lane highway. I-35 can be accessed from Lake Mills by taking Hwy #105 east 11 miles. Returning North out of Lake Mills on Hwy #69 and continuing North on Hwy #13 will take you back to the Twin Cities on two lane roads, ending up in Savage. OTHER OPTIONS: If you are interested in having dinner after leaving the Larson Collection, either individually or with others, three choices are suggested: Branding Iron, Thompson, IA. This is a small town restaurant well known for great food. Thompson is about 15 miles from Lake Mills. Take Hwy #69 north out of Lake Mills about 8 miles and then Hwy #9 west about seven miles. Return to Lake Mills and take Hwy #105 east to I-35. Trumbles Restaurant, Albert Lea, MN. This is a very good and popular family restaurant, located at 1811 E Main Street ( ). This location can be on your way home if you are taking I-35. Take Hwy #69 north out of Lake Mills to County Rd #46 in Albert Lea (1 st stop light). Turn right (east). County Rd #46 becomes Main Street follow it through Albert Lea to Trumbles on the east side of town. When leaving Trumbles, continue east on Main Street, which connects with I-35. Starfire Grill, nd St SW, Waseca, MN: If you are returning to the Twin Cities via Hwy #13, this may be a good choice. It has a four star rating. Open Sat. 4:00 10:00 p.m. Appears to be just a block off Hwy #13. Price range $11 - $30. NOTE: It will be helpful if you could let me know in advance if you will be joining the tour so we can give the Wedgewood Cove information on how many to expect for lunch. Also, if you are planning to eat at the Branding Iron or Trumbles, I would appreciate knowing in advance to be sure they can accommodate us. 11 Page 11 A little information I pick up from the Central Indiana Chapter newsletter. I called the C of C in Springfield and asked for anything that would help first-timers to the city, and shortly received a fine booklet with all the answers. Also, I asked my contact for personal recommendations for good, or unique places to see and for reasonably priced restaurants. Of course reasonable to me my be equivalent to a fast food joint to you, but I'm not about to drop $100 on a dinner. Her suggestions follow. The Bass Pro Shops and the National Sporting Arms Museum, both collocated at the same address, 1935 S. Campbell Ave. Admission is free. Also in the same building is Hemingway's Cafe which is open for B,L, and D. prices range from $ to $$. (Never could find just what $ was.) It is open M-Sat from 7AM 'til 10 PM, and from 9AM to 7PM on Sunday. The Air & Military Museum (A=$5) at 2305 E. Kearney St. contains restored vintage military equipment and some modern items. The Railroad Historical Museum at 1300 N. Grant St.. (Free) is only open on Saturday from 2-4PM which means you'll have to go after judging. Near the hotel is a Culvers at 2520 N. Gladstone. Quick & easy for lunch. Farmers Gastropub at 2620 S. Gladstone is supposed to be good. L & D $- $$ Gilardi's Restaurante at 820 E. Walnut is Italian of course. D only. $$- $$$. Whole Hog Cafe 224 Sunshine St. is tops for barbeque. L & D. $-$$ Flame Steakhouse & Wine Bar 314 W. Walnut, D only. $$$ And...if you need some sweets, Elle's Patisserie at 1454 E. Cherry St. for coffee and dessert ONLY. It seems to me that Campbell Ave. is the main north-south street, and Walnut is the main eastwest street through the downtown area. John Steed scoped out the hotel on his return from Chicasha last month and said that one should take the No.80 exit from 1-44 and head south for a short distance on Glenstone. He also said that the hotel does not front on Glenstone, but is accessed by a driveway. But there is a sign. Hollywood Stars and their Buicks
