2 Dear WAKO ASIA members, It is with the greatest pleasure that, I welcome you to the Seniors WAKO Asian Championship in Pune, India from 1 st to 9 th August The event will serve as 1 st stage of qualification for Sportaccord World Combat Games 2017 & IWGA World Games This event is organized by WAKO ASIA leaded by Mr. Nasser Nassiri, WAKO (IF) Vice President and President of WAKO ASIA, who has developed enormously our sport in the past years both in quality and in figures in particular after obtaining recognition of Kickboxing sport in Asia by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on September 2005 and recognition of WAKO Asia and inclusion of Kickboxing as official sport in Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games. I am sure that this event will be another great success for our organization. Kickboxing one of the top sports in India and Kickboxing continues to grow each year. This is an amazing opportunity for showing the great variety of branches and the amazing quality of fighting around the Asia. I am sure you will love the beauty that you will find in India, which is the seventh-largest country in the world. Everybody will have the chance to appreciate the two aspects of India s everyday life: a mixture of old traditions and modern society, together with a particular disposition and warmness towards guests. There are so many things to do and see Pune since it is one of the major resort areas of the India. I wish you to travel safely and have a very successful, memorable championships! 3 WELCOME BACK TO PUNE, Dear WAKO ASIA Friends, As Vice President of WAKO (IF) and President of WAKO ASIAN Kickboxing Federation, an on behalf of my colleagues in WAKO ASIAN Board of Directors, I am very pleased of officially inviting you all to attend WAKO ASIAN Championships 2014/2015, which will be held in city of Pune (India) from 1 st to 9 th August After long hesitation, we have adopted once again for city of Pune not only because of the great experience we had in 2012 but because the geographic situation and easy access for many countries in Asia which allow our members to reach the event easier with lowest travel cost. Also there are other good reasons to go to India. In fact, the WAKO Asian championships 2014/2015 in PUNE will also serve as stage 1 of qualification for the Asian Athletes in specific weight categories participation in specific styles which will be selected for next edition of Sportaccord World Combat Games 2017 and IWGA World Games 2017 to be held under the patronage of International Olympic Committee. The participants and the winner of gold, silver and bronze medalists of the selected weight classes will cumulate the points for the qualification, which will be, add to the points, which they will obtain during the 2016 WAKO ASIAN Championships. We will have few fighting areas in the sport hall, which is quite big. Reason is that we would like to have enough time to run all style and to allow you to go for sightseeing tour in the largest country in the world and the second-most populated with over 1.2 billion people or just relaxing at your hotel and in the city. Our best WAKO ASIA referees and judges will run the tournaments and we are sure the competitions will be smooth and enjoyable. For all WAKO Asian delegation presidents, officials, leaders, we will also provide, within the sporthall, a VIP area where to relax during competitions and taste some snack and soft beverages. I am much honored to be able to host WAKO Asian Kickboxing Championships 2014/2015 for the second time in Senior Divisions but this time in all styles; Full Contact, Low Kick and K1 Rules in Ring Sports, Point Fighting, Light Contact, Kick Light and Musical Forms in Tatami Sports. I am grateful to Mr. Nasser Nassiri, WAKO ASIA President & WAKO (IF) Vice President and all friends, for granting WAKO INDIA and our country the honor of hosting this mega event. WAKO INDIA is working hard to put together a successful championship for each of you. These WAKO Asian Kickboxing Championships will also serve as the Stage 1 of Qualification for next editions of Sportaccord World Combat Games & IWGA World Games, which would be held under the patronage of International Olympic Committee. I hope that, you will have time to take in some of the many sights and historical places in our country while you are here. 5 ABOUT PUNE PUNE (pronounced [puɳeː ], anglicised as Poona) is the seventh largest metropolis in India, the second largest in the state of Maharashtra after Mumbai and the largest city in the Western Ghats. Once the centre of power of the Maratha Empire, it is situated 560 metres above sea level on the Deccan plateau at the confluence of the Mula and Mutha rivers. Pune city is the administrative capital of Pune district. Pune is known to have existed as a town since 847 AD. Pune was originally called Punawadi. In 1730, Pune became an important political center as the seat of the Maratha Peshwa, the prime minister of the Bhonsle Chhatrapati of Satara (ruler of the Maratha Empire); it was during this era that Pune became the centre of Indian politics. After the town was annexed to British India in 1817, it served as a cantonment town and as the "monsoon capital" of the Bombay Presidency until the independence of India. Today, Pune is known for its educational facilities and prosperity. Pune is the cultural capital of Maharashtra. Pune has had manufacturing, glass, sugar, and forging industries since the s. It has a growing industrial hinterland, with information technology and automotive companies setting up factories in the district. The city is known for cultural activities like classical music, spirituality, theatre, sports and literature. These activities and job opportunities attract migrants and students from all over India and abroad, which makes for a city of many communities and cultures. Pune is ranked as a Gamma - Global City. 7 TRANSPORTATION: 1) Pune International Airport: Pune Airport (IATA: PNQ, ICAO: VAPO) is located approximately 20 km (30 minute - drive) from BOXING HALL, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi. In addition to domestic flights to all major Indian cities, this airport serves international direct flights to Dubai (operated by Air India Express) and to Frankfurt (operated by Lufthansa). We suggest people interested to come at Pune Airport to take via flights either from Delhi or other major city for cheaper options. 2) Mumbai International Airport: The Mumbai Intl Airport i.e. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (IATA: BOM, ICAO: VABB) is the primary international airport in Mumbai, India and is named after the 17th century Maratha Emperor, Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhosle. It is the second busiest airport in the country, and was ranked the 48th busiest airport in world. In 2013, the airport handled almost 32 million passengers. In Mar 2014, the airport recorded 8% growth. It is located approximately 150 km (2 hour - drive) from hotel and competition venue BOXING HALL, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: 1. Rail: Local trains (EMUs) connect Pune to the industrial town of Pimpri-Chinchwad and the hill station of Lonavala, while daily express trains connect Pune to Mumbai, Kanpur, Howrah, New Delhi, Jammu Tawi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Goa, Varanasi, and Jamshedpur. The city has a railway station, Pune Railway Station. The station is administrated by the Pune Railway Division of the Central Railways. All the railway lines to Pune are broad gauge. 2. Road: Both public and private transports are popular in Pune. Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) operates the Pune Bus Rapid Transit system, the first of its kind in India, in which dedicated bus lanes were supposed to allow buses to travel quickly through the city. Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation runs buses from its main stations in Shivajinagar, Pune station and Swargate to all major cities and towns in Maharashtra and neighbouring states. Private companies too run buses to major cities throughout India. Pune is well-connected to other cities by Indian highways and state highways. National Highway 4 (NH 4) connects it to Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolhapur, NH 9 to Hyderabad. The Mumbai-Pune Expressway, India's first six-lane high-speed expressway, was built in 2002, and has reduced travel time between Pune and Mumbai to almost two hours.

8 Tourist Attraction: PUNE The Aga Khan s Palace: This Palace boasts of Italianate arches, a gracious building having salons and suites and spacious lawns. The place has a historical landmark. During the 1942 Quit India Movement, the Britishers interned Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba Gandhi here. Osho Commune: Pune has become an international tourist spot because of the Osho Commune International. Spread over 31 acres of flush green surroundings, it is the meditation resort to people from over different countries. Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum: The museum is housed in a Rajasthani styled building situated close to the hustle and bustle of the busy Bajirao Road of Pune. Mastani Mahal which was brought and erected as it was from its original form is a masterpiece amongst its other exhibits. It has 36 sections which include carved palace and temple doors, 2,000 year old pottery, traditional Indian lamps and 17th century paintings. University Of Poona: The site of Poona University, stately mansions at Ganeshkhind built in Italian-Gothic style, was the official residence of the Governor of Mumbai during the monsoon season. The 300 mt high tower beckons to all these who come here in the pursuit of higher education. Film and Television Institute of India: The FTII is situated on a sprawling campus midst much greenery on the Law College Road. It is a premier institute that imparts training in all branches of the film industry and is known for having produced some of the finest professionals in the Audio- Visual media, most of whom have won accolades abroad. So if you have star in your eyes, FTII is a must. Shaniwar Wada: This imposing palace was built by the successors of Shivaji, the Peshwas in A massive fire destroyed the building in Most of the palace interiors also got destroyed and all that remains is the old fortified wall. But of course the impressive brass studded gates and lotus pools have also withstood the ravages of time. Sinhagad: Sinhagad stands 25 kms from Pune, formerly known as Kondhana, once being the most impregnable fort in western India. Its literal translation is the "Fortress of the Lion". The fort has changed hands many times from Mohammed Tughlak in 1340 A.D., to the British in 1918 A.D. The main attraction is climbing the fort on foot. Lonavla & Khandala: Very popular hill stations, known for their resplendent green beauty during rains, these twin hill stations offer romantic hills, small waterfalls and the works A place very easily reachable by train or by road, 70 km from Pune, it's just about an hour-and-ahalf long drive in between Pune & Mumbai. Mahableshwar: The summer capital of the Bombay presidency, the little town of Mahabaleshwar, situated 1372 ft above sea level, was founded in 1828 and is the highest point in the Western Ghats. A typical colonial town, in spirit closer to Blighty than Maratha land, with plenty of bridle paths, boating and golf facilities, fishing spots and trekking trails. The town is full of lookout points (Bombay Point, Elphinstone Point, Babington Point, Kate's Point) that provide fetching views of the plains and the sea hundreds of feet below.

9 Tourist Attraction: INDIA NEW DELHI Humayun's Tomb: This magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure the most notable features are the garden squares (chaharbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome. India Gate: An "Arc-de-Triomphe" like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I. The memorial bears the names of more than 13,516 British and Indian soldiers killed in the Northwestern Frontier in the Afghan war of Qutab Minar: It is built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu kingdom. The tower has five distinct storeys, each marked by a projecting balcony and tapers from a 15 m diameter at the base to just 2.5 m at the top. The first three storeys are made of red sandstone; the fourth and fifth storeys are of marble and sandstone. At the foot of the tower is the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first mosque to be built in India. Red Fort: The Red sandstone walls of the massive Red Fort (Lal Qila) rise 33-m above the clamour of Old Delhi as a reminder of the magnificent power and pomp of the Mughal emperors. The walls, built in 1638, were designed to keep out invaders, now they mainly keep out the noise and confusion of the city. JAIPUR Hawa Mahal: Built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, is the most recognizable monument of Jaipur. The 5 storied stunning semi-octagonal monument having 152 windows with over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture. Originally designed for the royal ladies to watch and enjoy the processions and other activities, on the street below. Now it houses a well laid out museum. The display Jaipur past and present is the special feature of this newly setup museum. Jantar Mantar (Observatory): Built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the huge masonary instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky. Enormous sun-dial still provides accurate times, which are subject to daily corrections. City Palace & S.M.S II Museum: Situated in the heart of the old City, it occupies about one seventh of the old city area. The palace is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture; it houses a Seven storeyed Chandra Mahal in the centre, which affords a fine view of the gardens and the city. Diwan-E-Am (Hall of public audience) has intricate decorations and collection of manuscripts, Diwan-E-Khas (Hall of private audience) has a marble pawed gallery Mubarak Mahal has a rich collection of costumes and textiles. There is a Clock Tower near Mubarak Mahal. Sileh Khana has a collection of armory and weapons.

10 Jal Mahal: (6 kms) on the way to Amer, this small palace is set in the middle of Man agar Lake. Renovation around the lake is in progress. Amer: The old capital of the Kachhwahas stands atop a range of craggy hills. The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful palaces. It is a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. The solemn dignity of it red sandstone and white marble pavilions, when reflected in the lake at the foot hill, is a sight to behold. AGRA Taj Mahal: Is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". MUMBAI Juhu Beach: Juhu Beach: Juhu is the best place to bring the entire community (Mumbaikars - residents of Mumbai) on common social grounds and much interaction takes place amidst the natural ambience provided by the beach. Children, adults and aged, locals and tourists all make up the population that inhibits the beach especially on weekends. Marine Drive: Built on land reclaimed from Back Bay in 1920, Marine Drive runs along the shoreline of the Arabian Sea from Nariman Point past Chowpatty Beach to the foot of Malabar Hill. It's one of Mumbai's most popular promenades and a favourite sunset-watching spot. You certainly won't be loitering on the sea wall long before you're engaged in conversation, even if it's with someone offering to show you how well their monkey can breakdance. Elephanta Caves: A pleasant half an hour motor-boat ride from the hustle and bustle of city life brings one to the vicinities of the famous Elephanta caves located in the quiet island by the same name. This island is home to a series of seven magnificent rock cut caves which dates from the 4th-9th centuries A.D. These caves are situated at a height of about 76metres above sea-level. Mani Bhavan: Is the old Mumbai residence of Mahatma Gandhi. It's a pretty, two-storied structure that now houses a reference library with over 2000 books, a photo exhibition of the Mahatma's life, and well preserved memorabilia, including an old charkha or spinning wheel that Gandhiji used to use. Today, its only a symbolic exhibit that lies unused, but many old Gandhians still visit the place to pay homage to their hero and demonstrate the noble art of spinning your own yarn! Gateway of India: It is only extra-ordinary things that excite human beings but Gateway of India not only excites but also astounds the most discerning eye. The most famous monument, it is an architectural marvel that scores over other buildings in Mumbai. Having advantages of both location and architectural construction, it shines every morning with morning sun of Mumbai. There is something magical about Gateway of India that attracts tourists in hordes. Words fail to describe and picture postcards fail to capture the exact beauty of the monument.

All reservations must be made directly through Organization Committee of WAKO Asian Kickboxing Championships 2014/2015. 20 HEAD OF DELEGATION RESPONSIBILITY FORM The hosts of the 2014/2015 PUNE, WAKO ASIAN KICKBOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS greatly appreciate your interest, presence and co-operation in making this event a successful and meaningful experience for all participants involved. The average participant in this Event is well mannered, well disciplined and very co-operative. Our greatest concerns are for safety of the participants, and that at the completion of these Championships there will have been no incidents which would reflect poorly on any individuals, teams, or organizations. We ask for your cooperation and responsibility towards these aims. STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY I recognize my responsibility for the entire behavior of the athletes on my team throughout their participation in the WAKO ASIAN KICKBOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014/2015, Pune. These responsibilities begin at the time of their first arrival and conclude after their final departure from the Tournament, Tournament Site or other Site which might be related to their participation in this event. This includes complete supervision while athletes are in their respective competition for the purpose of these Championships. I also recognize that discipline problems arise in the late evening after the conclusion of the competition, in the form of not obeying the quiet hours between 11 PM and 5:30 AM, and especially on the last night of competition. I also recognize that the host committee, the Tournament Director, and the Staff at each competitive site will be available to help control discipline problems and make the Tournament enjoyable for all. 21 GENERAL CONTACT CODE OF CONDUCT All participants in the Championships, players, coaches, chaperon and relatives are expected to abide by the following code of conduct. USE OF ALCOHOL AND DRUGS BY COMPETITORS IS PROHIBITED State laws prohibit the use of alcohol by minors (under 18 years of age) and the possession or use of drugs. These laws will be strictly enforced by, team chaperon, and tournament officials. Any athlete found in violation of these laws may be subject to prosecution by law enforcement officers and they and their team mates will be immediately expelled from the Championships. The Head of Delegation assume responsibility for monitoring player conduct to ensure that drinking and drug use laws are upheld. DAMAGE TO PLAYING SITES Should damage occur at any site by a player, coach, chaperon, or even a competitor s parent, the team responsible will be charged for the damages and the participant from this team will not be admitted to any WAKO Championships. If the responsible individual/team cannot be determined then all teams participating at the site during the occurrence will be sanctioned from future WAKO Championships. We feel it is the responsibility of all teams, competitors, coaches, and families to ensure that the site is free of any problems and damages. In addition the area of the arena your team occupies is to be free of trash when you leave your site. It is also the requirement of all competition sites that ONLY WATER; IN PLASTIC CONTAINERS will be permitted inside the sporthall. Violators will cause their team to be immediately disqualified and dismissed from the Championships. PUNE SPORTS ARENA CONDUCT ATHLETES WILL ABIDE BY WAKO RULES REGARDING ARENA CONDUCT At all times coaches, team, opponents, and officials will be treated with the utmost respect. Coaches must also assume full responsibility for enforcing arena conduct rules. Teams that fail to abide by these rules are subject to disciplinary action (e.g., DISMISSAL FROM THE EVENT). COACH and OFFICIALS ENDORSEMENT I certify that I have read the Code of Conduct and have carefully reviewed it with my team members. Note: It is the responsibility of every coach to review with their teams this Code of Conduct. Individual and team violators of any provisions of this Code may be excluded from future participation in WAKO events. The organizing committee will administer such disciplinary action.
