3 Bruce Gardiner General Manager, Infrastructure Services Cairns Regional Council Bruce Gardiner is the General Manager of the Infrastructure Services Department at Cairns Regional Council and also the Institute of Public Works (IPWEAQ) NQ Branch President. Bruce has been at Cairns Regional Council for 13 years and is currently responsible for the planning, design, delivery and maintenance of Council s transport and drainage assets as well as maintenance of parks and foreshores, building asset management, fleet operations and major capital works. He worked as General Manager for the Water and Waste Department for his first 7 years in Cairns before moving from the sewer into the gutter.

4 Simon Kidston Executive Director, Genex Power Simon Kidston has an investment banking and project finance background with more than 25 years global experience with groups such as Macquarie Bank and HSBC. Simon is a co-founder and Executive Director of Genex Power, and has responsibility for project finance and business development. After successfully developing the 50MW Kidston Solar Project, he is currently focused on securing funding arrangements with banks and equity partners for the 250MW Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project and the 270MW Kidston Solar Project.

5 Bethany Lee Design Engineer, Hawker Pacific Avionics Bethany Lee is a Design Engineer at Hawker Pacific Avionics who has also gained Weight Control Authority with both CASA and CASA Papua New Guinea. Bethany holds a Bachelors in Engineering Honours and Bachelor of Sciences from the University of New South Wales. She is currently working towards Certification that will allow her to approve the structural aspects of the projects she works on.

6 Sean Walsh Partner, Miller Harris Lawyers Sean is the managing partner of Miller Harris Lawyers of Cairns. Sean practises exclusively in Business and Commercial Law and has done so for almost 30 years. He is one of a small number of Queensland Law Society accredited business law specialists practising in Queensland and the only lawyer with this form of accreditation practising in Cairns. Sean is also a chartered tax advisor with the Taxation Institute of Australia. Sean s clients include both Local and State Government, as well as Government Owned Corporations. He acts for some of the largest private commercial enterprises in North Queensland and is well versed in all aspects of Business and Commercial Law.
