TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games - largest international multi-sporting event Canada has ever hosted More than 10,000 athletes from 41 countries competing in 51 sport disciplines More than 30 competition venues spread across 16 municipalities in Ontario Anticipated 250,000 visitors; 1.4 million tickets Pan Am Games: July 10 26, 2015 Parapan Am Games: August 7 15, 2015

5 Hamilton Soccer Central Games-time, Tim Hortons Field will be known as the CIBC Hamilton Pan Am Soccer Stadium Soccer is one of the most popular sports (we can expect avid displays of national pride) 8 Men s Teams / 8 Women s Teams 16 day schedule: Day 1 is July 11 with 4 games starting at 11:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. July 12 through to July 23 2 games per day (5:30 & 8:30 p.m.) Medal Rounds: July 24 1 game (8:30 p.m. Women s Bronze) July 25 2 games (1:00 pm. Men s Bronze & 6:00 p.m. Women s Gold) July 26 1 game (1:00 pm. Men s Gold)

6 Hamilton Soccer Central cont d Stadium gates open 2 hours before the start of each game All spectators will pass through security Noise disruption during the games themselves will be difficult to predict, but there may be expected noise as crowds depart the Stadium Stadium capacity is 22,500 McMaster University is the Satellite Athletes Village Transition schedule: June 1, TORONTO 2015 takes over the Stadium to prepare for the Games July 5 - July 27, Temporary traffic and parking changes around the Stadium go into effect July 6 10, Teams practice in Stadium July 10, Residential Parking Program goes into effect July 11 July 26, Pan Am Football (Soccer) Event July 27 August 6, decommissioning of Stadium

7 Transportation Planning

8 Transportation Planning The transportation plan is being designed to ensure the convenient and safe movement of athletes, officials, media and spectators with the aim to minimize disruption to local residents and businesses surrounding the area Games Route Network includes roads and highways that link airport, competition and training venues, satellite accommodations and Athlete s Village. Designed to ensure reliable and safe transportation for athletes, officials and media to and from events Spectator Transportation Services Enhancing transit service, accessible options, signs, parking and more. Public transit is included with game-day ticket across the Games footprint by showing a Game day ticket for travel on the day of the event

13 What should I expect? During the Games, temporary traffic & parking changes will be in place throughout the Stadium Precinct Heavier traffic volumes between July 5 26 can be expected throughout the Precinct, particularly on streets within a 1 km radius of the Stadium The busiest periods are expected to be from July Travel within the Precinct will be slower and may require you to re-route or re-time your daily routines

17 Vehicle Access TO2015 & Residents TO2015/City issued vehicle access pass will be necessary On Street parking will not be permitted in Hard Closure Area Access passes issued to homes with driveways only (access passes will be assigned to the number of cars a driveway can accommodate (1 spot/1 pass) and does not include lawn parking) All other vehicles or those with no driveways, will have an alternate parking location (Parkview/King George site) and require a City issued resident parking pass

22 Temporary Traffic & Parking Changes No parking on Main St (north side) from Sherman Ave to Gage Ave No parking King St from Gage Ave to Sherman Ave No parking Gage Ave from Main St to Barton St Lane configuration changes - Gage Ave will have a dedicated left turn lane from Main St to Cannon St Taxi & Coach Bus staging on Gage Ave north of Barton St still to be confirmed

23 Games-time Parking There is limited parking in the area but there will be Park and Ride shuttle services and enhanced GO Transit to/from Toronto before and after every match Spectators will be encouraged to take transit to and from the stadium (it s included with your ticket!) The City team is working with ArcelorMittal for Park and Walk location

24 Resident Services HSR #3 Cannon route will be detoured around the Stadium beginning July 5 Detour Eastbound Cannon St via Wilson St, Sherman Ave, Main St, Gage Ave, Cannon St Detour Westbound Cannon St, Gage Ave, King St, Sherman Ave, Cannon St) Ticket-to-Ride Program: Those with a valid game-day ticket can ride the HSR for FREE on game day Waste Collection Waste collection day for the neighbourhood will remain the same Materials are to be placed curbside for collection by no later than 7:00 a.m. The collection routes may start earlier than usual so as not to impact the Games.

25 Resident Services cont d Daily Litter & Clean Up Staff will be working jointly for garbage and litter clean up during the day-time hours starting after 7:00 a.m. (includes litter crews, sweeper and flusher truck cleaning) Mail & Newspaper Services Will not be impacted Stadium Deliveries All deliveries to the Stadium will occur after 7:00 a.m. There should be no overnight deliveries Resident Deliveries within Hard Closure Area Unfortunately, there can be no deliveries July 5 July 27. Only vehicles with proper accreditation will be able to enter the hard closure area. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead if anticipating deliveries.

26 Resident Services cont d Emergency Services In event of an emergency, the Municipal Emergency Evacuation Plan will be put into effect. Plans have been developed to evacuate the Stadium and the immediate area surrounding the Stadium if required. Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) will continue to provide service within the hard closure area. There will be equipped fire personnel set within the hard closure area on game days in order to provide a quick response if required. Home Services For residents in the hard closure area who receive home support services, we will work with you to continue these supports within your home as required.

Off-The-Field Action Signature Event Sites include: Gage Park (anticipated opening and second weekend) Multicultural music, arts/crafts vendors and foods, concerts, arts and Viva Pan Am Junior Soccer celebration for youth. Including diverse representation of Hamilton s multicultural communities. (It s Your Festival presents; CultureMania) Matapa Music and Arts - World Music Festival Downtown Soccer Central Pan Promenade at Celebration Square (throughout two weeks) Main celebration site and viewing area coordinated with Tourism Hamilton & Downtown Hamilton BIA. A main gathering & information area, entertainment, attendees participation/activations (ie: street soccer, extreme sport), art displays, food and beer garden. Waterfront Multicultural Celebrations (final weekend) In cooperation with Supercrawl Productions, plan to host concerts including multicultural entertainment, viewing area, vendors, food and fireworks.

30 Hamilton Kicks It Up! Off-The-Field Action Satellite Event Sites Include: International Village BIA International House (July 14-24) The International Village will be transforming Ferguson Station into International House, includes foods, entertainment and viewing station with lounge seating. On July 12, a bazaar will be held. Ottawa Street BIA International Food Court / Food Central (July 11-26) Ottawa Street BIA is going to create an International Food Court using food trucks in order to become food central for athletes, attendees, ticket holders and visitors to Hamilton. Centre 3 for Print and Media Pop-up Shop visual arts (July) Artmatch- It is a part of a larger project connecting art, artists, art works and artistic process to the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games. Presentation of artworks in offsite locations and storefronts along Barton Street. Audience engagement activities (July 12 proposed), celebratory dance/parade near stadium area.

31 Things to Remember Get your tickets now! Plan ahead! Now is the right time to start thinking about how you ll get around during the Games The Precinct will experience many temporary traffic & parking changes Residents in the hard and soft closure areas will require permits. Permits will be important! Permits expected to be distributed to residents at the end of June LASTLY. IF YOU LIVE IN THE HARD CLOSURE AREA SURROUNDING THE STADIUM WE HAVE PAPERWORK FOR YOU! We plan to visit each home within the hard and soft closure areas over the next several weeks
