Some Unusual Breakfast Guests Hello and welcome to ENWs first travel podcast from the Southern Hemisphere! It is a bright, sunny and 1: morning as we are in the Sydney Harbour National Park for a breakfast date - but with some unusual companions. Why? Well, ENW is heading to Taronga Zoo for an 8:30am breakfast date with some koalas and 2:! Don t worry we are not going to eat a koala or kangaroo for breakfast! Although if ENW is being totally honest, when we were last in Australia in 1997 we did eat 3: kangaroo at the bottom of Uluru. It was delicious too! But this morning we will be sticking to a more normal breakfast fare of fruit, juice and some toast. OK well we will check in with you after we are done! The special breakfast was absolutely brilliant, there were a group of 12 humans, four kolas, two kangaroos, two wallabies a wombat, a cockatoo and even an 4:! Thankfully the alligator was a baby one so didn t seem too interested in munching on anything but small snacks! The breakfast cost A$56 and lasted for 90 minutes, with a 5: panoramic vista of Darling Harbour with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge on the horizon. The wallabies were the friendliest of the animals but the koalas gave off an air of 6: towards their human guests. A Stroll Around an Iconic Beach Sydney has more than 100 beaches, but oddly the city s most famous is a few kilometres south of the harbour. This is where ENW has come for our 2nd stop on our two-day trip to the city - Bondi Beach! We have arrived here via a ferry from Toranga Zoo to Circular Quay before diving the 18km to Sydney s most famous beach. Sydney is a city that has really started to embrace cycling and is currently building a 200km bike track of dedicated bike paths that offers safe cycling away from traffic. ENW, as usual, got a little lost on our ride over to Bondi but we finally made it, have locked up our rainbow stolen bike and are waiting for our dedicated walking tour of Bondi Beach to begin. The beach was first opened to the public in 1882 and many of the first inhabitants in the area came from Vatican City. The A$60 walking tour ENW has booked includes Aboriginal rock art sites, meet up with lifesavers, a tour of the Aquabumps Gallery and Bondi Pavilion. ENW hopes the walk will be tiring, as tomorrow morning we a climbing an iconic Sydney site! (c) ENW has paid A$265 to participate in the 2hr 15min tour, and so here we go as we ready ourselves to climb the 1,332 steps to the top! Before that, we are going to have a wander around the outside of the famous building whilst we are waiting for the show to begin at 7:30pm. The Opera House was a 4: design when first unveiled by Danish architect Jørn Utzon who based the unique 14 shells of the exterior on the peeling of an 5:! His design was chosen from a total of 233 submitted, and he was paid just 5,000 or 90,000 in The building took 14 years to complete and ended up 6: A$102m or A$927m in 2018 prices.
