2 2 About the Report This 4D Focus quarterly report uses global data sourced from FCM corporate bookings made offline, online (via OBT), GDS and non- GDS bookings during July to August 2017 (Q3 2017). The average room rates (ARR) quoted are booked rates (excluding taxes). VariaSons in rates booked are a reflecson of season, supply and demand, corporate buying behaviour, availability and variasons in exchange rates. Unless otherwise stated USD$ is reported. During Q3 disrupbon impacted corporate travellers in Barcelona, caused by terrorist threats and protests. Also, there were major weather disrupbons in Houston- Texas from Hurricane Harvey. During this period the northern hemisphere summer and vacabon period drew to a close. Overall, demand increased with year on year hotel occupancy growth in Europe (+2.2%), APAC (+3.3%), Africa (+4.9%), Central & South America (+2.3%) and North America (+0.5%). The Middle East was the only region where occupancy levels decreased (- 2.8%). The standout city in Q3 was New York with 90.4%. New Zealand remains one of the top performing countries with consistently high occupancy all year, reporbng in Q3 75.9%. The Bureau of stabsbcs data for the year ending Sept- 17 reported a total of 3.7 million inbound visitors, +9% on last year.. ArgenBna saw double- digit demand growth this quarter due to several conferences and sporbng events such as tennis and rugby. Q OCCUPANCY VAR.
