Olive Tree invites the local community, and visitors to the region, to join them on July 23rd. Over the next month, the Upper Hunter Shire Council will be hosting a series of workshops in Murrurundi, Scone and Merriwa to develop a cultural plan to shape Council s investment in arts and culture over the next ten years. Everyone is invited to attend. Organisers want to hear ideas about preserving halls and theatres, hosting workshops and festival and promoting existing cultural events. Works to remove and prune the dead and dying trees in the park commenced on 1 June and was carried out in three stages, under the supervision of an ecologist, with flying fox carers on standby. Council is now working on a future management plan for the park.
