8 ATTRACTIONS (the things to do) Big fish and big bricks are paired with live theatre and creative outlets to make Crown Center the region s #1 family destination. SEA LIFE AT CROWN CENTER Scheduled to open in 2012, Sea Life at Crown Center will take visitors on a 2-3 hour journey from the fresh waters of the Missouri River to the warm blue coral of the Caribbean and the dark abyss of the Atlantic Ocean. The two-story aquarium will house more than 30 spectacular displays of marine life for visitors to enjoy everything from shrimp and starfish to seahorses, sharks and rays. A stunning centerpiece will be a huge tropical ocean tank with a walkthrough underwater tunnel. Sea Life, the world s biggest aquarium brand, is operated by Merlin Entertainments, the world s second-largest visitor attraction operator. The Crown Center aquarium is expected to attract 350,000 guests during its first full year. LEGOLAND DISCOVERY CENTER Opening at Crown Center in 2012 is the LEGOLAND Discovery Center. It will be located adjacent to Sea Life, another Merlin Entertainments attraction. This will be just the fourth LEGOLAND Discovery Center in the U.S. At other locations, visitors enjoy incredible adventures with jungle explorers, ride into the unknown on dragons, construct intricate buildings and vehicles, see the local area in astonishing miniature detail and, most of all, discover the power of imagination. LEGOLAND Discovery Center is a passport to a LEGO world of color, creativity and fun, with more than two million LEGO bricks under one roof.

9 AWARD-WINNING THEATRE Adding to the uniqueness of the Crown Center Shops is the presence of three live theatres, which draw hundreds of performance arts enthusiasts each week. TIME magazine recognized the Coterie Theatre as one of the nation s top five theatres for young audiences. The American Heartland Theatre presents Broadway-style productions, while the Off Center Theatre is home to a variety of innovative theatre troupes. THE WORLD OF HALLMARK Hallmark Cards offers two free attractions for children and families. At the Hallmark Visitors Center, guests experience more than 100 years of Hallmark history, with exhibits that demonstrate the company s celebrated creativity and craftsmanship. Next door to the Visitors Center is Kaleidoscope, a creative workshop where children and their families use art supplies and recycled Hallmark materials to bring imagination to life. YEAR-ROUND EVENTS In addition to attractions, Crown Center offers a calendar full of events that draw hundreds of thousands of guests each year. The summer schedule includes outdoor movies, concerts and the wildly popular Kansas City Irish Fest.
