14 UPDATE Beachline West Expressway Widening ( ) November 2017 Project Highlights Construction Update 6 Beachline West Toll Plaza Add 2 express lanes in each direction Add 1 express lane in each direction Eastbound and westbound Beachline Expressway widening and new ramp construction continues After widening and new ramps are complete, traffic will shift onto newly constructed roadway so median reconstruction can begin Bridge construction complete at Orangewood/Universal Boulevard The final phase of Shingle Creek bridge reconstruction began in October 2017 New LED roadway lighting and sign installation continues Anticipated project completion is late 2018 Landscape project to follow in 2020 How Will Turnpike Express Lanes Work? Widen roadway from 4 to 8 lanes by adding 2 express lanes in each direction Add noise walls along residential communities Widen six bridges Reconstruct and raise bridges over Shingle Creek Minor interchange improvements Physically separate commuter traffic from local / airport traffic During congested hours, pricing will vary to manage congestion Not available to commercial trucks Local commuter and school buses allowed Must have transponder SunPass or other interoperable device Properly mounted in vehicle What Will Turnpike Express Lanes Do? By providing users a choice to bypass congestion they will: Increase mobility Minimize travel delays Improve travel time reliability Maximize construction dollars
