Calling all cabin holders!! (by Rod) We have allowed cabin holders to have a picnic table at their site. During the Convention and holidays if we are needing more tables for campers, RV sites or the park we will be retrieving tables. Once the event is over we can return them to your site. The Naturist Amateur Radio Club, NU5DE, will be participating with other Ham Radio clubs throughout North America for an Emergency Preparedness event on June 23rd & 24th. The event will take place at Site G-1, just east of the office. The station will be operating using batteries & solar power. We welcome guest operators. You can find more information at or go to and click on Places to go Special People by Ken W I was once told that everyone here believes that they are Special. At the time, I didn t believe that it was necessarily meant in a positive way, and I did not inquire as to true intent of his statement. But now that I have been the GM over the last few months I think I totally understand what this meant. There are some positives to the statement in that; I believe all members here at Star Ranch are special. Without the help, in whatever capacity, each individual can contribute to our community, this place would fall down and become a pile of dust. I am always overwhelmed by the responses to the requests I make of several different individuals. Whether it s a major labor, specialty skills needed for particular projects, request for volunteers to prep/serve and clean up for meals, or just someone out picking up trash, watering plants or picking weeds without even being asked, each and every one of our members are special! We must be doing something right to make everyone feel special. Now for what I see as a negative to this statement of everyone being special; Rules: Sometimes there are some who feel this rule or that rule is not meant for them. It was intended to be followed by everyone except them. Whether it s driving too fast, recor drunk on our roads, smoking in or within 5ft. of the pool, bringing glass containers into the pool area, or just watching others committing infractions to the rules without mentioning the infraction to the guilty party, it is all wrong and each member should take responsibility to help remind or inform those who re guilty of breaking rules. Too often I hear of complaints of this person or that person breaking a rule or a complaint of someone who is trying to enforce the rule. It is each member s job to help enforce the rules by both following the rules and informing those who break them, that they are doing so. It is not just BOD members responsibility or my responsibility, It is the responsibility of each and every member of our club. If an offender does not stop after being asked politely to do so by a member, you can aways come to me to resolve the problem. But each of you should make a polite attempt to educate the offenders first. While each member is Special they are all equally special in my eyes, and nobody is exempt from following the rules set forth by the BOD. If you don t agree with a particular rule, come to a BOD meeting and bring it up for discussion, don t just feel you are a special case and don t need to follow the rule. Pre-AANR Convention Workday June 9 th Now calling for all available members to come to the aid of our community by doing what you can to help us get ready for the ANNR convention. I have several projects in progress right now as well as several others that need to be done to help beautify our grounds and facilities. If you can use a paint brush, drill a hole, make a sandwich, deliver drinks, pick up trash or anything else, I have a job for you!!! I will have a list of tasks completed at weeks end. But I promise, If you can do anything at all, I can use you. Prior to work day I would like to arrange some of you to plan and prep lunches for work day. All other tasks will be assigned or open for volunteers the morning of June 9th, after a quick, free, taco breakfast. I know that we will get another great response from all of you. That s why I believe you are all truly special!

An amazingly large group kicked things off Friday evening with a lot of wine bottles lining the back tables at the Nekkid Parrot OH what a night. By 11 AM Monday you could fire a gun from the front porch of the clubhouse and not hit anything except the dumpsters at the end of RV row. Quite an RV caravan pulled out in just over an hour.
