However, he is best known for acting and singing in the romantic musicbased drama Once. Glen also had a major role in the movie The Commitments as the lead guitarist for the Irish blues band. He started his musical career early, at the age of 13 busking on the streets of Dublin. Glen has been quoted as saying that his musical idols are Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan; Glen actually toured with Bob a number of years ago. So this is solo album number 3 for Glen and it opens with Roll On Slow -the song has an R&B influenced rock and roll vibe that actually reminds you of a song The Commitments might do-with some wicked guitar work on it. That similar vibe shows up on Wheels On Fire, which has a 1970 s like groove that is made all that much better by the fantastic Hammond organ work, and Glen s made for rock and roll voice. The song reminds me of something Chris Rea would do. That love for the Van Morrisonstyle blues shows up on the amazing tracks Why Woman, Time Will Be The Healer and the hauntingly beautiful Movin On. These songs let us hear just how poetic, emotional and intense Glen s voice, and guitar work really are. On the bluesy number Wreckless Heart Glen s voice alternates from delicate to rough, completely at ease in both modes, as he wails through one of the best blues songs I ve heard in years. One of the best songs here is Your Heart s Not In It ; the song is another example of Glen s diversity in his vocals-and songwriting. This one also has the Van Morrison stamp on it bigtime. In the movie Once Glen costarred with Czech-born, transplanted Irish singer/ actress Marketa Irglova-who was also half of the duo The Swell Season (mentioned above) with Glen. She shows up here on backing vocals. However, you can still carry forward unused amounts from previous years. Also, with certain conditions, you may now be able to claim the tuition amount for fees you paid to a postsecondary educational institution for occupational skills courses, even if they are not at a post-secondary level. Your educational institution will still issue you a tax slip for all tuition paid. * CHILDREN'S CREDITS As of January 1, 2017, the children s arts tax credit and children s fitness tax credit were both eliminated. * PUBLIC TRANSIT TAX CREDIT As of July 1, 2017, this credit was eliminated. For this tax year, you can claim the cost of eligible public transit expenses only for travel taken from January 1 to June 30, If you have any questions about these changes, or other taxation credits and amounts you are encouraged to speak to your tax representative.
