The Pulaski District schedule for 2016 is as follows: 12 March-Spring Meeting at Lynnville UMC at Lynnville, TN north of Pulaski 9 April Inter-generational Meeting Lebanon 1st PULASKI DISTRICT WORK DAY AT CAMP CEDAR CREST Mark your calendars now! Our Pulaski District UMW Work Day at Camp Cedar Crest will be on Saturday, April 16 th. Bus will leave Lawrenceburg 1 st at 7:15. We will begin registration around 8:30AM and begin work at 9AM. We will break for lunch about 12 noon and call it a day around 4PM or earlier if you need. Lunch will be provided by the Camp. All equipment and supplies will also be provided. Spring cleaning of the camp buildings in preparation for the summer camping season, cleaning up brush and tree debris, and some painting will be our jobs for the day. UMW members are encouraged to attend, but please include men and youth of your church. Lots of volunteers make for a shorter day of work. Thank you all for your concern for our Conference campsite. Below is information furnished by a member of the committee Pat Sailor Della, Billy Beal asked me to give you an update on our District Hunger Program. To date in 2015 the Pulaski District Hunger Fund has disbursed $4,000 for various causes as requested by pastors serving one of our churches and to be used for a ministry which helps the folks in their area. The funds have all been donated by churches and groups, such as the District United Methodist Women, within the district. The maximum allowance given to any request is $500, and each request has been given that amount this year. To date $1500 was given to Backpack Programs in 2 counties, $1500 given to food banks in 3 different counties and $1,000 given to the East End After School Program in 2 different requests one recently to provide Thanksgiving baskets for the families of children served by the program as overseen by Nelta McAdams. Each request for funds must be approved by Rev. Billy Beal, District Hunger Chair, and the D.S. Rev. Ken Murray. No donated monies is given outside the district. If a church or an organization wants to give to a particular cause on the state or national level, this is done outside the parameters of the District Hunger Fund. A BIG thank you to the UMW for their generous check that was received today. I can assure you it will go to help hungry persons. Individually as a person or a church we may not be able to do much, but together we are helping hundreds every year. You can be proud of your church and the UMW for their help, and proud to be a Pulaski District United Methodist. If you have any questions about this fund, please let me know. 3 Vice-President Joy Shackelford Contact Information 1184 E. Jefferson Street, Pulaski, TN Greetings Everyone, It seems that winter is almost gone. So spring is just around the corner. Our Spring District Meeting will be March 12, 2016, hosted by the Lynnville UMW. This is their first time to be the hostesses so let s all mark our calendars and attend. Since the price of our lunch has been the same for several years, the Executive Board has voted to increase the price to $7.00. Registration will be from 9:00 to 9:30. I visited Peggy Ward, their president, to see if they needed any help. I know that we are going to have a wonderful time there. It is a beautiful drive. DIRECTIONS: When you get to the first red light in Pulaski, continue straight ahead (which is College Street) until you reach the intersection of US Highway 31 (the Post Office will be on your right). Turn left and follow US31 until you get to Old Lynnville (about 16 miles). Turn right onto Hwy 129. (If you miss the turn and get to the Dollar General Store, you have gone too far.) Go about a mile and the church is on the left. There is parking on the side of the church and in a parking lot behind the church. They are expecting a good crowd. Let s not disappoint them. By March 5th, please send names of deceased sisters and their UMW unit name to address beverlyduke@charter.net Ph. # postal address Beverly Duke 240 Raven Bluff Road Lawrenceburg, TN Tennessee Conference United Methodist Women Mission Coordinator for Education and Interpretation 2015 was a great year for Education and Interpretation of the Tennessee Conference United Methodist Women. Our Conference Mission Work Day at the UMCOR Disaster Depot in Decatur, Alabama, was very successful. We had two awesome days of service and fellowship. Many local units and districts of the Tennessee Conference have made commitments and followed through on those commitments to support the Depot both by volunteering and by financial help.

5 This year s Conference Mission Work Day is scheduled for May 14 th at Bethlehem Center of Nashville located at 1417 Charlotte Avenue. This facility is much closer than Decatur, Alabama, and we expect and will need a large number of volunteers. Potential tasks for us are *Organize Grades K-4 Supply Room *Organize Grades 5-8 Office/Supply Room *Help with Gardening Project (De-weeding, Mulching, Planting) *Paint 3 rd Floor Hallway and Office Doors (15 doors) *Landscaping from of Bethlehem Center Campus on Charlotte Avenue (Plant flower, etc.) *Paint Outside Railings *Donate items from Wish List (Attached below): Optional Steve Fleming, Director of BCN, assured me that there is much work to be done, and he is right. We will begin on May 14 th at 8:30AM or as soon as you can get there. Please bring gardening tools, paint supplies, etc.and please bring items on the included Wish List of BCN if you can. I hope that it can be relayed to each unit that each unit, whatever the size, can be successful in attaining some of the goals of Living the Vision. Each unit should report its successes to their District E and I Coordinator. This is how we are able to learn about and be involved in serving God s world. The Local Unit Report Form is included in this edition. Save it and use it as a guide and inspiration of ways that you can be in mission. Be on the lookout, Tennessee Conference.
