1 Focus on Cape Town March 24 to 31, 2015 This was my first trip with Stanford Travel/Study [it] could not have been made easier, more comfortable and fun. I look forward to more trips. Jane Sharninghouse, 79, MA 81, Focus on Barcelona, 2014
2 Boasting natural beauty, cultural diversity and warm friendly locals, Cape Town is one of the most magnificent cities in the world. From the picturesque beaches to the lush rolling hills of wine country to breathtaking mountain ranges, Cape Town offers a memorable experience. Rich culture, history and places of interest such as heritage sites, museums, and the famous Seventh Wonder of the World, Table Mountain. Dig deeper into the current events and recent history of Cape Town as we meet with local guest speakers, arranged through Stanford connections. Looking to explore a bit more of South Africa? Join us for a safari through the Sabi Sabi Reserve followed by two days in Johannesburg. Travel/Study is the best great professors, itineraries, traveling companions and personnel. Bonnie Brae, 59, Stanford Traveler

9 What to Expect Main Program We consider this to be a moderately strenuous program. Half- to full days of touring are balanced with free time to explore Cape Town on our own. Daily programs involve one to three miles of walking in museums and on city tours and may involve extended periods of standing. Participants will encounter uneven terrain, including some dirt and cobblestone paths, and must be able to walk up and down hills. In some instances when stairs are a part of the tour, elevators are unavailable. Participants must be physically fit, active and in good health. We welcome travelers 15 years of age and older on this program. Post-trip Extension We consider this to be a moderately strenuous program that is at times physically demanding and busy. In the cities, daily programs involve one to two miles of walking, sometimes on uneven terrain. Most buildings do not have elevators, and stairs may not have handrails. Open-air, fourwheel-drive safari vehicles are used for our game drives in Sabi Sabi Game Reserve. Safaris may last several hours at a time and can be dusty and somewhat bumpy, as roads in the park are unpaved. Participants should be physically fit, active and in good health. We welcome travelers 15 years of age and older on this program.
