3 FROM THE ORGANIZERS For the 8th consecutive year WOP DUBAI was organized under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality. The exhibition took placed on November 13, 14 and 15, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, alongside, the 11th edition of IPM DUBAI International Plants Expo Middle East, the region s leading exhibition for plants and flowers. Both shows were inaugurated by H.E. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director- General of the Dubai Municipality and are organized by planetfair Dubai and Messe Essen GmbH in cooperation with the Dubai Municipality and Dubai Central Fruit and Vegetable Market, the Middle East s biggest market for import and export. Click here for official video The total outcome of the show this year reflected again the huge growth in the trade of perishables in the Middle East and proved the position of WOP DUBAI as the only trade fair for fresh produce in the region as well as strengthen the emirates of Dubai as an important destination and a worldwide trading center for fruits and vegetables. The constant growth of past years continued this year. Overall, 235 participating companies from 30 countries exhibited at WOP DUBAI 2016 and presented a wide range of products and services. The exhibitors came from Australia, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mauritius, Moldova, Morocco, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. 14 official country pavilions were joining the show from Australia, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, India, Italy, Kenya, Morocco, Portugal, Turkey and Spain traders and industry professionals from 78 different countries visited the exhibition with a growth of 20% compared to the year before. The International Plants Expo Middle East - IPM DUBAI 2016 took place parallel to WOP DUBAI visitors attended both shows with the total growth of 18%. WOP DUBAI 2017 will continue its success at the same venue Dubai World Trade Centre - the most prestigious exhibition center in the Middle East - where it is expected to have another substantial increase of space and capacity for the exhibition and to provide exhibitors more services and space options. Based on the feedback we received from visitors, wholesalers, and biggest distributors within the region, WOP DUBAI 2017 profile will be planned to expand and cover all the major categories of the fresh produce industry including Technical Equipment, Safety, Logistics and other related services. WOP DUBAI 2016 was organized under the patronage of Dubai Municipality. Both Dubai Municipality & WOP DUBAI follow the same goal to turn the Emirate into a worldwide trading center for fruits & vegetables. The partnership with the largest center for trade and distribution of fresh produce in the Middle East will ensure that WOP continues to be the most important meeting point of the industry in the Middle East. WOP DUBAI exhibitors will be able to take full advantage of the huge purchasing potential of wholesalers and retailers from the entire Middle East. DUBAI CENTRAL FRUITS & VEGETABLES MARKET TENANTS PARTICIPATION The tremendous participation of the UAE fresh produce leading companies along with tenants in the region s biggest Dubai Central Vegetable & Fruit Market (Aweer) was one of the show s success pillars. Nine UAE local companies and tenants of Aweer Market where participating at WOP DUBAI 2016 and presented their services & products in a special presentation & exceptional oriented stand designs. UAE PARTICIPATION HIGHLIGHT WOP continues remarkable co operation with Dubai Municipality represented by Dubai Central Fruit & Vegetables Market, the region s largest market for fresh produce. Dubai Central Fruit & Vegetables Market developed an outstanding partnership with WOP DUBAI. This partnership with the largest center for trade and distribution of fresh produce in the Middle East ensured that WOP continues to be the most important meeting point of the industry in the Middle East. Being a strategic partner of WOP DUBAI 2016, Dubai Municipality with their tenant s presentation and their participation in all WOP DUBAI 2016 activities has provided a new dimension to the show in its fifth edition which is by far the biggest.

6 EXHIBITOR COMMENTS We are proud to have taken part in WOP DUBAI for the first time in order to present Aircoolbox in a region in which the temperatures may be very high. This may be a problem for perishable goods. This is the right place in order to introduce our products and to highlight to fruit and vegetable producers one possibility for supplies to or via Dubai with which they do not have to think about the goods perishing.
