Friday night s game at the Whitsunday Sportspark against Bowen will be a fantastic opportunity to see how the boys are travelling with fitness and team work. We would very much like you to come down and support the Raiders from 7pm and show the club your support. (please note the game may be played on top oval Afl oval due to wet weather and rugby field being closed.) Coming Events PRE SEASON GAME Whitsunday Raiders versus Bowen 7pm Whitsunday Sportspark (top oval) THIS FRIDAY NIGHT 30th MARCH 2012 Bowen Mudcrabs will put the MAGEE CUP TROPHY on the line for this match and travel down to Airlie to play us. According to Bowen sources of the 21 times the trophy has been played for the Mudcrabs had won 13 and the Raiders 18. However in the last 2 years the Mudcrabs have won 5-0 in 2010 and 26-7 in It s time the tide turned..

The weekend of Saturday 28th April is a bye for all club teams as the Mackay Rep teams and some of our Raiders teams.play in the Crossley Cup. This is followed by another HOME GAME FRIDAY 04TH MAY 2012, 6.30pm, at the Whitsunday Sportspark, Airlie Beach versus BOWEN. The first away game is in Mackay versus Brothers on Saturday 12th May 3.30pm at Quarry Hill Rugby Grounds. With only just over a month away from the first competition games training should be building up and players need to be making an effort to attend training and work on their own personal fitness and strength need to get through Easter too... We will be also sending Whitsunday U13 team to the Country Muster in Tieri on the 6 th and 7 th July to compete against all the other regions. All sides will start training in April. Rookies 2 Reds Starting Term 2 Proserpine State School will be hosting Rookies2Reds in It will give boys and girls a fun, interactive and healthy introduction to Rugby Union. The Rookies2Reds program consists of five sessions - one each week over five weeks - and is structured around the needs of two distinct age groups: Children aged 5-7 years old Children aged 8-10 years old As a participant of the program you will be taught the basic skills of Rugby as part of an exciting and game-based environment that will ensure you will be emulating the likes of Rookies2Reds Ambassadors James Horwill, Will Genia, Digby Ioane and Saia Faingaa on the playing field in no time! Rugby is an inclusive game, for boys and girls of all shapes and sizes - and it wasn't too long ago that all four Rookies2Reds Ambassadors were learning the same Rugby skills being taught to kids today.. 5 Crossley Cup Charity Day 28th April As most of you may know the Crossley Cup Charity match is in memory of Local man and dedicated rugby supporter and player Andrew Crossley who passed away late 2010 from cancer.
