1 Youth Orchestra Inc Performance and Art Development Agency Victoria Lewis Amanda Phillips Zoos SA AdYO Artistic Development Program PADA presents Snake Sessions by Branch Nebula African Graffiti Street Art Project Otanical Zoo Conservation Mural Category 1: Artistic Development 1 July June 2017 Numerous venues - The University of, Victoria Square, SA Museum, Art Gallery of SA, Railway Station, Helping Hand North. Youth Orchestras will deliver a yearlong artistic development program for 250 young students comprising rehearsals, coaching, residencies and public performances. Students will showcase their skills at 15 public performances throughout the city, including at Victoria Square, Town Hall, Rundle Mall and Central Market, with the majority of performances free for the public to attend March 2017 Bowden Skate Park (community area), Park 27 A new site specific performance project developed by Branch Nebula, a team of 7 street-style arts professionals, in collaboration with the users of the park. This unique work is part of a national tour and will involve a week-long residency with morning training sessions and afternoon skills development public workshops, culminating in a 120-minute family event on Saturday 11 March 2017 featuring performances with all participants gathered throughout the residency. Category 2: Public Art February 2017 Eliza Street A live graffiti art display by four established Kenyan artists will activate Eliza Street, resulting an exciting new laneway of art. In conjunction, a number of other events will be held in collaboration with local businesses to further showcase African culture to the wider community, such as documentary screenings, artist talks, workshops and an exhibition. 1 July - 15 August 2016 Botanic Gardens Otanical is a free, interactive 360-degree virtual reality artwork, set in the Barber Shop Rotunda in the Botanic Gardens. The work combines filmed characters, animation, dance, circus and physical theatre and showcases local talent across the performing and visual arts whilst marrying art and technology. Otanical is a magical fairytale world, literally brought to life by the public through the window of an ipad tablet. This significant, original Australian production was first exhibited as part of the Fringe 2016, and the latest iteration will be redesigned and enhanced for the 2016 SALA Festival. September 2016 external wall of Zoo, Frome Road A large stretch of grey concrete wall will be brought to life through a significant mural artwork featuring animals that the Zoo are trying to save from extinction. The artwork by established artist Dvate (James Beattie) will incorporate beautifully executed, realistic paintings of animals and will be lit at night to offer 24hr viewing to the public. $5,000 $13,500 Page 1 of 7

2 Seb Humphries James Voller Fringe Inc Lisa King Tristan Kerr Emma Humphreys Synagogue Place Mural Sheltered (working title) 2017 Street Art Explosion Moger Lane Mural Ergo Apartments Tarot Category 2: Public Art July - August 2016 Synagogue Place A large-scale contemporary mural artwork will activate a vacant wall in Synagogue Place off Rundle Street. The 8m x 12m artwork by nationally renowned street artist Seb Humphreys will be made from specialty paints and incorporate a lighting element to illuminate varying sections of the paint at night, creating the feel of a moving, changing artwork. February October 2017 Bus shelters at either North Terrace or Park 11, 12 and 13 Sheltered (working title) is a multi-part photographic installation that transforms Council owned bus shelters to appear as houses. Photographs of houses from North will be placed onto three bus shelters, creating the illusion of houses where they would usually not exist. The work looks at the origins of the City and how it has evolved since the 1830 s and explores how iconic housing helps to inform a city s sense of place and identity. January March 2017 Laneway between Chesser Street and Coromandel Place Following the success of the 2016 project, Fringe will again present Street Art Explosion during the 2017 Fringe. This iteration will include renowned street artist Jimmy C as an Ambassador for the program, a new work by Jimmy C and the production of a new guide to street art in the CBD which will include a range of Aboriginal and multicultural artworks. January February a Moger Lane The Moger Lane Mural is one of the first murals in the Walls of Wonderment series, a series of murals that Lisa King plans to paint in her hometown of over the next months. The mural aims to cater to a diverse community through welcoming imagery and multicultural elements. It will be featured in the 2017 Fringe Street Art Explosion Guide and also form part of the artist s Fringe outdoor exhibition. January February 2017 Ergo Apartments, off Sturt Street A large-scale 18x3m contemporary urban artwork will span across the south entrance of the Ergo Apartments precinct, portraying abstract shapes, colour and text to create a vibrant landmark. The typographic-based mural aims to connect the local community, inspiring and invoking conversation through a snapshot of colours, textures and visual references that result from the diversity and culture based around s South End. January 2017 (17 sessions) Veale Gardens Tarot works as a free-roaming interactive performance. Audiences enter in groups of up to 50 at a time, staggered over four separate entry times. They encounter body painted figures spread throughout Veale Gardens, each representing a different card from the Tarot deck, and undertake a journey into the trial and triumph, love and loss, unity and conflict common to us all the experience of being human. Featuring a unique script, the audience are guided through the performance and are able to participate through dialogue, movement and puzzle solving. $7,996 $7,276 $6,680 $5,100 $6,800 $4,000 Page 2 of 7

Save Fringe and SALA Street Art Explosion Category 2: Public Art January 2017 SHine SA, 57 Hyde Street The aim of this community artwork is to convey SHine SA as a safe and welcoming place for the community to access sexual health and relationship services. A mural artwork will be painted by artist Alice Dolling and will include contributions from SHine SA clients through thoughts and ideas left in a visitor book. SHine SA provides services for communities including young people under 30, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex people, people with disabilities, sex workers, and people living with HIV. February /131 Pirie Street The Rhino Room is a creative enterprise which has been contributing to the cultural and artistic life of for the past 17 years. In February 2017 it will relocate to a new home at 1/131 Pirie Street, with its façade facing onto Hyde Street. The artist who painted the original, iconic rhino mural will now create another mural at the new location, creating a landmark for this important live performance venue and contributing to the activation of Hyde Street. 17 September 2016 Victoria Square Unmasked African Festival is an annual event which showcases the rich culture, tradition and talents of newly arrived refugees and migrants from African backgrounds who now call home. The event features traditional music, dance, performances, art, craft and food, with 35 ethnic groups from 18 African countries participating in the 2016 Festival. 25 July 2016 The University of (Goodman Lawns), North Terrace Think.Eat.Save is a free public event presented by OzHarvest in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program and held simultaneously across the country in 8 different locations. In OzHarvest partners with the University of and the National Wine Centre to raise awareness about the impacts of food waste on our environment, community and economy by providing a free lunch made of surplus food which is cooked and served by local chefs and food personalities. The project further provides sustainable food practice ideas and tools to the community by engaging them in activities and panel discussions throughout the event. 1 July - 30 September 2016 East End precinct, West End precinct, City South precinct is becoming recognised as a centre for dynamic new contemporary street art and some of Australia's most revered street artists reside in. In 2016 Fringe will partner with the 2016 SALA Festival to develop an updated street art printed and digital map and a series of free street art tours during SALA (1-31 August). This project builds on the Fringe's 'Street Art Explosion' initiative that highlights and supports the vibrant street art scene in. The digital map will be widely distributed, accompanied by 5,000 printed maps, and 6 tours will be held in total, led by street art experts, with up to 50 participants per tour. $6,000 $6,000 $7,000 Page 3 of 7

Farda Tomorrow Association SCOSA Stampede The 48 Hour Film Project Zombie Walk 2016 Waymouth Street Party Ghan International Film Festival Australia "Lifting the veil on Street Children struggles" 30 October 2016 Wellington Square and surrounding streets, North SCOSA Stampede is a free event to celebrate the contribution of people living with disabilities and to encourage the community to embrace diversity. It will involve a 1.8km walk / wheelchair push from Wellington Square, continuing to Archer Street, LeFevre Terrace, and Tynte Street. Following this, a 3 hour event will be held in Wellington Square with live entertainment, music, food, drinks, games, multicultural performances and giveaways for children. The aim of this event is to highlight the importance of celebrating the abilities of people living with disabilities, encourage social inclusion, and promote the accessibility of to all people living with disabilities. October - November 2016 Mercury Cinema (Morphett Street), Jade Monkey (Flinders Street) and numerous city locations The 48 Hour Film Project is an international filmmaking competition in which filmmakers are given just 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and score original short films over one weekend. This competition is held in over 130 cities worldwide and 2016 will be 's second year participating. All films created are screened at the Mercury Cinema and judged by a panel of experts, with the winning film going on to compete in the international competition in USA. The project aims to encourage interaction, collaboration and professional development opportunities for both emerging and established South Australian filmmakers whilst promoting their practices. 15 October 2016 Elder Park The Zombie Walk is a free annual event that encourages people from all walks of life to come together and participate in a fun, community event for one night only. Participants express themselves creatively around the 'zombie' theme and join in a walk throughout 's city, culminating in a free after party where local talent and organisations are showcased. The Zombie Walk also helps to raise awareness and funds for Foodbank SA. 10 March 2017 Waymouth Street, Anster Street (and potentially Waymouth Place) Initiated by City Council in 2012 as part of their Placemaking Strategy and transitioning to the West End Association in 2015, the annual Waymouth Street Party is a free community and business celebration, running from 4-10pm in 's West End. Locals, visitors and workers alike are able to celebrate and enjoy food, beverages and entertainment in a relaxed street party environment. The audience is a blend of families who enjoy the roving performances, art and dancing in the early evening, and city workers from nearby businesses enjoying after work refreshments with friends and colleagues Mercury Cinema, Lion Arts Centre The inaugural Ghan International Film Festival will showcase 15 films of varying lengths over two days in December The aim of the Festival is to highlight the skills of -based Afghan filmmakers and challenge the stereotypically negative views of Afghanistan. The Afghan's were pioneers of music and dance in Australia in the 1860's and the Festival will be a unique cultural experience including live performances by Afghan musicians, cultural displays, refreshments and information about Afghan culture and the history of Afghan people in South Australia. $7,000 $7,572 Page 4 of 7

5 Environmental Film Festival Australia Migration Museum Harriet Fraser- Barbour and Celeste Aldahn auspiced by Format Collective East End Precinct Committee Hutt St Centre Environmental Film Festival Australia - Harmony Day in the City Half Strange Contemporary Music Festival 2016 Ebenezer Night Markets Art Workshops October 2016 East End Palace Nova Cinemas, Rundle Street The Environmental Film Festival Australia is a national event that is held annually in Melbourne and Hobart. For the first time in 2016 it will also be held in. Running over 4 days in October, it will showcase a series of inspiring short and feature length films about a range of environmental issues. The Festival will also include panel discussions, an opening night special event and the distribution of informative material both at the event and afterward via electronic distribution. 19 March 2017 Migration Museum, Kintore Avenue Harmony Day is an international celebration and the Migration Museum has participated for the last 3 years, offering an opportunity for cultural sharing and learning. Following a successful event in 2016, the 2017 event will again include Aboriginal cultures and new arrivals, with a variety of children s activities, cooking demonstrations, language sharing workshops, music, dance performances, talks, tours and information stalls. The aim of the Day is to provide an inclusive, safe, friendly environment and demonstrate that is a Refugee Welcome Zone. 30 September - 2 October 2016 Torrens Rowing Club (primary venue) 'Half Strange' is a new, 3-day contemporary music festival, the brain child of local musician, artist and curator Celeste Aldahn and local musician, artist and entrepreneur Harriet FraserBarbour. The Festival will showcase a line-up of 20 new and established local and interstate independent musical acts over the Labor Day long weekend. In conjunction with Format Gallery, local visual artists will also be engaged to create art installations in and around the event. November March 2017 Rundle Street, Ebenezer Place and Ebenezer Piazza The Ebenezer Night Markets are held over 10 nights throughout Summer, with up to 53 stalls each night showcasing a range of food, jewellery, fashion, artworks and crafts. This project activates 's East End, provides opportunities for local artists and entrepreneurs, and boosts local business economy. In the season the Markets attracted over 100,000 visitors over its duration. 4 July August 2017 Hutt Street Centre The Hutt Street Centre would like to assist clients who are interested in the visual arts and give them the opportunity to have access to art supplies, a creative space in which to work, and platforms to exhibit their work. This program of art workshops will offer two sessions per week over a one-year period and will be run by trained artists. Hutt Street Centre clients will be able to exhibit their work created in exhibitions for NAIDOC week, SALA Festival, and Homeless Connect - Homeless, Health and Housing Expo. $6,000 $4,500 $2,996 Page 5 of 7

6 Free Range Theatrix auspiced by Brink Productions City of Pipe Band City of Band Nikki Carabetta Music SA "Gone Viral" in the 2017 Come Out Children's Festival CoA Public Performance Program 2016/17 City of Band Inc. program of public entertainment and free community concerts Stories Umbrella: Winter City Sounds 9 January - 21 May 2017 Tandanya, Grenfell Street "Gone Viral" is an award winning one-act play about a 17 year old girl who is dealing with the typical problems of her age as well as coming to terms with the impending loss of her father to cancer. The play will offer performances for schools and the general public and will also involve free workshops to encourage discussion around the issues of the play, led by trained counsellors from Can Teen as well as the show's writer / producer and actor / director. The performance aims to equip over 1,000 young people with a better understanding of what people experiencing this type of situation may be going through. 1 July June 2017 Numerous locations including Elder Park, Hurtle Square, Whitmore Square, ANZAC Day Parade, Australia Day Parade, Lord Mayors Christmas Gala. The City of Pipe Band is one of the leading ensembles in Australia, promoting and celebrating Scottish Pipe Band culture and Celtic music. In 2016/17 they will deliver a program of 10 free performances in the City of, including both traditional and informal performances to engage with a variety of audiences. 1 July June 2017 Numerous locations, including Victoria Square, Rundle Mall, Botanic Park, Victoria Park, St Peters Cathedral, Christ Church North A program of 12 free performances of popular music at community concerts, events and indoor concerts that cater to all musical tastes. The Band has members from a variety of international backgrounds, collaborates with a range of cultural organisations, and any member of the public is welcome to attend band rehearsals and participate. Category 4: Quick Response 28 June - 30 July 2017 Hawke Gallery, Uni SA Aboriginal artist Nikki Carabetta will deliver an art exhibition and mentorship in collaboration with a number of young and emerging Aboriginal artists. The emerging artists will gain valuable skills through a 6 week mentorship in the lead up to the exhibition, and will also exhibit alongside Nikki and contribute to the creation of a large 6x9m collaborative mural to be installed within the gallery space. The exhibition is free for the public to attend and will run during NAIDOC Week July 2017 Numerous locations, City Umbrella: Winter City Sounds will offer an exciting smorgasbord of curated live music projects and other performances across the CBD to warm and illuminate the colder weeks. This application is to fund an interactive album launch where a mobile phone app will allow the public to download each song from the album for free at designated locations within the CBD. This will offer a fully immersive experience for the user, combining music created from the sounds of the city, with the sights and atmosphere of their immediate surroundings to create a new perspective of the City of July 2017 Crown and Sceptre Hotel Futuresounds and Fresh 92.7 are collaborating to realise Futuresounds VII. This one-day festival will take place across three stages as part of the Umbrella Winter City Sounds initiative. The festival will draw from a diverse selection of emerging electronic musicians, provide at least 20 performance opportunities, and give maximum exposure to the selected acts by tapping into Fresh 92.7 s 150,000 strong listenership September 2017 Percy Court Studio Raised Poor is an exhibition of work by 13 artists showcasing the raw, untouched talent that has arisen from the economic struggle, by disenfranchised people who feel lost in a system where the creative arts are privilege they cannot afford. The artists involved are: Jade Mars, Azzurro, Roarkij, Nish Cash, Steve Glass, Nicholas Irving, Bonnie Thomas, Kingsley Hampton, Tom Moffat, David Brimer, and Eddie Docherty.
