3 W WEST Pilot Overview The West End of Adelaide is the key night time entertainment precinct for Adelaide City and, with that, public safety and crime issues are a priority. In order to manage these crime and safety issues, a cooperative approach has been developed between the State Government, Local Government and the West End community. The WEST Pilot is running from Nov 2011 to May 2012.

4 Purposes of the Evaluation The WEST Pilot is being evaluated. 1. for clarification - to develop an understanding of the strategies and how they are supposed to lead to a reduction in crime and an improvement in community safety. 2. for improvement - to assess such issues as: what the pilot strategies are trying to achieve, if delivery is consistent with the plan, and what could be changed to make them more effective.

11 After Midnight Bus Services Michelle Spagnoletti Four Premium City Central After Midnight bus stops in the West End Precinct Upgraded lighting and CCTV in place Access to sign posted public toilets Regular Police presence Prominent, reflective signage and service information has been installed at the four Premium Bus Stops Further initiatives to improve awareness and advertising for service are being developed including posters and slides for display in late night venues Social media information is included on the Adelaide Metro website
