1 Special Event Traffic and Transport Information New Year s Eve 2016 Date: Saturday 31 December 2016 Location: Sydney CBD, Harbour Foreshores and various Council areas Road closures and Special Event clearways will be in place across Sydney CBD, Harbour Foreshores and various Council Areas from Saturday 31 December 2016 to Sunday 1 January 2017 for New Years Eve celebrations. Roads will begin closing from 5am on Saturday 31 December Roads will be progressively reopened after midnight with some remaining closed until 9am on Sunday 1 January Check road closure details for specific times and conditions. All road closure times are subject to change by NSW Police. Some cycleways and pedestrian walkways will also be closed during the event. Special event clearways will be in place from 4pm Friday 31 December 2016 to 5am Sunday 1 January Motorists are advised to check signs before parking as vehicles parked in special event clearways will be towed and fines apply. Police may restrict vehicle access along closed roads, including residents and businesses. Clearways and road closures affect both directions unless stated otherwise.
