Reunions (including staff reunions) 3.30pm Cathedral, booking confirmed, College will need to reimburse the Cathedral as they will potentially miss out on two weddings Helen Smith (Archbishop s PA) contacted and the Archbishop is confirmed. Helen requested to invite priests to Mass and celebrations. Marg has offered to do Mass booklet Action: Chris to collate current list of priests to invite Anniversary Gala 5.30pm Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart, booking confirmed Three-course meal, drinks for 1000 guests Federation Ball Room 3. Alumni database management Helen/Vicki/Kylie Opportunity to run College tours during Open Weekend (Saturday 12 May); look to involve students (2017 Prefect Body) as tour guides. Idea proposed to stage small drama plays/historical re-enactments involving drama students around school grounds to coincide with tours. Planning for this likely not to commence until February. Helen to gather student group. Action: Marg to discuss drama plays concept with Leah Smith. Action: Vicki to update Alumni Committee at its next meeting (in fortnights time). 4. Sculpture and window update Stuart/Helen/Gabrielle Fountain moved to make way for sculpture of Nano Nagle. Stuart visited Ben Tolhurst with College maintenance team to plan for installation; sculpture going well. Stuart to advise date for installation; project anticipated for completion by October 2018 (ahead of Year 12 Belling Out). Action: Stef to promote works in newsletter/social media, including updates on sculpture progression and expected completion. Window Planned meeting with Meredith when she returns to install second window. 2

3 Three students have a meeting with Gabrielle and Helen to work on the Presentation window. 5. Generation Pin Helen Note: different to Generation Badge; something the College will pursue separately. Considering Celtic-themed design incorporating numerals and/or words; different colours to represent different generations. Action: Stef to include a call out in future editions of Fountain newsletter to start creating interest and flow of support across generations (starting with second generation) Faces update Marg Approximately nominations received. Nomination period fluid, continue aiming for 150 entries but consider re-naming project if we fall short of target. Marg has completed 35 stories so far; project on track. Action: Stef to remind school community about nomination period across various communication platforms. 7. Spirit DVD update Jen DVD progressing according to plan. Filming completed for main College events (Belling In, Big Splash, Athletics Carnival, Grandparents Day, Nagle Spirit Day). Still need to secure footage of students performing Lantern song. Aiming to finish with classes from Weeks 5-10, concluding with Year 12 graduation in late October. Editing/post-production process to take approximately 3-4 weeks. Professional contracted to start in October. Action: Jen to talk to Brigid regarding updates and confirm with Scott Weston regarding filming requirements. 8. Artwork and merchandise Jo/Marg/Brigid Jo and Brigid met with Tasmanian artist Esther Shobert two weeks ago to discuss brief for 150 th print. Art work to depict important and recognisable elements of SMC, i.e. Cathedral, historical stone work, Nano Nagle, lanterns, uniforms, Kinders red hats. 3

4 Commissioning one large print for display purposes and smaller prints for sale. Opportunity to consider related merchandise, such as placemats, coffee mugs, stationery, also using print design. Action: Establish artwork and merchandise committee comprising Mel, Stef, Marg, Brigid and Jo. 150 th badge Cathy Owens liaised with badge designers/suppliers. Suggestion raised by Isobel to run an art competition among student body re design of 150 th badge. Winning entry announced at whole-school assembly; prizes could be offered for top designs. Action: Stef to liaise with Jackie to coordinate group of Year 11 and 12s for participation. Other ideas Jackie proposed idea to design/create customised wine label featuring names of College graduates. Engage P&F to use wine bottles for fundraising. Apron, tea towels (Junior School names of staff and students); simple white t-shirt for all students (with names of Junior/Senior School students and all teachers). Students to recreate historical photos in colonial dress could be used for postcard or other anniversary promotional items. Action: Jo to research designers/suppliers for t-shirt. 9. Postcard Marg Design/concept finalised for 150 th postcard, featuring historical photo with balloons and subtext. Approved by committee. Postcard to be printed and inserted into upcoming edition of Alma Mater (July 2017). Action: Marg to print postcards and provide to Communications department. 10. Social media and promotion Stef/Kylie Utilise social media/facebook as promotional tool to build anticipation/drive awareness of 150 th celebrations. Draw on nostalgic images, historical anecdotes and storytelling to generate interest and start conversations. Action: Stef to launch Facebook page and plan 150 th messaging re same. Action: Kylie to engage alumni via Facebook when she returns in Term Sesquicentenary and the NEAA 4

5 Gabrielle Opportunity to invite a representative from each Presentation school in Australia. Make contact with committee/secretary of NEAA to gauge interest and possible attendance. Action: Helen to liaise with NEAA th Mass and Dinner Chris Mass/liturgy to be prepared by the College in line with other significant masses. Consider establish a small working group to work through the dinner organise menu, order of events, MC, etc. Consider key senior College staff and two or three committee members. Invite Adrian Doyle (as former pupil of College) to say grace at dinner. Archbishop to run formal proceedings. Re-visit as a task for Other business Hold College staff event (past and present) on Saturday 3 February to mark official date St Mary s College received first pupils (2 February)? Picnic on front lawns proposed. Action: Stef to re-add item to next agenda. 14. Next Meeting Tuesday 4 July 2017, pm. 5
