2 INTRODUCTION MASSES GO OUTBACK... ONLY THE ENLIGHTENED FEW GO WAYOUTBACK! HOW WAYOUTBACK AUSTRALIAN SAFARIS CAME TO BE Established in 1999, Wayoutback Desert Safaris quickly forged an enviable reputation for running authentic small group experiences. Incorporating indigenous culture for true adventure travellers, we traversed the remote Red Centre outback in the Northern Territory and won the hearts and praise from those who travelled with us. We specialised in the Red Centre and were regarded as the experts in being the only genuinely authentic small group outback touring company. In 2012, Wayoutback Desert Safaris became Wayoutback Australian Safaris, investing and expanding into the Top End of the Northern Territory. As well as visiting Uluru, the red heart of Australia we used our existing ethos and passion and transferred this to the tropical waterfalls and wetlands of Kakadu, Litch eld and Nitmiluk National Parks. Just as we connect with authentic indigenous partners in the Red Centre we did so in the Top End to ensure we were delivering the best authentic experiences possible, allowing us to take our guests into the culturally signi cant Arnhem Land. Today, Wayoutback Australian Safaris delivers quality experiences throughout our incredible home base of the Northern Territory and our safaris comprise of 3 different styles, catering for travellers of varying ages and budget. After 19 years I m still at the helm as Managing Director and shareholder, my passion for the Northern Territory undiminished. Wayoutback Australian Safaris continues to constantly strive to improve our offerings based on our ethos of a few fundamental characteristics we believe are paramount to getting a really authentic taste of the outback as an adventure traveller. All of this however is irrelevant if we don t offer the most important single ingredient, your tour guide. A great tour guide makes an even greater tour and is something I feel so passionate about I still do tours myself to ensure we are constantly training and offering the best guides in the business. Today, our ethos is guided by the below principles: Keeping away from the crowds as much as possible Encouraging all guests to sleep under the Red Centre stars in swags (Aussie bush bed) Utilising private, permanent campsites situated in remote and unique locations Cooking food over a camp re whenever possible 4 wheel driving on outback bush tracks (4WD safaris only) Providing authentic Aboriginal interaction Employing and training guides that are, or become, the best in the business Happy Travels, Don Wait FIND US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: #WAYOUTBACK facebook.com/ Wayoutback Aus 2

4 WHY GO After 19 years of touring we remain passionate about what we do and know well the areas in which we travel. We support a host of local businesses in the regions we operate including a number with indigenous ownership as well as working with numerous cattle stations on whose land we camp or have access to traverse. We are not however a "cottage industry", we are a professional operation employing 20 full time staff, 50 tour guides as well as many casual staff who keep the wheels turning. We currently operate 50 vehicles ranging from small luxury 4WD's to 27 seat buses, as well as our medium sized 16 & 17 seat 4WDs, right up to our 21 seat 4WDs. Our reputation is second to CULTURAL EXPERIENCES none within the tourism industry winning several Tourism Awards over the years and boasting an overwhelming number of very satis ed customers some of who's supportive comments can be found on Facebook and TripAdvisor. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and on developing innovative products, particularly around indigenous tourism and niche products. You can be sure that when choosing to travel with Wayoutback to Uluru (Ayers Rock) or the Top End, you will experience the passion, knowledge and commitment we feel for the unique areas we choose to live and share, all within our beautiful, rugged and remote Northern Territory. Wayoutback works closely with many of the traditional land owners in the regions in which we operate. While all of our guides are experienced in Aboriginal Culture, history and Dreamtime, we believe that to get a thorough understanding of the Northern Territory, then meeting and interacting with local Aboriginal people is paramount. They have been living in the area for in excess of 20,000 years and have a unique history and relationship with the land. To hear their stories rst-hand will give you an insight you won't forget in a hurry. We are proud to partner with Aboriginal owned and operated companies in the Northern Territory including: MARUKU ARTS Maruku Arts is owned and operated by the Anangu people based at Uluru and provides a once in a lifetime, authentic Indigenous cultural experience. Participate in a walk to the cave near Mutitjulu Waterhole at the base of Uluru. Learn the stories of this unique landscape and be educated on the connection between their art, culture and the land directly from your guide, a traditional Anangu custodian. The Maruku Cultural Experience is included on all Classic 4WD Red Centre Safaris. OAK VALLEY Oak Valley Aboriginal Community south of Alice Springs is an inspirational Aboriginal owned and operated tour business and community which we visit on our 5 day Kangaroo Dreaming Safari. It lies in beautiful desert country boasting its own fossil eld, rock carvings and paintings as well as an olive plantation. Here you can learn directly from local Aboriginal people about their way of life, art and hunting. TOP DIDJ The Top Didj Cultural Experience located near Katherine was founded in April 2009 and since this time has been amazing and educating visitors from around the world about the culture of the local Jawoyn Aboriginal people. Listen to a local artist tell their story and experience traditional activities such as re lighting, spear and boomerang throwing and visit the art gallery which showcases a large portfolio of artists from throughout the region. This once in a lifetime cultural experience is an included activity on our 5 day Jabiru Dreaming and 5 day Arnhem Land Dreaming Safaris departing Darwin from June to October. ARNHEM LAND Arnhem Land is one area in Australia where indigenous culture is still dominant. Our 4 and 5 day Arnhem Land Safaris travel into Arnhem Land where a traditional Aboriginal guide will take you up Injalak Hill and show you excellent and proli c examples of Aboriginal rock art. Visit the award winning Injalak Art and Craft Centre and browse or purchase goods from this non-pro t Aboriginal organisation. FIELD OF LIGHT - ULURU Join a tour to the famous Field of Light on our Red Centre Safaris. Departing under the cover of darkness, as far as the eye can see gentle rhythms of colour light up the desert. The exhibition, aptly named Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku or looking at lots of beautiful lights in local Pitjantjatjara is Bruce Munro's largest work to date. Overwhelming in size, covering more than seven football elds, it invites immersion in its fantasy garden of 50,000 spindles of light, the stems breathing and swaying through a sympathetic desert spectrum of ochre, deep violet, blue and gentle white. We strongly recommend pre-booking your Field of Light tours prior to arrival as spaces are limited and sell out quickly. Cost is $42 per adult and $30 per child payable direct upon booking. ENDLESS STAR DINING Our signature Endless Star Dining Experience is included on all of our Classic 4WD Safaris in the Red Centre. It is the perfect way for you to get to know your fellow passengers while enjoying a typical outback style meal with a touch of elegance and class. Served on the rst night of your Red Centre Safari in our own private campsite located at Yulara, your meal is cooked over the camp re and comes complete with breathtaking candlelight and delicious wine. Take your time enjoying this once in a lifetime experience in the company of your group, while eating under the beautiful stars of the Australian Outback. 4

6 THE RED CENTRE Welcome to Australia's Red Centre, where Alice Springs offers access to the awe-inspiring landscapes of Uluru and Kata Tjuta, the MacDonnell Ranges and Kings Canyon. Soak up Aboriginal culture and rugged natural beauty on classic outback journeys that take in these iconic sites. Here you can connect with the oldest living culture on earth or enjoy the outback culture in a local pub. With Wayoutback you'll have the chance to enjoy sunset over the iconic Uluru, hike through Kata Tjuta, with its many domes, enjoy stunning views over Kings Canyon and learn about Aboriginal culture and 'bush tucker' with the exclusive Maruku Cultural experience. Enjoy a true outback experience during your journey, sleep under the stars in a swag (or in a comfortable tent) and enjoy meals cooked over an open re. Oak Valley Aboriginal Community Physical ratings Our safaris are active adventures that include a fair amount of walking and hiking. In the Red Centre your hikes will range from a relatively easy base walk of Uluru to 'Heart Attack Hill' and the Rim Walk at Kings Canyon. All tours participate in moderate to challenging hikes with less demanding treks/walks available at most locations for those less active. Uluru is a sacred site and Anangu, the indigenous custodians, respectfully ask visitors not to climb it. Wayoutback respects the wishes of the Anangu people and instead explores the base of Uluru and surrounding areas. Guests wishing to climb Uluru must do so on their own and only if weather and time permits. Climate The Red Centre is characterised by semi-arid desert conditions and has the normal four seasons. The climate can be quite varied with hot summers (Dec-Feb), cold winters (Jun-Aug) and even storms at times; it's very important to check the temperatures leading up to your tour and pack accordingly. Regardless of the time of year light and comfortable clothing, a water bottle (1.5litres minimum), wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and torch are essential. For an in-depth insight into Aboriginal life and community we have Aboriginal hosts who can join our safaris. Getting involved in the day-to-day operation of the tour including cooking traditional foods with ancient methods, imparting their knowledge of the bush and sharing cultural stories, this is sure to be a once in a lifetime experience. YOUR GROUP SIZE We cater for groups large and small. We are highly experienced in delivering private touring for couples and families, corporate incentives, school, educational and special interest groups to name a few. Whatever your group requirement may be, Walking Country will have you on the road with an experience designed speci cally for you. 27

For passengers wishing to rent a tent on our Red Centre Safaris there is a $60pp charge and tent must be requested prior to travel. CANCELLATION BY WAYOUTBACK OR WALKING COUNTRY At times WAS/WC may have to cancel a tour or service. In the event we do have to cancel, every effort will be made to offer a suitable alternative. If the alternative is not suitable we will refund your tour price in full. We reserve the right to cancel a tour and arrange an alternative operator (if possible) if group numbers are insuf cient or combine safaris of differing standards in the event that low numbers are endangering a scheduled departure being cancelled. In this instance passengers will always be upgraded to a higher standard product. Passengers travelling on a tour with upgraded passengers will not be entitled to refunds in these instances. WAS reserves the right to have multi-level pricing on products where it is necessary to ensure passengers travel plans are not disrupted. In circumstances where the cancellation is due to external factors beyond our control, any potential refund will be less any unrecoverable cost which we may have incurred. 7. BOOKING AMENDMENTS Due to the complexity, staff time and communication costs of the booking process, the following amendment charges will apply; 15 + days prior to departure - $50 (including GST) plus any difference in price between the original booking and the new date/ tour which is selected. Passengers joining or departing a tour from Ayers Rock Airport (AYQ) will also need to recon rm all ight details at least 48 hours prior to their scheduled departure. It is recommended that when joining a tour in Ayers Rock that you arrive before 2pm and when departing Ayers Rock your ight be scheduled after 12:30pm. WAS/WC will not be held responsible for any delays resulting in a passenger missing tour inclusions or missing a scheduled ight. 9. We may from time to time have to pass your details onto our agents, service providers or other suppliers to enable us to deliver our service. We educate all of our staff about the requirements of the National Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act. 11. HEALTH AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS Due to the vast distances travelled on safari, we may be many hours from medical facilities. It is the responsibility of you and your agent to declare any known medical condition(s) at time of booking. WAS reserves the right to request additional information and/or medical clearance (at your own expense) before con rming your reservation. Upon joining your safari WAS/WC requires you to re-con rm any medical condition(s) to your guide and enough medication should be carried for the duration of your safari (cold storage is available). A certain level of tness is required for all safaris. To ensure that you enjoy your time on tour with us, you should be able to walk at least 6km (3.7 miles), unaided, over rough, uneven ground (often in intense heat) and climb (or descend) steps or steep inclines without hindrance. If you are unable to meet the required level, you must disclose this at time of booking. In the interests of health and safety, WAS/WC reserves the right to refuse travel due to any medical conditions and/or tness level which we deem necessary. WAS/WC will not be liable for any additional expenses or cancellation fees imposed by ourselves or third parties incurred as a result of refusal to travel due to non-disclosure. Travel Insurance is highly recommended. 12. DIETARY REQUIREMENTS AND FOOD ALLERGIES All of our menus are designed to be well balanced and healthy to provide the necessary sustenance for you to enjoy and participate in your tour. If you have any food allergies or speci c dietary needs please contact us to discuss these requirements and we will advise you if they can be catered for. As we operate in remote parts of Australia, certain foods are not always readily available. We may have to supplement our menus as supply dictates therefore we cannot guarantee all ingredients contained in these alternatives. In these instances we will advise you to provide your own supplementary food/ snacks depending on your speci c requirements. 13. CHANGE OF ITINERARY WAS/WC reserves the right to amend tour times, itineraries and fares for its products as circumstances, time of year and operational reasons occur. There will be no refunds in these circumstances nor for delays incurred due to mechanical failure, accident, weather or any other unforeseen circumstances. We cannot guarantee exact pick-up and drop-off times and will accept no responsibility in the event of cancellation fees from other connecting services. Individual Aboriginal location visits cannot be guaranteed for cultural reasons. In the event of a location or host not being available alternative experiences of a similar nature will rst be sought and failing this, refunds will be offered for this component only. No compensation will be considered for any additional driving or time lost due to such changes. 14. ACCEPTANCE OF RISK Australia has many dangerous creatures, extreme weather conditions and often varying terrain. Camping, hiking and passing time outside may increase your personal risk of exposure to these dangers. Safety is our number one priority and all of our guides are highly trained to ensure passenger safety at all times. All passengers participating on our tours do so at their own risk and no responsibility can be accepted by WAS/WC for any loss, injury or accident. Passengers are responsible for any additional costs involved should such instances occur. All passengers will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to departure. If you would like a copy of this in advance, please contact our Sales Centre. The minimum age for children travelling on our safaris is 5 years at the time of travel. All passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or caregiver at all times. While all care is taken, the responsibility of children on tour rests entirely with the parent or caregiver. All passengers, including children, must wear shoes at all times, use sunblock and wear hats. Please note that we accept children of all ages travelling on our group and private charter tours. 15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY We contract with a network of companies and individuals to assist in operating our safaris. WAS/ WC works with the best operators available but takes no responsibility for any act of neglect by any operator whose services are used as part of your tour. Our suppliers make every effort to safeguard clients, and we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or sickness to any customer which is beyond our control. Passengers should note that adventure travel involves a higher than normal risk and a signed release may be required from all participants from a number of our activity providers. 16. AUTHORITY ON TOUR We pride ourselves on the very high standard of our guides. WAS/WC is one of only a few Advanced ECO Accredited tourism operators based in the Northern Territory. All guides have a sound knowledge of the local area focusing on its history, Aboriginal culture, geology and the natural environment. Passengers must abide by the tour guides instructions and directions at all times, in particular with regard to actions and behaviour in National Park areas, Aboriginal communities, areas with elevated hazards or risks and emergency situations. Non-compliance with any directions from the tour guide or other authority may result in the passengers being refused onward travel with no right to refund. All vehicles are tted with a microphone and WAS/WC will ensure to the best of its ability to have them all in good working order. Due to the environment in which we are travelling, heat, humidity and dust often have an adverse effect on electronics within the vehicles and as such their use cannot be guaranteed. In such instances guides will make every effort to ensure commentary of signi cant importance is heard by all but no compensation will be due in the event that it is not. 17. PHOTOS AND MARKETING You consent to us using images of you taken during the trip for advertising and other promotional purposes in any medium as we require. You agree that the use of these images is without recourse to you and without compensation to you. 18.
