1 NOVEMBER Volume 26 Issue 11 BEEN THERE, DONE THAT Normally, I would agree, but the circumstances leading up to the Tombstone run change all that! The rides really are about the riders not the destination. Doc and I were well aware of the importance of who we ride with and what they mean to us and to accept that it is fleeting! Easy Friday was the plan as the 500 mile day on Thursday left us a little bushed. Not!!! By the way, Fort Hauchuca is not requiring special authorized passes to get in. Still, dig the ride up to the back entrance, rough but good rough. On to lunch in Tombstone, cool done that, moved on to Mount Lemon by way of Sky Island scenic route. Traffic, yes, have to have traffic to appreciate No traffic. A Ying & Yang kind of thing. We logged 300 miles, not sure how but the odometer does not lie Saturday was to be another easy day, Docs Daughter Angel set up a surprise meeting at the Healing Heroes Rally. The granddaughter and grandson were totally blown away with the sighting of grandpa, sweet moments did follow. The day spent with Doc s family was healing. It was another long day with more miles of bombing around the Mexican border. With speed limits of 75, if that is the limit that you can get away with! Good fun. At any time our situations can go from grieving to blissful and there may be some solace in the fact that we all have Been There, Done That. VETERANS DAY AT KNOTTS Knott s Berry Farm pays tribute to active and retired U.S. Military with free theme park admission for personnel and one guest.

Up to six additional tickets may be purchased for $35.00 each.

Once we turned onto Angeles Forest Highway (which is NOT a forest but a desert road) my GPS had a slight glitch telling me to turn off the road and into the desert.

Free admission is valid from November 1-November 15, and November 27 December 15. Personnel must present a valid U.S. Military or veteran ID at the Knott s Berry ticket booth. LITTLE ROCK (not Arkansas) SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 Took off on time with the weather so so, and up the road a few miles the weather became wonderful and stayed that way the entire ride. A number of riders had never been on Upper Big Tujunga road which is always a nice ride, and especially when the weather is perfect. With the rest of the group I would have gone ahead and dirt biked it, but I knew Jim M. would have never talked to be again so I did not. The Littlerock Cafe like Upper Big Tujunga, was new to most of the riders. If you have ever been to the Café; you know it is nothing special, it iis very much the normal desert area locals place. Friendly people, fairly good food and total lack of ambiance. On the ride home we took Big Pines Hwy, which I had never been on, but which I would recommend to anyone. It takes you from the desert up to Hwy. 2 near Wrightwood. From there the ride was mostly 15 freeway with riders breaking off on the 210, 60 and 91 for home.
