You can read the trip diary on the website. Manawatu August 17 th 20 th. Outbound exchange to Manawatu to coincide with Nuts and Bolts. WORLD CONFERENCE 2016 Will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, September 15-18, information has been ed to all members and registrations are active since December INWARD AND OUTWARD EXCHANGES FOR 2017: Inbound September 11 th 17 th. Hamilton/Burlington Canada. ED is Bob Walker Outbound USA Long Island 4 11 October 2017 Colonial North Carolina October 2017 Sarasota Florida October 2017 We are also looking at the possibility of 2 3 days in New York prior to visiting the Long Island club and visiting Cuba either by cruise ship or a land based tour for 5 7 days afterwards.

3 Cost: $5,000-5,500 approx. (includes all FFI fees and club host fees and travel) Hoping to organise a cruise or land visit to Cuba as an extra - $ $3000. Contact ED: Graham Wigley (Wellington) wigley@clear.net.nz If time in USA is your wish in 2017, then go no further than this exchange we have it all. Long Island We commence our exchange programme at JFK Airport New York. FF Long Island promise a variety of group activities for 6 of the 7 days of the exchange. So be prepared for action-packed days, and a great deal of walking. Ambassadors enjoy visits to Long Island attractions such as beaches, museums & historical sights, farms and vineyards. One or two trips by railroad into the heart of New York City are also scheduled. Typically a full day visit to lower Manhattan includes a visit to Ground Zero, a walk through Wall Street and a ride on the Staten Island ferry which passes the Statue of Liberty and provides a wonderful view of the NYC skyline. An optional walk over the Brooklyn Bridge provides spectacular views of the City, too. A full day visit to midtown Manhattan often includes the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a walk through Central Park, and Times Square at night. We cap off our days in Manhattan with a dinner in Little Italy or Chinatown for lower Manhattan or a Times Square related dinner for our midtown trips. Such enjoyment should not be missed, nor the many friends made during these three exchanges. Colonial Carolina We move a little south to our second hosting at FF Colonial Carolina located on the Pamlico River which empties into the Pamlico-Albemarle Sound which is the world's largest estuary where fresh and salt water mix to act as a nursery for multiple species of fish, shellfish, and birds. A local aquarium-type centre called an Estuarium studies the land, sea, sound, and river and is the first of its type in the world. A typical exchange includes day trips to local attractions such as the Wright Brothers Museum for the First to Fly, to Somerset Place a once functioning plantation for cotton and agricultural products which employed slave labour, to PCS Phosphate the largest open pit phosphate mine, and to the Aurora Fossil Museum where patrons can dig for fossils several million years old and to Fountain Powerboats Factory where the offshore racing boats are made which hold almost all world records in every class for speed and endurance. There are 6 commercial fish farms, fresh flower farms (the largest peony farm in the world), and world class farming industry for soybeans, corn, cotton, tobacco and trees. Sarasota Florida Finally we are hosted by FF Sarasota on the south western coast of Florida. The area is renowned for its cultural and environmental amenities, beaches, resorts, the keys and much more.

4 We may take advantage of their opera, ballet, numerous theatres, the Florida State Museum of Art, donated by John and Mabel Ringling, their Circus Museum, the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens (noted for its orchids), and the Mote Marine Laboratory, where shark research is done. The white beaches are truly world famous, and viewing of alligators and other wildlife can be seen from nearby Myaaka State Park. Cuba For those interested, we are endeavouring to have 5 or so days in Cuba, however, at this stage a cruise might be the best option as suitable accommodation in Cuba might be scarce. At this time we have budgeted $ $3000 twin share. A wonderful way to end wonderful exchange. 5 MID-WINTER CHRISTMAS DINNER A very successful function celebrating Mid-Winter was held on Thursday 23 June at Bistro 52 in Lower Cuba St. This is a training restaurant and the trainees had prepared an interesting, high quality menu with the presentation and serving of a very high standard. 19 members, 3 prospective members and 12 friends were agreed that the 2 Course for $30 or 3 Course for $40 was excellent value. It was a little disappointing to know that we were dependent on friends of Jenny and Graham Wigley to make our group of a sufficient size for us to book this venue. The evening was completed by the arrival of Mother Christmas aka Lynnda Bouzaid, who appropriately presented gifts to everyone who had remembered to add to the pile to be distributed. A very enjoyable evening in the usual Friendship Force friendly atmosphere SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE MEETING 13/6/16 Treasurer is still working with Westpac Bank to set up an additional bank account for FF exchanges. 5 membership forms have been sent to prospective members Property Manager. Erica Speden has implemented an asset register. Above Inbound and outbound exchanges discussed
