3 MELBOURNE BOAT SHOW PROFILE In 2017, the Melbourne Boat Show will be celebrating its 57th year of operation, making it one of the longstanding boat shows in the whole of Australia. The Melbourne Boat Show is owned and organised by the Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV), which represents an industry worth $4.5 billion to the Victorian economy and provides more than 17,700 FTE jobs. With a core function to support member businesses and promote the growth of recreational boating and the boating lifestyle, the Melbourne Boat Show is a vital component to the BIAV s support of the growth, progress and sustainability of the marine industry and is the largest promotion of recreational boating in Victoria. 97% of 2016 Melbourne Boat Show exhibitors rated the MCEC positively as a place to exhibit marine industry products and services.* Taking place at the state-of-the-art event venue, the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the Melbourne Boat Show sees visitors both locally, nationally and internationally each year. 4 MELBOURNE BOAT SHOW PROFILE Qualified Audience Research from a recent Melbourne Boat Show survey of visitors has shown clearly that visitors who attend the Melbourne Boat Show are QUALIFIED buyers. Their sole reason for visiting the Melbourne Boat Show is to make a purchase. In addition to this, 64% of visitors are boat owners, indicating that the Melbourne Boat Show is a favourable environment for exhibitors to market their products and services, because it is attended by a large percentage of the boating marketing in Victoria. 43% of respondents indicated they attended the show specifically to buy something. This means nearly half of all Melbourne Boat Show visitors are qualified buyers. 14 APPLYING FOR SPACE All Exhibitors must complete online the Application to Exhibit form fully and adhere to the terms and conditions described. This form can be found on the Exhibitor page of the Melbourne Boat Show website at Verbal applications will not be accepted. Space is allocated at the discretion of BIAV and the submission of an application form is not a guarantee of space, successful applications will be advised of their allocated space The Exhibitor s Manual will be available on the Melbourne Boat Show website and outlines details of the show, nominated contractors, move in and move processes and general exhibitor information. Payment Schedule An economical MONTHLY payment schedule is available to allow you to spread your payments over time. Payments can be made by direct deposit. 15 Exhibitor Discount Exhibitors who pay ALL instalments on or before the due dates as listed are eligible for 15% discount off the total cost of their stand. The 15% discount will be deducted on the final instalment (invoice) which must be received by the 15th May NB: Credit Cards can be accepted as payment for exhibitor space (MasterCard and Visa only). A 2% credit surcharge will apply to all payments made by credit card. Due Dates Monthly Plan: Monthly instalments will be due on the 15th of each month leading up to the show, with final payment due on 15th May Instalment Plan: First payment 20% payment due on 15th December 2016 Second payment 40% payment due on 15th March 2017 Third/Final payment 40% payment due on 15th May 2017 If final payment is not received by 15th May 2017 the 15% discount will not apply to either plan. The BIAV reserves the right to reallocate sites that have not been fully paid for by the due payment dates. 13
