The Centro Cultural de Belém, created by the architects Vittorio Gregotti and Manuel Salgado, was designed to function as an open city, consisting of buildings, streets, plazas and bridges.

2 The Centro Cultural de Belém, created by the architects Vittorio Gregotti and Manuel Salgado, was designed to function as an open city, consisting of buildings, streets, plazas and bridges. Establishing a dialogue with the River Tagus and the monumental Praça do Império, and flanked by the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and an area of extensive gardens, the centre is a celebration of culture, opening its intensive programme of activities to all kinds of cultural events. This cultural centre is regarded as a national and international landmark, having become a micro-city of contemporary monumentality. But it is also seen as the ideal venue, in Lisbon, for holding congresses, conferences and all types of institutional and corporate events. In fact, one of the three blocks from which it is formed, the Conference Centre, which forms the façade on the side of the Praça do Império, overlooking the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and the River Tagus, was designed specifically for this purpose. DANIEL MALHÃO In this catalogue, you will find an illustrated description of the two auditoriums and the 14 meeting rooms, as well as the restaurants, bars, terraces, plazas and gardens that can be made available for your use. We also present the CCB team, specialising in the organisation and management of events, who are also ready to plan, organise and produce all of your company s events.

Main Auditorium The Main Auditorium is one of the most important venues for the staging of cultural events in Portugal and the largest room at the Centro Cultural de Belém.

3 Main Auditorium The Main Auditorium is one of the most important venues for the staging of cultural events in Portugal and the largest room at the Centro Cultural de Belém. It is designed to host all manner of artistic productions, concerts and shows requiring great technical proficiency, and is also equipped for the organisation of large-scale meetings, such as congresses and conferences, functioning as a large room for the holding of plenary sessions. The room is entered via two large foyers that can be used as exhibition spaces and/or for catering purposes; the level 2 foyer also leads onto a terrace overlooking the River Tagus. The Main Auditorium can also be joined with the Small Auditorium and the other rooms of the CCB to host large congresses, with several sessions taking place at the same time. 4 Small Auditorium The Small Auditorium is the second largest room at the Centro Cultural de Belém. Used as a theatre and concert hall, and frequently available for congresses, conferences, debates or seminars, it also functions as a complementary space to the Main Auditorium at large-scale events. It has several surrounding corridors, and an exclusive terrace and garden, with a view over the River Tagus and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries), thus making it possible to provide catering services or hold complementary exhibitions related to the event taking place in the auditorium. It is a medium-sized room, whose architecture and location make it one of the most distinctive rooms at the CCB. Its characteristics and equipment mean that it can be used for a wide variety of different events. It has three support rooms, a central control unit and nine booths for simultaneous translation. It also has several adjoining areas, and is preceded by a foyer with an area of 276m 2, where the Eugénio de Andrade Room is also located, which makes it possible to use the two rooms jointly if necessary. The foyer is ideal for small exhibitions and or catering. It is equipped with nine booths for simultaneous translation, a support room and all the audiovisual equipment necessary to ensure your meetings are a success. The room has a formal style of decoration, with very comfortable leather chairs designed by Daciano da Costa. In front of the room is a corridor, which can be used as a support area for coffee breaks and or technical exhibitions. It is equipped with audiovisual equipment and nine booths for simultaneous translation. The support room also has access for people with reduced mobility. It also has a foyer with an area of roughly 200m 2, which is frequently used for catering leisure purposes and or for technical exhibitions. In this foyer, there are five smaller rooms, which are particularly suited for events requiring breakout rooms. Its versatility means it can be used for holding meetings and conferences, signing protocols, presenting products, and holding exhibitions. It has the support of an office, and, because of its proximity to the Glicínia Quartin Room and its surrounding corridors, a number of different solutions are possible. Located on the south side of the building on Level 0 and accessed from the Jardim das Oliveiras, this gallery began its activity on 7 December 2012, resulting from the fresh use given to one of the spaces originally planned to serve as a car park, but which until then had only been used as storage space for a variety of different materials and equipment. Supported by 11 rectangular pillars, the spacious gallery has natural lighting and a total area of m 2, measuring 76 m in length and 23 m in width. 20 Equipment: All audio-visual equipment to be used and all filming to be undertaken at the Congress Centre of the Belém Cultural Centre shall be provided by the Belém Cultural Centre Foundation or by entities hired by the Foundation. The Client is responsible for all equipment and for the receivers with headphones distributed to participants. In the event that at the end of the meeting any material is missing it will be charged at cost. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Terms of use: All rooms are rented with air conditioning and lighting system and the respective furniture according to the chosen layout (Theatre; School; Round Table; U shape; Table-arm chair, etc). Changes to the layout confirmed on the day of the event will be charged at 10% of the room. Other layout changes will be budgeted in each case. Room price does not include technical and /or equipment supply, which will be budgeted in each case. It will be charged to event organizers all additional costs related to the reinforcement of security measures and hygiene facilities in the attainment of certain events. The opening hour of the Conference Centre of Belém Cultural Centre is from 08:00 am to 08:00 pm on weekdays and from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm on weekends and holidays. Any change this schedule will be budgeted on each case according to customer request. Periods of assembly and / or disassembly are charged at 50% of the space. Except with the prior written consent of Belém Cultural Centre Foundation, no structural or decoration modifications can be done in assigned areas. Plus, the user may not (without consent) post, preach or paste anything on the walls, floor, pillars, roof, etc.. neither cut or drill such elements. If the space given is not returnable on the same conditions the Foundation will commission the necessary reconstruction and shall assign the user the costs and expenses incurred in related to such works. Catering services are exclusively provided by companies contracted by Belém Cultural Centre in all rooms. Please let us know if your event counts with the participation of people with reduced mobility. The reservation is guaranteed with the settlement at prompt payment of 100% of the amount of the space plus the value of the services. Extras will be charged at the event day and paid within 30 days of the invoice date. Flagpoles (45) 2.250,00 + VAT Flagpoles (each) 100,00 + VAT Cancellation or postponement of a confirmed and invoiced event until 30 days before its start involves the payment of 20% of the total budget. Any cancellation or postponement after this term (30days) requires full payment of the confirmed services. If the Cultural Centre receives another request for the same space / dates, you will be asked for a written response within 48 working hours. In the absence of a written response on time, early booking will be considered void.
