Bobbi Neal said they were being circulated as bookmarks in the book and on the website and will be coming soon. Bobbi Neal informed the committee that there was an opportunity to attend a Tourism Trade Show, cost for participation is $ which is in the budget, it will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2013 at the Victoria Conference Centre. Bobbi circulated a draft for the proposed vertical banners, these will be rotated around communities to promote the guide and a vehicle decal is planned for the future. After group discussion it was recommended that the following changes be made to the banners. - Website and quick response (QR) code be added - First quote remain as is - Second quote to stop at the word neighbours - Third quote to be second half of second quote they contribute to the overall quality of life and the well-being of all residents of the region Page 4 of 9

Councillor Day asked if members would be interested in having a group of musicians attend to provide entertainment. The offer was accepted with enthusiasm and the Chair said it would add great value to the event. Marnie wished to express appreciation to Colwood Public Works department who supply the wood for the IACDI Picnic campfire and to Metchosin Fire Department who allow the campfire at the IACDI Picnic every year. This is a huge part of the picnic. 3.7 Witty s Lagoon Interpretive Day Marnie announced that the accessible trail at Witty s Lagoon from West Mont School to the teaching shelter is complete. Bobbi Neal noted that the next part of this initiative was signage, Councillor Day suggested the IACDI logo could be placed on a Telus Pole in the car park. 3.8 IACDI Business Cards Marnie advised that Herma had quoted $88 plus tax for both sets of cards which was reasonable and supported local business. There was further discussion regarding the thickness of the blue border around the card and it was decided to go with the narrower blue edging. 3.9 IACDI Rack Cards Marnie advised that she did not have a chance to update the Rack Cards. The following suggestions were made of what to include in the Rack Cards: - Basic Information, who we are, when we meet - Website, , & twitter accounts - Committee s Mandate, who can join - Disability for a Day - Measuring up Grant - User Friendly Trail Guide - Top 5 things we have done Marnie said she would work on it. Councillor Day noted that shorter is better; it can be fine-tuned later on. A time, date, and place to meet would have to be arranged and anyone interested is welcome to come along. There is no guarantee that the trails are completely wheelchair friendly. The group is interested in mapping out the trails. Cynthia advised that there is a new app. available that will map a trail while you are walking it. The app. is called Map My Walk. Marcie asked if Royal Roads was aware that Roger and IACDI were doing a trail evaluation. Marnie advised it was not intended to be a trail evaluation, but to a) identify 2.1. Page 7 of 9

8 Intermunicipal Advisory Committee on Disability Issues Minutes April 18, 2013 Page # 6 how many trails were on Royal Roads Property, b) how many are accessible c) if there is a trail at Royal Roads that we could feature and d) if so, how we can share this information. This will give a two hour opportunity to promote the Guide and it is always good fun with lots of freebies and giveaways. Those who wish to volunteer are asked to let Cynthia know. Cynthia Day suggested that the committee might like to invite the Scooter Community to come out and support the station. IACDI thought this would be a good idea. 5.3 Grant in Aid-Marcie asked about an application IACDI had made to Metchosin for a grant recently for the IACDI Picnic. Marnie said yes this had been submitted and if we receive these funds, they would support the IACDI picnic as it is held at the Metchosin Community House. Marcie noted that all grant applications should first go through the committee. It was agreed that IACDI Grant in Aid Applications would be put on the agenda every January. 7.
