2 Excelsior Gold Limited (ASX: EXG) ( the Company or Excelsior ) is pleased to present its Quarterly Activities Report for the period ending 31 March The Company s focus during the quarter was on progressing the fully-funded 33,000m drilling program at the 100%-owned Kalgoorlie North Gold Project ( KNGP ), located 30 to 55km north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The primary objectives of the drilling program are to: Confirm the confidence levels and where possible, grow the current 954,000-ounce gold resource base aimed at rebuilding the KNGP s reserves; and Explore the highly prospective Project area for potential game-changer discoveries through innovative interpretation of the various geological and geophysical datasets. Financial During the March 2018 quarter, funds received from gold sales totalled $283,000, which forms part of the final gold in circuit calculations. Expenditure for the quarter was $1.5 million, of which $1.0 million was for exploration, resulting in a cash balance of $5.7M at quarter end ($6.9M as at 31 December 2017). Drilling Drilling during the quarter concentrated on infill of the Zoroastrian resource model with a total of 1,825m of RC percussion and 1,500m of diamond drilling completed. The infill program returned further strong results at Blueys, Blueys South and Pearl lodes in accordance with interpreted lode positions and continues to support the potential for both a future open pit and underground development. The drill core has also highlighted well-defined hanging wall contacts of the lodes and more discrete high-grade zones than previously indicated by the RC drilling, which would make extraction by underground mining methods relatively straightforward. 5 Resource Modelling Geological modelling incorporating all new drill results in advance of the updated Mineral Resource estimates for Zoroastrian and Excelsior is progressing well and remains on schedule for July 2018 (refer to ASX release Drilling Update and Timing for Resources/Reserves 7 March 2018). Exploration Following the March 2018 Quarter activities, which were focussed on resource infill and conversion, June 2018 Quarter field activities will shift back to drill testing for new discoveries. The WA State Government EIS co-funded exploration drilling program over the Longsleever area (refer ASX release 18 December 2017) commenced in March to test the parallel dolerite unit to the west of the Zoroastrian dolerite. Based on the geological findings from the previous deep diamond hole at Thompsons prospect (KND170002), Excelsior designed a 5-hole drilling program (750m of RC and 1,600m of diamond) at Longsleever, of which the State Government through the EIS program will fund 50% of the direct drilling costs. Subsequent to the quarter end, the first 3 holes were completed (refer to ASX announcement KNGP Progress Update 17 April 2018), with core logging and assaying, where appropriate underway). In addition, drill testing of a number of already identified, high priority exploration prospects requiring follow up is planned during the June 2018 Quarter.
