2 INTRODUCTION The Centre for Consumer Studies, Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi is organizing the 19 th Training of Trainers Programme for the Faculty Members of Training Institutions on Consumer Protection and Consumer Welfare from May 16-20, The programme has been sponsored by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. IIPA extends a warm welcome to all the participants and feels that each participant would be benefited from the discussions and deliberations during the programme. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES At the end of the Training Programme the participants will be able to: enhance their knowledge and skill in the area of Consumer Protection and Consumer Welfare; understand the need and importance of Consumer Protection and Welfare; acquaint with the national and international dimensions of Consumer Protection and the role of various stakeholders; explain the various provisions of the Consumer Protection Act and other legislations having a bearing on Consumer Protection; discuss the legal dimensions of Consumer Protection in different service sectors such as, medical, banking, housing, telecom etc. and develop training skills. DATES AND VENUE The programme will commence on Monday, May 16, 2016 and will conclude on Friday, May 20, The programme will be conducted in APPPA Hall of the Institute. REGISTRATION The participants in the programme will assemble in APPPA Hall of the Institute and will register themselves on Monday, May 16, 2016 at A.M. PROGRAMME DETAILS The Work-Schedule, List of Participants, Faculty involved and the Programme Staff assisting this programme are indicated in detail in the following pages. EVALUATION OF THE PROGRAMME The final session will be devoted to evaluation and valediction. The participants will be supplied with an evaluation proforma on the last day of the programme which may be completed and handed over to the Programme Coordinators. CERTIFICATE A Certificate will be awarded to each participant on completion of the programme. 1
